Don't be fooled by this obscure and unassuming exterior. We decided to eat here after Flat Iron across the street had an hour wait. We were greeted when we walked in and seated right away. After perusing the menu we opted for the classic vanilla shake and freaky shake. WOW, that freaky shake is a meal alone. Menu is broad with choices from appetizers, salads, chicken, burgers and vegan! We decided to split a burger and fries since the shakes were filling. We couldn't pass up the Mac and Cheese balls, so good! Friendly staff, reasonable prices and great ambiance. Next time were in London, this will be out go to spot. Big Fan! read more

It was likely the blue cheese talking but this was one heck of a burger. I got a side salad instead of fried and it was nicely dressed. My son had Mac and cheese and it was more cheesy than creamy. My partner got fries with his burger and they were yummy. All in all it was a great spot. read more

I'm gonna be that little brat and rate Byron on it's SALAD! I know right, I'm THAT girl. When I ordered my salad (the only one of the large group to order a salad) I got multiple comments, but you know what, I don't care. You want to throw up because I got a salad? Go right ahead, the salad is going in my mouth not yours. That's actually what someone said to me. hahahaha ok anyway, I'll talk about this salad. It was REALLY GOOD! It was their avocado, quinoa, and baby kale salad with a really nice dressing. The textures were great and it was nice to see quinoa, and the entire thing was filling and delicious. It's nice to know that I can go to a burger joint with a bunch of meat eaters and have the option of multiple veggie burgers AND SALADS! Well done Byron, well done. Their mac and cheese though, not so great. However, service was excellent. They were very accommodating and didn't freak out when our large group started moving around and causing chaos. Byron is always good for a posh burger and thus place is no exception. Friday lunch it had a good atmosphere both local workers and tourists. The burger was cooked well, staff were efficient and friendly, had a nice pint of Camden pale ale, definitely worth a visit. read more

Byron is probably the best burger place in London hands down! You 100% get what you pay for, whether it be the Classic, Cheese, Byron or one of the crazy specials they have like the B-Rex, Holy Cheesemas or Byronissimo none of these burgers disappoint. One of the busier Byron's I've been to - owing to the Soho location and resulting lunch crowds - but one of the best. The staff are really friendly and generally nice folk, who manage to get through the crowds without much of a wait. It's a really big room, so feels spacious even at the busiest of lunchtimes, and the food hasn't yet disappointed in any way. I'd maybe avoid coming with a larger group, given the availability of tables at busy times, but for 2-4 of you, it's great. I've had disappointing meals at other Byron locations; overcooked onion rings, dogs-dinner of a burger, burnt courgette fries.... but the worst experience I've had at this location is a milkshake where the chocolate chips were too big for the straw. Oh, and the resulting food coma.... it was worth it... Can't fault the burgers at Byron when they are done well - they aren't as big or varied in choice as the likes of GBK but they do pack good flavour. The "chilli queen" has a moreish quality and the current special, the Rarebit, is amazingly tasty. Melted, mature cheddar with bacon and mustard mayo are a fine combination. Oh, and you get a pickle with your burger. I love pickles. A decent burger can be yours for a tenner, in a lively venue with nice people. Why wouldn't you? read more

As a vegetarian you tend to steer clear of burger joints. The tired old combo of the word "bean" and "burger" pretty much send shivers down my spine. Enter Byron to save the day with an interesting and innovative twist on the good old veggie burger. A beautiful combo of grilled Portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, goat's cheese, baby spinach, tomato, red onion and aioli that tastes as good as it looks (and sounds). I've had this at a few of the branches and I've yet to be disappointed. Couple it with courgette fries (where have you been all my life??) and you're on to a winner. Maybe because it's a decent burger I can get on almost every street corner at this point and damn, baby, those courgette fries, every time I think I'm out, they keep pulling me back in! I hadn't been to this location before and love that they've Craft-Beerified it! Grant T. had a flight of beers on hand when I arrived, so I didn't even look at the rest of the beer menu. I've been to Byron a multiple of times (I'm talking twenty plus) and I'm only going to place a review on the whole chain on this restaurant for one reason (lucky you if you've stumbled on this). It's because it tastes the same everywhere I've been. "Uh oh, red alert, red alert. Kid, at a higher teir chain every restaurant should be able to put its own twist on the main dishes. You're just making this seem like a pathetic excuse for a fast food chain" Firstly, get over yourself. Secondly, I think what's great about fast food (not a major advocate for it but I'll continue) and restaurants like Byron is that you know what you're getting yourself in for. There's already that confidence instilled in you that you're not going to leave disappointed. Now, why is Byron not that "pathetic excuse for a fast food chain" you ask? -The meat is of a superior quality to any other burger place for the same or even double the price. -Staff are friendly and quick to serve you. -Great drinks available, from Oreo milkshakes to bottled beer there really is everything. -Variety on the menu, not just one kind of burger. Lot's of different choices and you can even make your own. -Good chips/sides. -You'll leave satisfied. -Friendly atmosphere. -THE PRICE For the quality of what you get this place is an absolute bargain. "Pfft, really kid? Five stars? Don't mess us about, there's obviously better burger places.." You're right, there probably is a better burger in London (surprise surprise..). However, Byron is just one of those places you can go regardless of what you're doing and not feel out of place and know that you're going to have a good experience. That "better burger" is likely going to be a lot more expensive, I'm not "tight" but I'm not a massive fan when you're reaching the old 20 mark for just the burger. I actually haven't found a better burger, I really haven't.. (Maybe because I don't try them when I go to stakehouses but my point still stands). That's why it gets five. read more

