We were first told we couldn't be towed due to a miscommunication in someone believing we had a 5th wheel, when we actually just had a 5' × 8' trailer with us. Juan thankfully double checked this information and we got the message across of what the situation was. He arrived sooner than expected and got our car and trailer to the nearest dealer (in Clovis 1.5 hours away). My family and I were traveling to Austin, TX on a Sunday night and the alternator went out in our…read more26' Uhaul truck. Trans-Matic Wrecker Service was called out to assist us with a tow and to possibly fix the alternator. We were literally between two small towns and Uhaul suggested that he tow us an hour in the wrong direction to stay the night. Calvin our driver came to the rescue and was able to get Uhaul to realize there were closer towns in the right direction and convinced them that would be the best remedy. Not only did he have to go 120 miles roundtrip to make sure we got into our hotel safely but he also came out the next day on another 120 mile roundtrip drive to replace the alternator and ensure my family and I were back on the road and on schedule. The 2 closer Uhaul service contractors didn't want to come change the alternator and Calvin didn't have to either... but he said he couldn't just leave us sitting there and came to the rescue. Trans-Metic Wreckers cared when no one else did. They'll take care of you as good as they take care of your vehicle. Well, he screwed me the first time... shame on him. But I let him screw me on another car... shame…read moreon me. The first car he overcharged me over $600 and made it run better, but I still had problems and I replaced the computer and it ran perfect. The second car he replaced timing gear set and did head work and it left his shop noisy, but he said it was ok. Then it had a leak from a bad o-ring that he replaced, so I took it back and he charged another $80 to replace that. Then the gear set went bad again because of tensioner and then he put in another new timing gear set and charged me another $280 and now it runs quiet. He claimed no fault. He also noticeably scratched my new hood, tired to fix it, but it still looks bad. He seems like a nice guy, but he sure screwed me over.

I tried Marez Auto and Albert answered on the 2nd ring. He was super nice as I explained my issue. Water Pump died and started pouring water out on my way from OK to Artesia. I was literally 3 minutes away from his shop and was able to limp over. Albert pressure tested the system and sure enough the water pump was shot. He ordered the water pump and new belt locally right away. Once he got the parts off, he also noticed that the idler pulley was nicked up and not working properly. While waiting for parts he suggested a good place to eat for breakfast/lunch, just a block away and good food. He completed the repair quickly once all the parts were received and I finally made my way back home. Albert is a great mechanic and good person in general. If I'm ever in the area again and need mechanic work, I would not hesitate in taking any vehicle to him for repair. God bless Albert.

As I pulled into town on New Years Eve, I started getting oil warning lights in my vehicle that I had just had service done (including an oil change) a few days prior. I was traveling with my dog and young daughter, and we were due to leave early in the morning on January 1st. When I woke up that morning, I started calling around to see if any auto repair shops might happen to be open on New Years day at 8 am. As you might expect, they were not. When I happened to call Blacklock, I was thrilled when someone answered the phone. Not only where they open, but Joel was super friendly and told me to come on by after I explained the situation. We headed over there and Joel immediately got to work. They ran a diagnostic on the car and found that a bunch of warnings were popping up - all things that I thought had been addressed with my service the prior week back in Austin. He noted that the fee for the diagnostic was going to be $150 before doing it, and I told him to go through with it as I didn't really have much of a choice. Another guy came (owner, perhaps?) and they finished up the diagnostic. The theory was that the place that I had worked with in Texas didn't reset the warnings, but that all was well. Checked the oil to confirm and reset the warnings. I was relieved and grateful for the fact that they were open and welcomed me in on New Years Day, but they weren't done yet. When it came time to head out - they told me not to worry about the diagnostic charge... on the house. I was blown away! Gave a healthy tip as a show of gratitude and then we headed back on our way to Santa Fe. I'm not one to go and write reviews for places, but this one absolutely deserved the 5 star shout out. If they treat others anything like how they treated us - a no brainer recommendation from me. Thanks, gents!
