Love to bring my kids for books and random little toys they have for sale across the store. If you stop by definitely try out their coffee. What a lovely surprise to find this sweet store in Williston. I came out to visit the area and pick up a book of poems by a local writer and found some other things local including other writers, artists, musicians and photographers. Western North Dakota is such an awesome and special place and to find people who support that is very cool. I had bought a coffee around the corner at the fancy coffee shop but it was so terribly weak that I didn't want to finish it. The nice older gentleman in the back made me a much stronger and better brew and we had a nice chat about this and that, the way you do in small towns. A nice visit. They have good chocolates and snack as well as a ton of good books and toys, things for kids and grown ups - everyone. PS - The man who made the coffee is the owner, and as others have said, very personable and friendly. read more

This place is amazing! I have been here 5 or 6 times in the past two months. Chuck (the owner) has recommended two fantastic books and there is a great spot in the back for quick coffee dates/meetings. FYI- THEY HAVE THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE EVER! Apparently, it is Chuck's grandmother's recipe. Order it! Have kiddos? There are toys all around the store and a fantastic children's/tween area. read more

I was told to visit Books on Broadway for a good cup of coffee and a step away from the misery that is the oil boom in North Dakota. Books on Broadway is a classic independent bookstore with a respectable selection, in addition to a friendly and hospitable staff. On the long winter days, I couldn't think of a better place to pass the time in their cafe! Also, they have THE BEST cup of coffee in Williston. I believe it is the Allegro brand which is carried by Whole Foods. read more

This is such a great shop! My daughters and I spent so much time exploring here. There are a lot of great books and so much more fascinating items. We absolutely love this store. Definitely would recommend to everyone to go in and see for yourself. It's more than a bookstore. read more

Lame old books that aren't interesting at all. Need to update Everything!! Get some new cool stuff. Very drab. Could use some updating on the atmosphere as well. I did like the coffee here tho...had a white chocolate mocha with extra shots. I do like the fact that they can special order a book for you.. This place could be so much more tho! It pains me. I LOVE bookstores, but this one had nothing to grab my attention. They could remodel and get some nice big comfy chairs and wifi and magazines and some new books and liven up the place and this place would be hoppin!! Please! We need a good book store in town!!! Adorable book store with a cute little cafe in the back I could sit there for hours looking thru the books.

Like so many other folks in Williston, I'm brand new in town. From the moment I walked in, it was like going back to a book shop I've always gone to. The staff was very helpful, the prices were extremely agreeable (in a place where "luxury" items are obscenely expensive), and there was no shortage of wonderful people to talk to! One man made guitars out of cigar boxes and stainers (straino-caster), someone was giving music lessons quietly in the cafe, and plenty of people were happy to just shop around. A very wonderful place to buy books, and the best social environment in Williston I've found so far! Also, it's the only place to buy guitar stings in this town, fyi. Cool place here. Thought I had been every coffee latte shop in town. This is pleasant find inside nice bookstore. Some nice and nearly unusual food items. I'm having a caramel filled chocolate egg which is quite good. Vanilla ice cream available. Old time store with some long ago nicknak but new things...fun to see that are still available if one searches...or just accidentally finds. Oh yes...the Americano and honey drink is quite good also. This is coolest place in town for coffee latte and hanging out sit or poke around. Definitely to return. read more

My place to have a cup of java and find a book on Western Frontiersman an Natives on ND ,Wy, SD . MT

Seems like a good local bookstore with a solid selection of local and regional literature and history. Unfortunately, the rude and ignorant slob who was the only employee on a busy Saturday made the store basically worthless. When asked about titles and subjects she shrugged and whined that "the boss" was out of town. Asked about any books related to Theodore Roosevelt and the national park down the road named for him and his famous ranches there, she grunted and said "I don't know." Asked about a few other titles, she gave the same response. Finally I asked her to check the computer that she was looking at during the whole time she grunted her replies. She said the bookstore did not have anything computerized. I was ready to drop $100 there, because I was there studying the area. Instead, I bought a single $12 paperback so I'd have something to read on the plane home. A real disappointment and a shame, as this town has a Walmart and little else. read more
