Miska's has a great selection of domestic and craft beers, along with the majority of liquor brands and a lot of wine variations. I also noticed on my absolute most recent visit that they've begun selling CBD products, which is really great to know because the majority of CBD-focused spots I know of are in Logan Square. When I first arrived, I was warmly greeted by a middle-aged woman who was very helpful in guiding me to choose a wine; something I truly appreciated as I'm not very knowledgeable in that area. Unfortunately, my positive experience quickly turned sour when I reached the front desk to pay. I overheard the older woman at the register kindly offer the gentleman in front of me gift wrapping. When it was my turn, she didn't offer it, so I politely asked if I could have my item wrapped, as I was bringing it to see family I haven't seen in a long time over the holidays. Her reaction was startling; she gave me a look that made me feel like I'd asked for something outrageous, muttered something under her breath, and created an incredibly awkward atmosphere. To make matters worse, when I asked for my receipt after paying, she responded with the same coldness and unprofessional attitude. I don't know what her issue with me was, but I've never felt so unwelcome in a small business. It's disappointing because I came in genuinely wanting to support a local store. Sadly, after that experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere; there are plenty of other liquor stores nearby where customer service is more consistent and respectful.

I was so excited that this was one of the few stores in Chicago that began carrying Shiner Bock when it came to the city! and at a reasonable price too. The only thing I hate is that you have to spend over $10 to pay with a credit card which when I buy a 6 pack of Summer Ale doesn't work out, so fine...through in a small bottle of Captain Morgan...no wait...at that price might as well go up to the larger one, more worth the money. Most 6 packs are tagged between $11.99 and $14.99 but then there's tax added on plus a credit card fee of $0.50. You walk out paying more like $14-$18 for a 6 pack.
