My garage was hit by a tree during one of the recent hurricanes. After several quotes to fix the damage, we went with Alan's Roofing as they had replaced our roof 15 years prior. Corey met with my mom & I on a Saturday and was more than accommodating during our 2 hour meeting. Alan's Roofing was quite busy due to the storm damage but kept in touch with us to inform us when the repairs would be in que. Our insurance company deemed we needed a new roof & they were quick to facilitate the change in our repair. Alan's roofing is one of the worse contractors i've ever done business with. my roof has leaked non-stop since they installed it in 2018. i've called multiple times and they send someone out and never fix the problem. also, they scab materials from prior jobs and then charge you for new lumber. total scammers. read more

2007 I had Alan's roofing put on my main roof and replace my porch roof, I thought they did a decent job, so in 2020 when my porch roof began to leak, I called and had them replace that roof. 2020 was covid and could not get the shingle color for the tie-in per the salesman and price I thought was a little pricey until I saw what had to be done, they installed and I was satisfied. 2024 I was approved for the mysafeflorida program, so I was replacing my (30 yr shingle life ) roof since I was doing the secondary water resistance. I called Alans since they put on my last two roofs. The salesman was pleasant with the "yes maam's" I let him know I needed them to do the complete roof in one day, not be dragged out to multiple days, he assured me that it would be one day. He mainly contacted by text, phone calls were answered by text instead. I asked every question regarding the SWR and the shingles and he answered them all to the best of his ability or I googled the product and read the stats myself. Prior to the install, he had me sign the paperwork, which included the blank forms of permit, what they do are not responsible for (that included gutters) and I signed. The date was picked for install. I took that day off from work. I was up at the crack of dawn. My neighbor was having his roof installed (different company)and there were 12 workers there at 7am tearing off his roof etc., but no one at my house. I called my sales rep to see if they were on their way, he text me that they would be there at 10:30am ( something about going to the dump first), I mentioned that woiuld be a little late arrival for doing the job in one day, but he assured me they would. 10:30am they arrived. it was two guys and no more were coming. Needless to say it took the entire day for one segment of the roof to be torn off, so I had to take off the next day too. They came the next day, same two guys then later a third joined, the finished the entire roof. I thought it looked good. When they installed the roof, they loosened the gutters, not completely but partially, then when they reattached them, they had the anchors, they looked slightly "wonky" tilted not in align anymore. also one drop edge at the peak stuck out. I called the supervisor about the drip edge and while I was at work, he came out and text me he fixed it. He put two nails in the face of the drip edge (something you do not do due to possible leaks) instead of fixing it correctly. So there my disappointment sat , of gee when I do work for people I care about their things, but yet the company I paid a decent price for install a roof, does not care about my things. Live and learn on my part I did have a leak on the porch, after they installed the main roof. It was not tied in correctly with the porch roof, so that had to be fixed. I am assuming it was done correctly, so far no more leak, but anymore I am beginning to question everything done, if I do not know the actual process. The gutters being wonky, I figured I would just call my gutter man and have him straighten those out. Well disappointment again. He was out today and advised me, that he cannot straighten them out, because the roofers, when they took off the old drip edge and put on the newline, nailed the gutters to the roof under the new drip edge. He is going to come back and see what he can do to try to align what he can, but did say the roofers should pay for the fix. So disappointment number two, once again they did what they wanted and no consideration for the amount of money I spent several years ago putting new gutters on, but shame on me since I signed the - we are not responsible for gutters. I thought damage. i never thought they would just take my gutters and nail them to the roof. They could have said something. I learned something knew today. People still have to earn my trust and I hope nothing happens to this roof, because who know what have fast thing will be done. read more

Called them three days later for their quote was told it had been sent to my insurance company. 30 days later they called with a number. They were 3 times the amount of any local roofer. Sales rep Todd is a smooth-talking liar and took advantage of 80 year old senior citizens! He spent more than hour at my house talking with me and my wife and showed me a superior underlayment and gave me price quote for the indestructible product. I agreed and signed contract for installation. I waited a month before they showed up to my house to install. After many phone calls, he always had a different excuse why they were behind on their jobs. Finally they showed up unannounced a full month later to do the job. On the day of the job a different product was installed and now the company refuses to adjust price and says it is my mistake and that I ordered the basic underlayment! How could I have ordered the basic underlayment when I was never even shown the basic underlayment. He showed me the upgrade! This is classic bait and switch! Now Todd claims that I "don't remember" what I ordered. My wife and I were here with him, and we both saw the product he demonstrated, and we both agreed on it. How despicable of sales rep Todd to characterize us as not remembering because we are senior citizens. On the day of the install, I had an appointment and I was not aware that the installers used a different material as I was not at the house. Upon coning home I find out that the installation was not the correct underlayment. After calling the sales rep he claims that I never ordered the better underlayment and that this was my mistake. The material installed was never shown to me and was not what I ordered. I complained and he states that since I signed a contract there is nothing I can do. Stay away from Alan Roofing and especially their sales rep Todd spent. How could he spent more than an hour in my home showing me a superior roofing product, then I spent over a month calling him and waiting for the roofing installation ,and now the product installed was not what I paid for and it is my fault? Could it be that perhaps, the subcontractors picked up the wrong materials and now you want to cover your @ss and keep your commission???? read more

