BUYER BEWARE!!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! My family recently purchased several items from BuyWander, and our experience has been EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!! I purchased multiple pairs of shoes that were advertised as Cole Haan and Kurt Geiger. When I picked them up, the items were wrapped in black plastic, so I could not verify the contents. Once home, I discovered that the shoes and boxes were branded LIPHNE, not the brands advertised in the listings. My daughter also purchased a scrub set that was advertised as Allheart. The item she received was unbranded and weren't the Allheart product that was advertised. What makes this even more frustrating is that customers pay a buyer's premium on purchases, increasing the total cost beyond the winning bid price. Then, if you need to return an item, you will also be charged a restocking fee. In my opinion, customers should not be paying additional fees when the product received does not match the product that was advertised!!!!! As consumers, we rely on product descriptions, photos, and brand names when making purchasing decisions. Receiving products that do not match the advertised brand raises serious concerns about the accuracy of these listings. I have screenshots of the listings and photographs of the products received. I have contacted the company and requested a resolution. Until this issue is resolved, I would encourage anyone shopping with BuyWander to carefully inspect every purchase and compare it to the original listing before the return window expires. They Auction off merchandise that they don't even have. If they do have it. It will be broken, missing parts, or just a completely different item in package. I have spent a lot of time and money. For example they were selling bulk workout equipment as salvage pallet. A whole pallet of #1 box out of 2 to complete the item. Then at the same time have a pallet of the #2 box as a salvage auction. Absolutely Terrible Experience with BuyWander I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that other customers deserve to know what to expect. The first issue happened on June 9, 2026. I had a confirmed pickup appointment scheduled for 6:15 PM, which was clearly confirmed by text message. I left early and spent approximately 50 minutes driving to the location, arriving around 6:00 PM. As I arrived, employees were placing cones and closing off the property. When I informed them that I had a scheduled appointment and showed my confirmation, I was simply told: "We're closed." No explanation. No apology. No notification by text, email, or phone call. Nothing. Their website indicated they were open until 7:00 PM, yet they scheduled customers for pickups and then closed before the appointment time without warning. They wasted my time, fuel, and an entire evening. Unfortunately, things got even worse. On June 11, I had a rescheduled appointment at 5:15 PM. This time the facility was open, and I arrived on time. However, the level of customer service was shockingly unprofessional. Two employees were sitting at the check-in desk fanning themselves because of the heat. I completely understand that it was hot outside--I work outdoors myself. But instead of acknowledging customers or providing assistance, they completely ignored me as if I wasn't there. They continued doing their own thing, eating chips at the desk, and only afterward asked how they could help me. After checking in, I waited approximately 30 minutes past my appointment time before my order was brought out. Then came the unbelievable part. The staff informed me that they could not provide my complete order because they had LOST THE SOFA that I had won in their auction. Yes, they actually lost it. They listed the item, accepted bids, sold it, scheduled a pickup appointment, made the customer drive nearly an hour, wait on-site, and then casually informed me that they had misplaced the item entirely. This is one of the most disorganized, unprofessional, and poorly managed companies I have ever dealt with. At first I really enjoyed buy wander, I enjoyed getting things for a good price, the rush of winning something is always fun, and then that all changed. We started getting "appears new" items that you would have to be blind to think they were new. Items that were missing needed parts or flat out weren't the items that they said they were. We once got a bonus by buying an outdoor bench that turned out to be a beautiful outdoor table and chair set. Unfortunately, these issues very rarely are in the customers favor. We started getting told items were missing when we went to pick them up, we kept things and bought the missing parts, we missed return dates, which is 7 days from the auction win, not the pick up. We threw multiple items away because the cost of gas to take it back was more than the refund, but in general we were still enjoying it. Then it gets better. One day last week I went into my account and it said I couldn't bid on anything and to contact them. I called the local office to be told that I was banned because of a fraudulent return, wait WHAT?? They told me to reach out their customer service, which I did through FB messenger. I was informed that an item that I had returned a while back, and they just got to processing the return, was flagged as fraudulent because the item I received and the item I returned were either not the same or something was missing...please refer to the above mentioned prior experiences here. I asked for the item information and they didn't know, I asked for the pictures, they didn't have them. I called the local office again no one returned my