I'm usually very cautious about barbers. I've had a couple of atrocious experiences with beauticians, and now I look for the barber's license before I'll even sit down. And will leave if I don't see it. And will tell the person to stop if they start doing anything alarming. At Uplake, it was 100% positive. :) After walking in, the courteous crew asked if I wanted water and then had me sit down with a nice gentleman. He asked me what I was looking for and I shared my specifications. Off to the races... 25 minutes later, I'm done, the fade is sharp, everything is level, and I've paid half as much as I usually do. The people working are exceedingly humble, courteous, and grateful for the business. There's also a loyalty program for a discount off every 6th haircut. Will be back!

They found an appointment about 45 minutes out, which was helpful, though I was able to check in online immediately -- it made me think there may have been a small mix‑up with the scheduling system. I came in for a simple buzz on the sides and back (at level 1.5). It took a few tries for Kathy to get the edges even, but I genuinely appreciated her determination -- she kept at it until everything was leveled correctly. She offered to trim the length as well, but given the challenges with the edging, I decided to leave the rest for my primary stylist, Reed Alan in Admiral. At checkout, the price was adjusted to $28 for the edging. I can't really speak to the value, but I did leave with the edges looking right. Next time, I'll request Lily, since she's been consistently great.

I went back to the stylist and she said I can interlock your hair and you can wash them and they won't come out. I was hoping she would give me a discount. No she didn't and once again charged me a lot of money. It was not done cleanly which caused my locks to grow together. Not happy! I found Nawany's number at a salon that had recently closed. Explained my situation and she got me in that day. She cleaned up my and gave it a new style. Reasonably priced. Been happy ever since. I go back to her every two months.
