The staff was friendly and attentive. We got to try the all the oysters and many appertizers, along with one dessert. Everything was thoughtfully crafted with deep knowledge for ingredients, appreciation for flavors, and an eye for creativity. The mussels dish stood out as the most memorable experience. Honestly, the entire experience here was one of the greatest highlights of our trip. We look forward to coming back someday!

Not worth the hype at all. Below average fare at above average prices. I came here because,…read moreaccording to numerous online sources, this is the place to try while in Copenhagen. They are all wrong. I ordered the oysters, mussels, bread and seaweed butter, tomato salad, and languste. In order, the oysters were pretty good. They were one of two things I enjoyed. However, my stomach didn't feel very good after eating them. The mussels were below average. I've had much better, there just wasn't much flavor to them and the sauce they were in tasted fairly average. The bread and seaweed butter were very good--the bread specifically. The seaweed butter just tasted like butter. The tomato salad was average, it was a little too creamy for my liking. The languste was horrible. I was assured it would taste similar to lobster, it in fact did not. It had a rather funny taste to it, that I wouldn't describe as good. It was meant for two and neither of us found it appealing. It was 1800 DKK, about $275, we shouldn't have ordered it. The establishment is extremely busy, they seem understaffed. Their staff are running this way and that way and it's difficult to get someone's attention. Ambiance is alright. I think if it was a little less busy then it would be nice but the sheer volume of people subtracts from the vibe. Overall do not recommend and I wouldn't come back. Very overrated.

We liked the food too. My daughter got the shrimp and egg toast which was nice but it wasn't really enough for a full meal. She shared my Baked Hake main, which was lovely. Also the French Fries were to die for. Our server was knowledgeable and kind. We had an excellent experience at Cap Horn.

There were outside tables, but it was a bit chilly, so we opted for the nearly deserted inside restaurant. We had a table near the window, so it was a great view. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. I ordered the gravlax open-faced sandwich, which is smoked salmon (very similar to lox) on an excellent sour dough bread. I opted to skip the mustard sauce, but the sandwich was perfect. My wife had the potato open-faced sandwich, which consisted of new potatoes, organic rye bread, lemon mayonnaise (romaleid), fried onions and pickled pearl onions. She really enjoyed it, along with her Spritz drink. Denmark seems to be one of those countries, where you cannot order tap water. Fair enough. However, our water consisted of an open carafe (which I'm sure was tap water), for which we were charged 50 Krona ($8). This seems high for tap water.

Seating along the canal enjoying both local beer and local drink and local dish (good but just good). Went here for recoup, recharge after all morning walked and for some light lunch. Overall, great location and it would be much better at night for the lighting.

Picked this spot, not only cause it was by the Canal and advertised as Danish.. but also it's located next to this delicious hot dog food stand I enjoyed earlier after the Canal Tour - has to be good vibes right?! ;) Heh Plenty of outdoor umbrella seating with lovely string lights - most sat outside, as September weather in Denmark feels like AC. Plus, who doesn't love a great view? :) ==BEER== First thing's first, BEER. The waiter recommended Tuborg Classic (more malty) as it is their staff local favorite. Ordered that and Carlsberg (lighter like Pilsner) and I would agree, Tuborg's got a nicer, stronger flavor. ==FOOD== Ordered the chicken tartlet, which reminded me of a flakey biscuit chicken pot pie. It was good but my favorite was the Danish Meatballs!!! Wonderful blend of soft savory meat and sweet cranberry sauce, mixed with gravy! OOO and top it off, a sweet lady in front of us RAVED about the chocolate cake from her three course meal so just had to order it too. SO FUDGEY GOOD... very rich fudge Belgium chocolate with rich vanilla ice cream. I loved it sprinkled with the crumbles texture! I also enjoyed how the waiters were all so kind and willing to converse about local stories with the customers/tourists - friendly staff really added to the great experience here.
