I called to ask someone to check out my AO Smith heat pump water heater that stopped working all of a sudden this December. It has an energy efficient heat pump setting that has been working well for the last year. But they said it wouldn't work in the cold and that's why it had stopped anything all of a sudden. BS. There had been plenty of cold days in the last year where it worked just fine. Our water heater broke on Thanksgiving Day and after contacting PG&E, we found out that the faulty part was a recalled item. We called State (manufacturer) and they recommended their warranty plumber which happens to be about 27 miles from my house. Our water heater is still under warranty and part being recalled, they said they will cover part and labor but not the Travel expense that C&M quoted me - $165 - which I thought was absurd. But we need hot water and by then had already gone 5 days with it. So we are at the mercy of the plumbing company and the manufacturer. We paid it but for those who do not live within the 20 miles radius of this company should probably not use them. I have to add that their technician fixed my problem in 20 mins!! But for no fault of ours, $165 is a lot to pay for mileage!! I wish I can charge my clients that much when I have to go into their offices!! read more

These guys do a lot of different work but also cover the warranties on Whirlpool water-heaters. My burner assembly went bad = cheap Chinese parts in America. Trump needs to get this fixed! We need American water heaters with better quality American burner assemblies!!! Ha....anyways C & M is professional, has great service and the repair cost was respectable on my end. Terrible experience. Apparently this firm is the only one that can handle certain water heater warranty work, which is very unfortunate. Called and left message but got no response. A couple of days later my wife was able to connect and was told to get certain info from the warranty company, which we did. C&M then came out, looked at the water heater, and left. I called a couple of days later and was told - rudely - that we didn't get the information they told us to get. After a week without hot water we gave up and bought a new water heater rather than continue trying to deal with these people. read more

Update 5/27/19 After calling 3 times Monday morning, and being told each time the manager would call me right back, the third time (6th call over the past 12 days) I told them I wanted my money back or I'd file in small claims court. Soon after that last call, I finally received a callback. The gentleman was polite and apologetic, and seemed to know the whole story already. I told him I was out of town all last week and my wife has been out of hot water while waiting for his return call. We agreed to cancel my check. I'm picking up my replacement heater this afternoon and calling our usual plumber we're happy with. Luckily my wife goes to the gym every day or I'd be looking for a new wife too. read more

There aren't words for how amazing these guys are. The property company that I rent from sent them out after said property company ignored a sewer leak for over a week. The first time I called C&M was a few years ago when heavy rains were causing flooding in the Sacramento area. I had a concerning buildup of water in my backyard due to the only two drains being completely plugged causing water to get inside my finished outbuilding. I was in a situation that if I could not quickly get the drains cleared water would be wicking up the walls and cause serious water damage. I did a quick search for plumbing companies in my area and found C&M Plumbing (C&M). Mike from C&M picked up my call, but was unable to come out immediately due to numerous calls he received before mine. He understood the urgency of my situation and provided me with advise to help me clear the drains on my own. As suggested, I went to the local hardware store and bought a rubber water "balloon" that attached to my garden hose. I sent it down the drain pipe as far as possible, turned on the water as high as it could go and less than 15 minutes later both drains suddenly cleared. Within an hour, the build up of water in my yard was gone and I was able to mop up the water inside my outbuilding. Mike's genuine concern and generous advise saved me from hundreds of dollars of damages and I promised myself that if I ever needed a plumber I would call C&M. Last year, during the Memorial Day weekend I got that opportunity. The handle from the water main to my house suddenly blew off. It appeared that it had rusted over the years and disintegrated. Water was forcefully spraying out where the handle was once located and without it, I could not shut the water off. I called C&M and Mike advised me to turn the water off from the street junction box and told me he would be at my house first thing in the morning. C&M arrived timely and quickly fixed the water main shut off for the house with a much improved version of a shut off valve. Just now I was searching the internet for C&M Plumbing for another situation that if neglected will end up being another emergency call and this how I ran into this website.
