You can really spend hours in this store so I will definitely be back because I didn't get the chance to explore it all while I was there. They even have coffee, lemonade, and smoothies from Dakota Soda & Coffee Company that you can enjoy. I was warmly welcomed as soon as I arrived. This place is an excellent place to purchase books and the store is extremely well organized so it's easy to find what you are looking for. It's an excellent place to purchase books, toys, and gifts. They also have toys so it's an excellent place for families as well. I came in to purchase a children's book as a gift for my nephew and ended up also purchasing a shirt for him. This is an adorable book shop that has so much to offer and it's a great feeling knowing you are supporting locally owned businesses! I will definitely be back!

Traveling from Fort Lauderdale through North…read moreDakota, I stopped at the Lewis and Clark Trail Museum; within whose quaint campus this coffee shop is nestled. After an hour and a half immersed in the exhibits at the museum, I stopped in for a cup of coffee and met Kathy "Jesse" James, the store's owner. Her family goes back multiple generations in North Dakota... A real pioneer family. She still owns the family ranch and was a wealth of knowledge around the museum, its artifacts and exhibits and the history behind it all. What should've been a 30 minute stop for coffee, lasted for three hours, at which point she had to gently kick me out. In a world of Starbucks and uninspirational national brands permeating historic towns everywhere, James Gang Java is a real coffee shop, locally owned and filled with local history. I'd go so far as to say the history and character in the coffee shop is as impressive as the history in the museum. Kathy makes great coffee, has a colorful family story and is a no nonsense part of North Dakota history. Don't pass her by!

Upon arriving a few years ago..my T-Mobile service needed to be retired. At that time, there was no Verizon retailer (you know, the one in front of Wal-Mart)...and Wal-Mart itself didn't offer Verizon yet either. It was order online or venture into the "local" retailers. I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with Kotana. The ladies who helped me open up a new Verizon account and get a new iPhone were so great to deal with! Because I wanted the new iPhone 5, it needed to be ordered. They were so professional and fast and notified me right away when my phone came in. I didn't have a single problem with Kotana and given my length of time in Williston..this was a very welcome change!