calls. I went to the local office and no once knew what item it was about. Again multiple times I was told they had proof of my "fraud or theft", but they couldn't produce it. Today I get a message with the item that was supposedly fraudulently returned and their picture of the item sold. Their picture of an unopened box and the pictures they pull from the internet showing you what is supposed to be in that unopened box. They can't send me pictures of what I returned to them, or at least they won't. They have stopped returning my calls and refuse to provide any additional information. From a company who takes pictures of items from the internet, expects a lot of grace when they get it wrong and absolutely can't get it together using words like fraudulent, and intentionally took something out of the box before returning it, I am disgusted!!!! Make sure to open everything at pick up, I noticed most people do, expect not to get everything you thought was in the box, expect to drive to the location and be told they lost the item you paid for, and absolutely take pictures of everything you pick up and return. We purchased 5 cameras... 2 are completely trash, as they do not function at all. We purchased half a dozen items that were not even the same as their phoney pictures. They will list an item with 5 to 7 pictures of a similar item... then, show a last picture of the edge of what is actually in the package, which is completely different. Then, they give you a seven day grace period to return items... which includes items that were completely different than what you thought you were paying for... so, if you don't live close, and you wait an extra day to get there to make a return, it's too late... even if they gave you a completely different item than you bid on. So, you have to open every box in their parking lot and check your items... if they need electricity to function, you will have to take it somewhere to test the items. They advertised with false information and take pics without the damaged parts of their items. Such a disappointing experience. The prices can be amazing if you win an auction, but they are horrible with representing what they sell you. I purchased a "Appears New" MacKenzie Childs rolling pin with a bunch of other items. I scheduled my pick up date so that I could pick it up with another auction I won on a different night. There was no indicator that I shouldn't delay it, or notice that it needed to be picked up in a certain time frame, so I went with it. When I picked up my items, they handed me a broken rolling pin. They would not honor a refund, because the return period expired the day before I picked up. How does a return period for an item expire BEFORE it's in your possession? How can I know that they are misleading it's condition until I have it? I purchased and item in new condition and was given an item in broken condition and their policy protected them from having to do anything about it. I also bought a king size mattress. I got it home and out of the packaging and it was actually a queen. While I can still return it, the point is they really aren't validating what they are selling. They are guessing. Don't not go here. They sold me an infant car seat that was labeled "appears new". The pictures had no reference to what I would discover after buying it and brining it home. When I went to pull it out of the box, I noticed the box had a hole in it. When I got the seat out of the box, it had a piece of wood (like from a pallet) lodged into the base of the seat. Their terms of service is inherently deceptive and I'm surprised so many people have been able to return items at all. The terms of service literally says you invalidate any claim to return when you pick up the item-- according to their own legally binding contract with you (supposedly, upon any use of their website) there is NO return window, since you can't return an item you don't HAVE. And since they refuse to allow bid retractions you are technically SOL. Here's what I don't understand. How can this company advertise 7day "hassle free" returns when everything about how this company operates is a hassle but their biggest hassle seems to be the ability to return and the fairness in their return window judging by these reviews. Many warn one to "check your items in the parking lot" and many also warn that the return window could very well be over before you've even been scheduled for pick up. How is that anything BUT an enormous hassle?? Another huge predatory red flag: if you refuse to pay, they charge a 25% restocking fee NOT based on the final auction price but based on their obviously inflated Estimated original value price. So I've just won an item listed as "does not turn on" for $1 plus their premium so $1.15. Estimated value is $29.59 therefore restocking is $7.40. I'm sorry but what actual damages is this 25% arbitrary restocking free supposed to cover? How much does it cost to post an actual non-functioning piece of trash for sale on their website? And who is doing these estimates exactly, what expertise do they have on retail market values of used broken items, I wonder? Because I'm having trouble confirming that a used, broken steam cleaner piece of trash returned to Amazon is worth $29.59 and that anyone would pay anywhere near this amount for it If anything, it seems that one has to PAY to have trash removed not the other way around, therefore, BuyWander should be paying ME for the curtosey of removing their trash for them. Butif the restocking fee is always a percentage of an always inflated price I'm failing to see how this in any way is FAIR and covers some kind of COST borne by the platform.