Ah a new Byron! At the end of Carnaby street and a bit to the right - its fairly close to work and we decided to give this one a go the other day. We were 6 of us and I was a bit worried about whether we'd find tables if were to just walk in. But there is plenty of sitting room (incl. downstairs) and there is one thing I quite enjoyed - circular tables! Great for talking - very democratic. The burgers are as expected and the service is decent as well. One gripe I did have was regarding the ketchup. I'm guessing Heinz ketchup is the best there is and this runs across all the restaurants in the Byron chain. I saw many customers shaking their Heinz till their arms dropped off but not a drop of ketchup comes out. For a second I was even wondering if the ketchup bottle was only "part of the ambience" :P read more

It's another Byron! And like all Byrons, they have a few advantages: They're quick and easy to get into and you know what you're getting. The burgers are average at best, but better than some places I've tried to get them around London. This time I had the Hot-A-Doodle-Doo special, which is a chili marinated chicken breast with crispy onions, lettuce and ranch. And it was alright. Nothing amazing. Chili could have been hotter, and I should have trusted my instinct to get blue cheese on top. And it would be better if it were done in a hot wing style (Deep fried and smothered in buffalo sauce). But it was nice none-the-less. Byron is also good for it's great selection of local beers. A flight of Kernel beer? Hell yes! It's about 1/3 of a pint per beer and five selections, so it was nice to have. This Byron is nice because it's quite close to Carnaby street as well. So if you're in the need for quick and easy dining with average burgers, Byron is the place for you. Amazing food and service! It can be a bit loud above, but downstairs the noice is a bit lower. My husband and I loved their cheese burgers and sweet potato fries. The meat, seasoning, and sauces are delicious! We were also seated right away and our drinks and food came out at a good time. Prices were really reasonable for the taste and quality of the food. Yep, franchise, but one I like. So, I'm pescetarian which means I can't extoll the virtues of Byron's meat pattie delights. They don't do a fish option which leaves me with their "Veggie", the only non-meat option they offer. When I first came to Byron I considered this a let down, especially compared to Gourmet Burger Kitchen that gives you a choice of about 3! But I underestimated Byron how deliciously tasty their Veggie was. It's a portobello mushrom, goats cheese, roasted red pepper, tomato, lettuce and mustard...and there's some garlic in there too! So, it's a veg stack. "What's the big deal" you say. You had veg stacks, I've had veg stacks and they're easy enough to make. I agree and had exactly the same opinion until I bit into my first Byron Veggie. It's seriously, salivatingly delicious. Juicy and flavoursome. But be warned, it's also messy. I have long abandoned all efforts at being graceful when trying to eat this "burger" - don't bother it'll just get messier. Surrender and you'll enjoy it even more! I've been to a few of the outlets inthe franchise and the "Veggie" is always of the same standard. I also had their skin-on chips - these can vary from one place to the next. I've had some greasy ones at one of the other places. But not here, they were fine. And a glass of Chenin blanc, which is a hell of a lot nicer htantheir Chardonnay. Oh, and they're consistent. This one in Soho was nice, with an energetic buzz from the customers enjoying their meals. Our waiter was quirky and chirpy. Liked the contrived, dilapidated-style decor downstairs. After a long week at work there's nothing better than a team outing to get burgers, well for me there isn't! We headed over to Byron Burgers and had a great night! I opted for the Miami Slice which is currently a special; it's a classic Byron 6oz patty, and a newly tested toasted sourdough bun, with super crunchy shoestring crisps, melted American Cheese, a spicy paprika ketchup, and salami. It comes with a pot of pork scratchings and a tub of hot sauce on the side so it's literally perfection! I finished my meal with a honeycomb sundae that was also delicious! Despite London being..'food chain city'..which is sad...this place holds it own as a quick convenient burgers and fries eatery. Fair quality and a good price for Central London. Had a great Burger here tonight with a girlfriend. Chips were just ok, but burger was fab and that's what I came for, so... Hooray for the burger! Especially liked the sauce, whatever that was. Creamy and good seasoning. It didn't need catchup which IMHO is a mark of a quality burger. They had great beer selection, lots of craft brews if you're into that sort of thing, which I am, so ordered a BrewDog and was thoroughly pleased. And I must say also that our waiter was a riot. Kind and personable, not pushy or neglectful, chatted us up but not too much and just was a good guy. We (my friend and I) topped the meal off by sharing a chocolate shake which was fantastic. If I didn't love Shake Shack so much this would be my new favourite. Oh, what the hell. Byron on Beak St. is my new #1 burger spot. In London, that is.
