The garden area for the ceremony was so clean and had a lot of beautiful greenery and florals for our spring wedding. Cocktail hour was on the covered patio (with fans and low tables and chairs that made it more comfortable for our older guests) and had a beautiful view of the course. The conservatory (where we had the reception) was absolutely beautiful and the venue just recently had their ceiling draping permanently installed, and it just made it that much more beautiful in there. One of the things I loved about this venue was that everything was in one location, which made it easy for our guests to move from one area to the next. Everything turned out exactly how I envisioned and a huge part of that is thanks to Kelle, our day of coordinator. She made sure that everything ran smoothly, that the decor was placed where I wanted it, and that we were all taken care of. Throughout the whole planning process, Kelle was always so upbeat, helpful, and had great communication. She was always available for any of my questions and was very accommodating with any and all requests my parents and I had. The GBGC staff was extremely professional and very attentive to my husband and I and our guests the whole day. One of the biggest highlights that my friends and family are still talking about (almost two months later) was the FOOD!!! I can't even keep track of how many people have complimented and raved about the food at our wedding. I didn't realize this initially, but the venue tray passed both food AND drinks during cocktail hour. This was so nice for guests to focus on mingling and enjoying the atmosphere rather than waiting in a line the whole time. The appetizers we chose were the veg flatbread pizza, coconut shrimp, and the teriyaki beef skewers. All of them were absolutely delicious! The one thing my dad said was that the guests who were sitting at tables at the furthest end of the patio weren't able to get many appetizers because the GBGC staff were coming out the door on the opposite end and were getting swarmed by the other guests before they made their way down the patio. My dad mentioned this to the staff and they were quick to make adjustments and started sending waiters out the farthest door to get to those other guests. This was so appreciated! For dinner, we chose the beef short ribs, the chicken, and the mushroom ravioli. ALL meals were devoured and once again, my friends and family were raving about how good everything was.. even the bread and butter! Lol. It truly was our best day ever and a huge part of that is thanks to Kelle and the venue! As a foodie and a native to Los Angeles, the food in Sacramento is truly lackluster to say the least. I know... I know, what about The Kitchen and Mulvaney's, and Morton's and Ruth's Chris, and blah blah blah. Yes, those are about as good as it gets and I still have all fingers fisted in one of my hands. They serve their food buffet style, so all of your guests will attend your event and go home satisfied. That's my word! If we can only spread the food quality at GBGC to the rest of the Sacramento Valley! It was my first ever visit. It's easy to book a session via the website. Pre-pay and heaven code is sent to open the locked doors. This business is open 24/7. It is unmanned. The place is squeaky clean. It's well organized. As a newbie I did have a steep learning curve to launch the game console and the projection system. I've never played video games. After 15 minutes of button pushing the control monitor and flubber-dubbering I finally got it up and running. So #1 recommendation: offer customers the assistance of an employee who teaches a newbie how to run the simulator. If it would cost an extra $15 that would be a good value. I had a planned routine to test 5 different golf balls. I ended up having to swing 125 shots for the record and another 30 for warm-up and repeats when I flubbed a swing or when the Uneekor system did not correctly track the shot. That took 75 minutes. I only paid for an hour session. The system did not lock me out after the 60 minute session expired. My one criticism is the responsiveness of the operating system. It was S...L...O...W... Choosing a routine such as a driving range took the machine at least 2 minutes to launch. I poked the touch screen multiple times to choose a function with no beep feedback response nor the function launching. I don't know if the machine (Bay #1) was glitchy or if this is the usual quality. Once I got the system to work, the simulator did track the ball flight and display the data pretty quickly. So will I use this facility for practice or a simulated round of golf? Probably not. The allure of golf for me is being outside in the sunshine, breathing fresh air. So being in a dark room smashing golf balls into a movie screen is a completely different experience. I will return if I'm tasked again to test golf equipment that requires data gathering.

He checked in online prior to us getting there. That's a first. There was a golf tournament that began prior to our tee time. That might explain the slow play. The threesome ahead of us said the foursome ahead of them kept dropping two balls. We noticed the same golf marshal driving around the whole time. The biggest thing - at least 4 times a golf ball came flying over to the wrong fairway. And the fairways were wide opened. Must be weekend warriors. Good thing we weren't hit. The only hazard other than water - Hole 6 - the dogleg blind spot hazard. We rounded the corner and then saw the barranca. Other than Hole 6 and the balls flying into the wrong fairways, it was a nice golf course. We'd play here again.

The course has a great local feel, grass is real well maintained, the staff is always friendly, and there are a lot of nice, respectful players out here.