Preliminary review! Met with the Alan's Roofing sales man (Cory) yesterday. He took a good amount of time explaining the Alan's process. He described a similar workflow and necessary code upgrades that all the other sales people from other companies did. He didn't try to pressure us into anything we don't really need. Very easy to work with and listened to what we as the customers indicated we needed. In the end, his estimate bested the others we've gotten and even offered extras that others hadn't. There was one issue with the amount of shingles estimated. When Cory came over this evening for me to sign the paperwork, he indicated there had been a mathematical error, the previously mentioned issue with amount of shingles needed compared to other estimates. Cory never even implied he was going to change the price for our job. He'd already checked with his manager and they were going to honor the quote he gave me last night. So far, so good. The only issue I'd say I have is in the scheduling of the work to be done. I completely understand that they are scheduling about 3 weeks out but I'd rather have a tentative date that gets moved due to weather delays on other jobs than to have to wait to get a call one Friday that we're scheduled some time the next week. So at this point I'm potentially waiting to the 4th Friday of Sept to maybe find out we've been put in the schedule that next week. But so far the honesty and willingness to stand by their quoted price is very heartening. Let's hope they keep this up throughout the whole process! More reviews to come.... read more

Alan's Roofing installed my roof in March 2011. When its windy, my roof makes a "booming" sound. I called to report this to Alan's Roofing,, and I received a callback from an "Alex", who claimed to be in charge of "customer service".. Alex advised me that there would be a $95 charge for the "inspection" if there was no problem found with the roof. I am a senior on a very limited income. It seems that this is a sort of blackmail leveed on customers, because how many people can afford to fork over almost 100 bucks for nothing? It seems to me that this is a very convenient ploy of Alan's Roofing to skip liability for their shoddy work. I will never recommend this roofing company to anyone, and you can be sure that I will tell all of my family, friends and neighbors to beware Alan's Roofing, Brooksville FL. For your own peace of mind, do not use them. read more

I was completely satisfied with Allen's roofing from the sales department, to the crew working on the house. All were polite, the crew did an awesome job, and considering they replaced the roof, the clean-up was amazing . The price was affordable and they seem to have the estimating of costs down, our sales person Ted explained that some things they wouldn't know until roof was off. My issue is not with the work they did but the customer service and extra charge. Rudy( salesman ) was all sweet when I signed the contract. He explained that ANY costs above the quote would be clearly discussed with me before they proceeded. But once the ink was barely dry, he became rude and condescending in his manner. He would delay in returning my calls and would never give a direct answer when you did speak with him. My husband gave them the ok to for an additional $100. I get the bill after the job was done for an additional $1500!!!! We were told, "Oh there was more damage then we expected." The damage to the roof was CLEARLY visible with what needed to be replaced/repaired. In addition, they took NUMEROUS pictures. Unsure of why they state it was a "surprise to see more damage". We also had a delay as Alans pulled the wrong permit and the city caught them. The city made them stop the work to get another permit as well as have a structural engineer come to our home. I sent them a certified letter that I was NEVER informed of the additional cost of $1500. I requested NOT to be contacted by Rudy and wanted something showing I agreed to the additional amount. What did I get? A notice with intent to file a lien on my home! No response. No call. I left voicemail last night asking for a call back. Steve called me and left me a voicemail. ( I was at work ) and stated "we do this all the time".There is nothing to discuss, pay us in 10 days or we place a lien on your home. This is obviously a well rehearsed ploy to take advantage of people. Avoid this company at all costs or YOU will be the one with additional COST! read more

