Popped in here later at night with a bit of a sweet tooth and saw the good ratings here as well as the close distance to where we were. Popped in, while they were out of nearly everything (can't base a rating on that, unless its a constancy) we did choose to grab some soft serve and a slice of cake to share. The soft serve, to me did not delight as the suggestion of the sorbet and vanilla soft serve swirl did not quite taste right (to me). The Cake slice was Raspberry and Pistachio, and not sure if this piece was old but it was very very dry and crumbly when I was expecting something more moist and spongy.
Soft serve flavor of the month: lychee raspberry and Tahitian vanilla. It was such a great combination. And the lychee flavor really comes through well!
I love their soft serve ice cream, it's perfect in the summer. I tried the blueberry panna cotta soft serve and it was delicious! Sweet and tart at the same time. They have a different flavour every month so i definitely have to go back next month to try. The only thing was because it's soft serve it tends to melt very fast! Service was super fast, we even went on a weekend. The interior is very bright and clean with a butter baker store next to the cafe selling cute little trinkets and things!
This is one of my favourite brunch spots in the city! Their chicken & waffles is my go to order & we love that we can end our meal off with a sweet treat. The monthly soft serve is a must order but their seasonal waffles with vanilla gelato is great. For fall, we tried the caramel apple butter waffle which was divine. This brunch cafe with dine in seating is tucked away in the back of their storefront. The service is always great!
There wasn't a line when I went so it was quite quick to get in and out. The staff were friendly, and the display cases were clean. I was incredibly disappointed by how small the portion was, and I guess it really does depend on who's serving it, I bought one last month and it was quite a bit bigger. This month's flavour was mango pineapple, very much over hyped and I cannot express the level of disappointment with this soft serve. It was quite sweet, and very soft, melted right away. I've had cakes from this place before, and they've been very good.
Really great soft serve, changes flavours each month. This was our first time and we got the Mango Lassi flavour. Really great as it had less sugar and low lactose as well. Recommend people to try
I went here 2 years ago to try their breakfast! It was fairly new at the time, I got a salmon croissant sandwich I don't think it's available anymore. Taste wise, it was just okay the cream cheese was too overpowering with the sandwich. You get seated in the very back of a room. The ambiance is a bit awkward, since the dining area Is not that big and it just felt like it was would be hard to get servers attention since you're hidden in the room. I like the concept of seeing the whole cafe while eating. They're very well known for their pastries, cakes, and soft serve ice cream. We got a passion fruit, it was just okay as well, it was too sour. I highly recommend their matcha cake though one of the best. They also reposted my photo and credited someone else, I asked them to fix it but they never responded.
Amazing soft serve- mango. Dairy free for all the lactose intolerant besties. Tastes just like real mangos, so tasty and not too sweet.
A cute cafe. Although, seating is a bit cramped and the curtains kind of kill the vibe. Desserts are pretty good though. Matchamisu Cake: A light and fluffy matcha-based tiramisu. Well-balanced flavors and not overly sweet. Soft Serve: A good soft serve. The earl grey flavor tasted a bit low quality, but overall still enjoyable.
Found this place randomly while searching "desserts near me". What drew me in was the picture of the soft serve, which maybe it's an US thing but I thought it was soft serve ice cream. To my surprise, and kind of disappointment, it was sorbet. The flavor of the week, or month, was pina colada. It was beautifully served with a near perfect swirl and it tasted okay; nothing special. If I were to come back I would definitely try the cookies and cake.
I am in love with the cakes here! So delicate. Not overly sweet. Perfect for my palette. I noticed a lot of people coming to try the soft serve. So might give it a try when it is warmer out.
The best brunch ever! the Cafe part was connected to a cute little shop. everything was delicious from the matcha latte to the brunch food to the pina colada soft serve. Service was great, very friendly and quick! they answered all of our questions and you can order straight from your phone via the online menu. The food came out freshly made and piping hot. I love my potatoes crispy and these were perfectly crisp. bacon was also delicious and crispy. the waffles were soft and airy. matcha latte was large and yummy and just the right amount of sweetness. and the pina colada ice cream was amazing! the portion sizes were huge and you get your money's worth. highly recommend!
Butter Baker Came for a cozy afternoon brunch with the girls and, of course, we over-ordered- everything looked too good to resist. Everyone's been to this place, butttt the strawberry matcha? Absolutely superb. And honestly, every time I come here, the brunch just slaps. So yeah, I'm sorry for posting this basic content... but consider this your official reminder to try Butter Baker if you haven't yet. And if you have? Well, this is your sign to go again And I'm still on the hunt for the best matcha latte so hmu in the dms if you know any good spots We got the: Báhn mì croissant Salmon eggs benny Chocolate strawberry waffles Strawberry matcha latte

Love the fact that they've made soft serve a little healthier by using fresh blueberries for their puree. read more
Their guava purée and Tahiti vanilla twist soft serve is the best!! The flavours of the guava and vanilla really came out, and I was really impressed by the fruity and smoothness of the dessert as a whole. The handmade waffle cone was also delicious. Would highly recommend. Apparently it's only around for the month of November! read more

I had a birthday cake ordered from here and it was amazing! It's a bit more expensive than other bakeries, but the quality is stand out and worth it for special occasions. Cakes are made fresh to order and need to be ordered two days in advance. Seasonal varieties are available as well. We had the 8-inch chocolate passion fruit cake. It was not too sweet and had a very fragrant fruit flavor that complimented the milk chocolate well. The cake was moist, and the cream was silky smooth, decadent and rich. We should have opted for the bigger one. Butter Baker, my sweet tooth thanks you! read more

A take out pastry/cake shoppe. Everything looks pretty and appetizing and artistic... (a whole half pear glazed into a pastry?? wow). I usually don't like matcha cake but they really nailed it with their matchimisu cake. Higher end pricepoint - well worth it. Will come back to try other flavours. read more

