I wanted to write an honest review about my experience at this transmission specialist Bob and his…read moreteam at Crom. I showed up with a transmission that had been, at quite an expense to myself been rebuilt in a faulty manner which no one wanted to touch. I had been ripped off and after spending 4.2K on what was supposed to be a 'high performance' transmission from Monster Transmission I couldn't even use first gear out of the box from Monster, and had a blinking O/D light. I am about to deploy and I didn't have time to wait another 6 weeks for a turn around to send it to FL and then get MAYBE a non-defective product. Bob sat in the vehicle with me and saw the codes that I was getting and that the gear shift solenoids were shifting properly. After pulling the valve body and determining that it wasn't the valve body that was faulty, I made the decision to have him pull the transmission and rebuilt it AGAIN.  This was after I saw how many other customers had been ripped off by monster transmissions. I mean I had to REALLY dig to find it on the internet and I regretted I didn't see the reviews sooner.  What he found was absolutely unbelievable. The clutch packs which was out of tolerance of .01 x4 which was the main culprit preventing first gear from working but also a blown out valve plug a broken, deep pan bracket which he had to fabricate a fix for, corrosion on the 'replaced high performance shims', There was another section that had been installed 180degrees from Ford Specifications as well. Bob felt so bad for me after 3 days of troubleshooting and rebuilding even though he replaced all the rusted pieces and parts that they had 'replaced' at monster free of cost to me. Can you believe that Bob found that monster transmissions had put in rusted components into a transmission!? SMH for monster trans. I digress, He re-shimmed everything else back to spec and the transmission is very nice.  He had pictures and showed me in person all the replaced components as well. There was no mystery as to what he had installed and it was an honest and transparent experience.  I wish I had the sense to just have sought out Crom from the beginning! I would have been back on the road within 2 weeks with his 2 year unlimited mile warranty and not spent twice that for a piece of junk that was just painted nice! It now has positive firm shifts and it operates as it should. I don't know if I'll be re-funded by monster but I now trust Crom transmissions to rebuilt my transmissions. I know that Bob rebuilding my transmission and unraveling the problems was tough but he solved it and I'm as happy as I can be and I know that he could have charged me much more for the parts that he had to replace. he loves what he does and the whole shop was awesome to work with as well! I came out 500-800 ahead and only paid for labor.  I trust these guys they are professional and love what they do! Happy to do business with them again in the future. Now a loyal customer!

Crom was recommended by many in this town. They quoted a bit high for an isolated reverse repair,…read moreand much higher for a rebuild. This prompted me to go with a "new" remanufactured Fraser 4R75E. They did all the labor. They charged a lot, but their reputation makes up for it. The staff is obviously capable and professional. If you need ANY work done on your car, Todd is your guy!!! Great customer service, TRUSTWORTHY and…read morethe best, most reasonable prices you'll find! A friend and co-worker recommended Todd to me after I told him my son's brakes on his 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid were very squeaky (a car that I've found mechanics in the past wont touch due to it being a older Hybrid), so I reached out via phone/text and told him what was wrong, he recommended I get brake pads and told me I could drop the car off and he'd get it done first thing in the morning; soon as he got it up, he had the brake pads done very quickly, sent me photos and videos of how bad my current brake pads were and sent me video of how bad my rear bearings were and walked me through the parts I needed to get and was able to get me in for an appt the very next morning. Once complete, he took the time to explain to me exactly what was wrong and why it was so important to get it fixed asap. I let Todd know from the get go how little i knew about cars and he took the time to show me and explain everything to me in a way that made it easy for me to understand. I got there knowing I probably needed new brake pads, but Todd took the time to inspect everything while he was in there to make sure nothing else was wrong and my son got the car safely back on the road. Once we picked up the car, the squeaking of the brakes was gone and the loud noise which apparently was coming from his bearings/hubs being so rusted/fused together was now gone as well. Cant recommend Todd enough! Very knowledgeable, super thorough, and you can't beat his prices!

I recommend Dorwart's garage to anyone, especially Mini Cooper owner living in Jacksonville, NC…read more The owner owns many Mini Cooper too! :) They provides the best and quick service. They fixed my spark plugs on the same day while I'm waiting there. Also they found out my oil leak because where I had oil change didn't put gasket. Dorwart's garage found out the problem and fixed in less than 30 min without asking a penny. Amazing service!!! They provide full auto check up for only $29.99! I would definitely bring my Mini Cooper back to Dorwart's garage if I need anything to get done.

Before coming to the shop my only intention was to get my front left headlight replaced. After they…read moreexplained how much simpler it would be to replace both at the same time, I decided that it was a better option to do that. So, both headlights were replaced-which would've saved time on being in a shop. Before that, I kept going in, one after the other to replace. This makes much more sense. Also, there was an electrical issue I had been dealing with for the longest time in my Subaru, and for the first time, this specific shop did a diagnosis and predetermined what the problem could be! Amazing! I was at a complete loss before they had looked at it. Being that I decided to get an entirely new vehicle, I no longer required their services. But, I would've had the opportunity to have my electrical system fixed, for the first time while owning it. My air filter also felt to be cleaned out too! It smelled so much fresher after this visit. Being that all of this was done within just a couple of hours, no waiting period for "parts to come in" and an air conditioned room with Netflix to sit in? I'd recommend this spot every time. If you find yourself in a pinch or just wanting to work with authentically great people who put you first, this spot is the place for you. Great service, fast paced, great quality, and such amazingly friendly staff who are experienced and knowledgeable as well as understanding and open to helping you understand what's going on as well (and I'm speaking as I know absolutely nothing about cars). Great value/timely exceptional service.