Alan's Roofing did a wonderful job on my roof. They removed old style barrel tile, re-nailed my entire roof, applied peel and seal, and installed Owens Corning Duration II shingles. Alan's Roofing gave me a lifetime warranty with a 50 year non-rated warranty. The warranty is also transferable if I ever sell my home.They were the only company that worked with me regarding job price. I also got a free skylight from them. I had a total of five companies that gave me estimates; yet Alan's Roofing beat them all pricewise and material quality wise. The crew was polite and careful with all my garden shrubs and trees. All my neighbors are commenting how beautiful my home looks and that the workmanship is excellent regarding shingle installation. Remember if you buy quality materials the pros at Alan's Roofing will make your home look like new. Contracted company Jan 2015 to replace roof. Did not finance paid in full. Everything seems fine at first. After less than a year roof seals were failing and had to be repaired. Another year later more seals failing. Instead of cutting and repairing TPO, they just put silicon over failing seals. Poor workmanship resulted in several areas of roof pooling water. Result of pooling water trickling totally destroyed sunroom roof. May 2018 called for estimate of sunroom roof (12'x24') and repair, again, of installed roof. Rudy came climbed half way up a ladder too pictures. Never got up on roof to inspect damage. was then quoted for 530sqft. When I asked why I was being quoted for almost double the size of roof was told we can't make money off of small roof so we increase the size to make profitable. Wanted to charge me almost $4000 for 12'x24. Was not willing to pay that much, but still needed roof they installed repaired. For almost 3months straight called repeatedly to get someone to come fix roof. Even requested the company owner to call no response. Dave Mura Would not return calls, or answer texts. After 2.5months he calls and says someone fixed it. Never called to setup visit just sent someone to my house when no one was home. And once again just threw silicon on pooling areas and said it was fixed. Yet roof still leaking water. Now the water started leaking inside main house. When I finally got in touch with Dave Mura he said "I'm not gonna fix it if you aren't going to pay" mind you roof was still under warranty. After he apologized for being rude he said someone would come to fix. another month went by with nothing. And when crew finally showed up, gave no advance notice just showed up one day. Went up on roof to document work, when workers pulled up 3year old TPO, the pooling has turned the wood black. It was totally rotted. And Fernando the roofer actually said to me "this was done properly when it was installed, at the time we were still experimenting with TPO. I was stunned that he admitted they didn't know how to install properly. After repairing it properly and not just patching with silicon. Sunroom roof stopped leaking, and remember they said their roof did not cause sunroof damage, but now it not leaking. Safe to say their roof damaged sunroom roof. Now 4mnths later and water once again coming down the walls in main house. Called Dave Mura, phone rang twice and sent to voicemail. So I'm pretty sure he declined the call, so I sent him video of of water running down wall, no response. Called company phone number explained what was happening and needed someone to call me back and come fix, no one returned my call. Called 4 times on 12/20/18. And they will not call me back. At this point I will be retaining a lawyer. And I have video and pictures of the poor work, as well as texts between myself and Dave Mura showing timeframe between requesting the work in May, and nothing being done until August. I was hoping Alan's roofing would just do the right thing and replace the roof properly instead of having to take legal action but it doesn't seem like that will happen read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I called Alan's to find and fix a roof leak. The estimator assured me the leak was coming into my kitchen from where the flat lanai roof met the house roof, but Alan's does not make repairs to a flat roof and it must be replaced. This cost me $2,430.20. Rain continued to come through my roof into the kitchen, ruining the ceiling and wall. After several calls and visits, they could not locate the leak, refused to do a hose test, and the rains continued. I personally went into the attic during a rain, found the leak, and again contacted Alan's. They estimated another $1,599 to fix the leak. I had already spent $2,430.20 for work that was not needed, and did not fix the problem, but neither the estimator nor the manager, would consider giving me a discount; the excuse being that my flat roof was pretty old and needed to be replaced anyway. Needless to say, I called an individual roofer, and the leak was repaired for less than Alan's price. I will never again use Alan's Roofing. read more

Roof was finally installed on March 9, 2016. No one from the company followed up with me for quality assurance or satisfaction and when I was finally contacted by the company, they were calling for remittance of final payment. I let them know that a couple of the shingles weren't laying down and the contractor told me that it would take three weeks for them to lay down. I let him know that's great, because it's already been three weeks since the install. Contractor was supposed to show up by 6pm that evening to fix the issue and receive payment. I waited until 7pm for him to show up and then had some errands to run. When I returned, I found the bill attached to the front door with comments on it saying "possible nail pop". I figured they were going to fix it and I didn't follow up with them. I was contacted on 4/13/16 asking for payment. I let him know that the issue had still not been resolved and he let me know that he would be there by 6pm that evening. Contractor showed up at 6pm asking for the check. I let him know that he needed to resolve the issue with the shingle. He went up on the roof and tried to nail it down. He let me know that it's purely cosmetic and not structural. I'm not used to shotty work being done for me and I expect things to be done correctly. He said that he would go back to the office and put in a workorder to get it fixed, but would require the check immediately. I was told by the sales guy that I would not have to pay until I was satisfied with the job and I kindly let him know that he can have the check once the issue was resolved. The contractor wasn't having it and said that the only way he would fix it is if I pay them first. He then instructed me that if I didn't pay immediately, he would put a lien against the property and that I would be responsible for all legal fees associated with it. I am fully willing to pay for the work and I've had the check ready in hand for almost a month now, but I need it fixed. Contractor kept saying it's a warranty repair. To me a warranty means if something goes wrong after the work has been completed; however I don't believe the job to be completed until both sides agree that the work has been finished. I would not recommend Alan's Roofing and I will not be using them for any of my other properties. It's sad that a company would risk bad publicity over something so simple to fix. They have left a bad taste in my mouth and I wish I would have gone with Total Home Roofing or Collis Roofing. read more