They baked me an incredible birthday cake which was gluten-free but I requested them not to make a vegan. And they followed my instructions very well. They made me the most beautiful birthday cake I've had in my entire life. The bottom three layers of the cake or chocolate with chocolate buttercream and the top three layers were vanilla with vanilla buttercream and on the outside it was a pink to white ombré colour. My guests to my birthday party were so impressed by my birthday cake. This bakery was incredible in their service. I would definitely recommend them I was blown away by their work. Thank you Patricia for the extra attention to detail for decorating my birthday cake and everybody else who put in all the work to creating my beautiful two-tiered gluten-free birthday cake!!!!!! The cake was not only beautiful but so delicious and there was so much left even though everybody ate a lot of slices I'm still eating it today!!!! read more

A cute patisserie! I tried their strawberry cake and blueberry lemon cake. The slices are pretty big, since there's multiple layers of cake and cream. They're quite sweet though, since after the first few bites, it became overwhelmingly sweet. The two tasted a bit similar in my opinion though. They also have a bunch of croissants and danishes with different toppings on them, as well as cookies. read more

I ordered a slice of the Blueberry Lemon Dream Cake. Was extremely disappointed when I got home to eat it as the cake was very dry and stale. Definitely past the best before date. The flavour was okay, but probably will not be going back as I prefer my cakes fresh! read more

What a cute place with great service. Had to deduct 2 stars for quality of food (taste just okay, too sweet and it's overpriced) and lack of seating. I loved the ambience of the place, wished it was bigger because it would be a great place to socialize. The interior design is much better than most trendy cafes! read more

Ordered the pumpkin spice and caramel croissant. Flakey and crispy buttery layers and pumpkin spice flavour. As if that wasn't enough, it's covered in caramel drizzle! Small selection of pastries and cakes with drinks menu on the wall too! The layout of the baked goods looks inviting. The service was welcoming, friendly and quick. Very convenient location close to Bay and Dundas. Definitely an indulgence! read more
Butter Baker has some seating at the front right when you walk into the bakery. They have a wide selection of baked goods, coffee and tea. I came here to try the straberry purree and vanilla ice cream. The straberry flavour is nice and tart and not too sweet. The vanilla ice cream is light as well and together, it's a nice treat on a summer day. The baked goods is a bit on the pricey side as I saw some priced at $5 each. I'll come again and try their baked goods and see if it's worth the price. read more

They have really unique pastries such as a pear croissant and a matcha green tea white chocolate cookie. My favorite thing was the strawberries and cream croissant. Would come back to try their other pastries. read more
Definitely a once in a blue moon type of treat considering the price. But wow, as someone who doesn't have much of a sweet-tooth, I found these Asian-French fusion pastries here both delicious and aesthetically impressive. The lemon meringue croissant and porchetta banh mi were my favourites. The meringue pastry had a nice tartness and, while I found a touch too sweet for me, had a pleasingly satisfying flaky-enveloping-creamy-curd bite. The banh mi wasn't a banh mi other than for its filling (do chua, couldn't clearly taste the pate/mayo if there was any) and the porchetta didn't have any crackling but the combination of the carrots, the pork and again the superb flakiness of the croissant was greatly enjoyed. The matcha strawberry danish/strudel was also quite good and a favourite amongst my friends, but to me, paled next to the lemon meringue. Worthy a try--recommended. read more

Stopped by here on my walk home from work one day. Ice cream for dinner makes a bad day better :) 2 days later brought my coworker here because the blueberry soft-serve was so good, and because I couldn't stop raving about it at work! Look forward to the new flavour every month! read more

Very clean and organized bakery. Got a slice of smores cake, which is extremely sweet (and I have a sweet tooth) but tasty. Nice to have a bakery in the area, as I usually walk to Nadege. Even though we only got a slice, the packaging was very nice. It was put in a box and then into a paper bag. Would come back to try the pastries. read more

The place is smaller than expected. I honestly thought there was a dine-in section when I saw the article about them online, but it was actually a narrow shop. All their baked goods looked delicious but we only tried their cakes - s'mores, chocolat, and matcha. Out of the three, matcha was the one that stood out because it was soft and flavourful. The chocolat was a really good standard chocolate cake. S'mores tasted mainly like marshmallow; the flavour profile was just really light. We received excellent service as the staffs were friendly. They made recommendations for first time customers. FYI: the cakes do sell out really fast. If you already know what you want, you should reserve it. I will be back to try the croissants! read more

Super cute bakery with delicious baked goods. I had the strawberry vanilla croissant and it was delicious but really messy. Make sure you grab some napkins and try to eat at a table if you can. read more
Such a cute lookin' shop from the outside so we decided to drop by! I decided to try the Triple Chocolate Croissant $3.75 - it is made with dark chocolate so it wasn't overly sweet and overpowering (awesome!). I would give it a 7.5/10 as it is quite expensive and I could tell it wasn't fresh off the press with that warm & crispy croissant crunch. I'd likely come by again sometime to see what else they have to offer! read more

Love the presentation and the architecture of these puff style pastry danishes. I was interested in the raspberry jam which lingers for a few days longer than a visit to this establishment which is take out not dine in. Of special interest was the cookies and banana caramel was sold out. Delightfully I enjoyed the matcha white chocolate cookies because the white chocolate is balanced by the sensibility of green tea. What makes the gluten free plus free run egg delightful is the clean taste. Interesting is the meringue croissant and the continuously changing repertoire of pastry line up. Only point to watch for is moistness of flaky pastry where the traditional unglazed edged pastry is correct it is balanced by the englazed fruit. Not necessary to have dusting sugar unless there is a chance of losing moistness. read more
