It was dry, didn't have pineapples, and needed to be more tender. The portion was solid though. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. Also got two lengua (beef tongue) tacos and those were amazing. Flavorful, and kinda melt in your mouth good. 5/5. The fried cheese tortillas were also delicious and my wife enjoyed her tamales too. Service was solid, the people working are pretty nice. If you speak Spanish, it's better (I'm okay at it), but English also worked. Limited parking but I always manage to get a spot in the lot. This spot carries an old school Hispanic store ambiance with fresh produce, snacks, and deli stuff like the tacos and such. I usually get my plantains from here when I don't want to drive for more than 2 minutes and they always have the quality goods. Overall, a 3.5. Glad they are in the neighborhood. If the Al pastor was good, it's easily a 4.25 for me just cause of convenience and solid tasty food.

I have not tried or bought many things at this market, but I got the caldo de res (beef soup) several times and loved it. Usually 1 serving of soup, which included 3 big pieces of beef and whatever vegetables / starches were in the soup that day (carrots, corn, yucca, etc.), could stretch to 2 meals for me. The beef was super tender and the soup very flavorful, especially after a splash of lime. Highly recommend. I never encountered any issues with the service. The market is a bit cramped but it looked like there was some seating near the prepared foods area.

From the…read morestart, it looks like Caramelo is a the place to be since there were a lot of people were picking up their orders. I think there were about 12 people in line ahead of us. Although it was the place to be, I did notice that ordering and pick up was a bit unorganized. I think it would have been more efficient if one person was ringing up the orders, and the other two people were collecting the orders. I mentioned that because when it was our turn to order, we received two significantly different prices for the cake that we were interested in. Of course, the cake ended up being the higher of the two prices. For our order we went with the tres leches cake. It was kind of interesting because I've never seen (or made) tres leches in a cake form; I've only seen it served in a pan so the excess milk would not leak out of the cake. That said, the cake was AMAZING. It was so amazing that one of party guest who isn't a fan of cakes/desserts went back for seconds. I definitely look forward to trying more items from this bakery. Interestingly enough, I really want to try the bakery's roll. I said this because most of the folks picking up orders were picking up trash bags full of these rolls.

Then visually, everything spoke to me, from the displays of imported products, to the cases of nuts in copper bowls, to the freshly prepared take home hot & cold foods at the food order counter to all the varieties of any kind of Mediterranean foods you can think of stocked within all the aisles. And did I mention the pastry counter? OMG, I was in heaven & how did I not know about this place? We came to order a take home dinner after a class we were taking and wanted to try the chicken kabob dinner. We found our way to the order counter despite my obvious distraction of everything around me. Everything on the menu looked SO good and the items in the display case were looking yummy. They had many varieties of Pinsa on display & they were tempting, but we were there for kabobs first. Judging the store/takeout by this simple dish, but very important. They have everything from traditional Persian meals, but also flatbread "pizza" called Pinsa, cheesesteaks etc. I also have been searching for Fesenjan as my usual stop has disappointedly changed the recipe. I inquired if they have it and they DO! The wonderful counter lady offered me a sample & I quickly said, Yes and it was YUMMY!! Just with that, I grew more excited. We decided to also purchase 3 different Baklava from the pastry counter (2 walnut types & 1 Pistachio). When our food was ready, we were handed this HUGE bag, for 2 dinners? 2 almost pizza boxes were in the bag and it was heavy. I kept telling my husband, are you sure this is ours? When we got home I couldn't wait to see what's inside the box. I have NEVER seen such a well packaged take home set up. Food was perfectly presented within the box as well as once we opened the lids, nothing moved. I'm still in awe & appreciate the high level of care in creating the packaging. Shows care for the food & customers. What I didn't expect & great surprise was receiving Shirazi salad and Mast-O-Khiar with our entree order. ALL the food was EXCELLENT, good portion value. I will say the Pistachio baklava was my favorite, but the other walnut baklava was also very good, I would even say THE BEST I've ever had and I've had many from almost everywhere my entire life. Please note that store hours are hour longer than kitchen hours. We just made it before kitchen closed at 8p, which we did not realize. The store looked clean, nicely stocked, very friendly staff and what I could see of the kitchen also clean & orderly. Truly a fantastic experience.

There was a self-serve area for customers to get rice, beans, and other items. Behind the counter, there was a display with pastries and another with empanadas. I ordered one chicken and a ham and cheese. I also ordered two churros. Once I saw how cheap they were, I asked to add two more. I was accidentally charged for two more empanadas. I told the lady behind the register what happened and she denied that I was charged incorrectly and I had to explain a couple of times before someone else told her exactly what I already told her and she finally fixed it. Overall, I don't think I would go back to this particular location. The empanadas were good but the churros were cold and the customer service wasn't great.

I have been to this establishment every week for over 5 years. I loved bringing my 3 young children, husband and friends here. However, today I came here with my elderly, injured mother and my young daughter. A young Brazilian cashier with dark, curly hair spoke so disrespectfully to my mother! When I asked her to show some respect to elders (and injured elders at that), she refused to serve us and take our money. What kind of cashier speaks ill to their customers and refuses to take their money!? I feel really badly for the owner of Brazilian Bakery, because he hired a cashier who refuses to sell to his customer. She literally turned our $30 away. And only because I asked her to show some respect to my elderly mother. I was flabbergasted! I asked what is the problem? She said, "The only problem here is your annoying, stupid mother." Inside I wanted to punch her in the face, but because I have class and was raised better, I told her that she is what she called my mother! I promised her that I will inform her manager and other patrons about her awful customer service and disrespect. If you are Brazilian and crave Brazilian food, go to "By Brazil" or the cafe around the corner (Americas). Not only is the food there spectacular, their staff is so respectful and warm, and they never refuse to take your money! Be advised my fellow Brazilian neighbors!
