It was a BBQ day and we were out of propane... King Soopers was out and I felt hopeless... I didnt want my two-day marinated steak to be grill-less... Butts glowed strong like your last M&M that fell on the floor.... As I pulled up to the the store, I was impressed with the eye-candy boys who "worked the shop." They filled my tank in no time (No pun intended... Really! I have a boyfriend.... Shame on you!) But anyway, he filled that tank nice and good and then finished it off by carrying me, I mean the tank to my car. On top of that, they charged me $14.00.... $6.00 less then what Soopers charges. They have party supplies, but I am not sure if the workers come with the rentals.... I rented a chipper on 4-25. Tried using for two hours but would not chip into pieces smaller than 6-8 in .Called three times . They just said keep trying. Next they suggested that I disassemble the cutter head and reset the cutter heads and try again.I told them that's crazy. So i returned the machine. Wasted 2 hrs use and three phone calls and 2 trips- back and forth. When I returned the machine they agreed that it was way out of adjustment. Instead of a total refund they charged me half price -- HALF PRICE of broken mal-adjusted machine. And I still need to pay.???/ read more

There are two "filtered" one-star reviews for this business, both of which question the integrity of the staff/owners. I'm not sure why those reviews are filtered , but I can state that my experience is reminiscent of the tales they shared. I wish I had read them before walking through the doors of Butts Rental. This August, I went to Butts to rent a lawn edger. The staff member who assisted me was pleasant and helped me load the edger into my car. He was not so pleasant when l I returned later that day to explain that the edger would not start. He accused me of damaging it although I had literally done nothing but take it out of my car and pull the start cord. The staff member could not get the edger to start either. He became belligerent when I asked for a refund. It seemed like a simple request. Apparently, I was overstepping my rights as a consumer by asking to be refunded for something that didn't actually work. Follow-up with the owner was fruitless. I normally prefer to patronize local businesses, but not in this case. Since then, I've gone to Home Depot. read more

Went to Butts on the day before Thanksgiving. My elderly Mother lives out in East Colorado about 2 hours away and her drain was clogged. I phoned Butts and they said they had a 1/4 inch drain snake. I picked it up and got all the way out to my Mom's house and discovered it was a 1/2 inch snake. I was very bummed, but understand that people make mistakes. I drove back the day after Thanksgiving and told them about the mix up and requested the right size. They charged me full price for the wrong size snake and then told me they don't have a 1/4 inch snake. I asked to speak with the owner and the 20 year old kid behind the counter said that I was speaking with him. He was completely condescending and rude. Turns out he wasn't the owner at all. We recently rented some landscape equipment from them they were nice and helpful when I called to ask questions and to reserve a rental but when they delivered the equipment they were half an hour late and did not go over any instructions with us at the time. So when I called about a week later to ask about a charge on my credit card the manager was really unprofessional and basically called us a liar. I dont think It would have been that big of a deal for him to apologize for his staff not doing a thorough job. I was really unhappy with the customer service we recieved after they got our money. read more
