We've used them for years butchering more than 8 hogs and cows as well as numerous big game. And within the last couple years they have gotten worse. We've stayed customer due to our history using this shop. But today was the final straw. We had hogs butchered in July, when we picked them up some of the product was missing from what we had wanted. We informed them that there was a lack of product. They said they were sorry that someone else must have put our product into someone else's order and they would get it to me next week or so. I said sounds good I'll keep in touch. So from August till November I called every week to get our meat back. They gave me the run around telling me they haven't had any hogs in or that the customers canceled orders so they haven't had anything come thru. I even went down there once because they said they had it. Once I got there they didn't have anything for me and the whole group of employees seemed to not even know what I was talking about. They gave me dog bones for the misunderstanding and said give us another week. Well today is the day. I called like I usually do and asked for the product where the gentleman told me to call back at the end of the week or next week and check back. It's been 4 month and nothing has been compensated. I'm very disappointed in their lack of communication... I've talked to multiple employees and no one had a clue about my order being mishandled. Ive been very patient and understand mistakes happen.. but making promises and not keeping them is really frustrating. So del Monte you can keep at this point I am done giving your company business and my families business aswell. I hope those reading this and have done business with them in the past or plan on doing business with them to go someplace else and if you do keep doing business with them please make sure all of your products are there. read more

I wish I had looked at these reviews before visiting. I would have gone elsewhere. I called two different butchers looking for a particular cut. The man I spoke to said that they did have what I was looking for. I had never been in before so I was a little shocked at how dark and dirty this place felt. I can't really judge based on the smell because it is a butcher shop, I've been to a couple and they tend to smell like raw meat. The woman that I ended up purchasing the meat from had what I wanted packaged before I got there because of the phone call. It was much smaller than I had asked for but didn't have extra time to wait so I took the meat. It was more expensive than what they had quoted me over the phone. $7 per pound vs. $11.50 was a little bit of a shock. I cooked the meat the same night and was severely disappointed. The meat was tough and was obviously the wrong cut. I called specifically to ask for a particular cut that I can't get at the grocery store, apparently you can't get it here either. Weirdest experience ever. The woman behind the counter is the owner and is beyond rude. I have no idea of quality of anything since we didn't spend a dime there...dark, dirty little place with rudeness and sarcasm in abundance. Want someone to verbally vomit on you and run you out of their store...this is the place for you. read more

I reviewed this place before with 5 stars, I loved the people for the most part and always was treated kindly, but now if I could give 0 I would! I went in a few days ago and the woman behind the counter( the owner ) was unbelievable, just complete trash of a person! So rude and condescending! Every question I had was meant with a sarcastic " holier-than-thou " attitude like lady if you don't know how to do your job work somewhere else and let people with customer service skills handle it. In my opinion she had no business talking to the customers or running a business. What a joke! (I was curious about the alcohol got treated like an alcoholic junky) Talk about running a business into the ground. Well to start this business has always been good but the owners (wife, I know she's also an owner because she made sure I knew.) Is...... Somethin. after a friend of mine had told me she was in a scream battle with someone in the back of the building, and that she stomped her way up to the front, then proceeded to yell, demean and belittle one of her employees in front of him( a customer) so I was a little hesitant to go in there when I did. To make it worse You can clearly tell she has no sense of boundaries or communication skills, Everytime I tried to speak to another employee she stated she was the owner, made me feel as if I was only allowed talk to her. Seemed unprofessional because she had an attitude about her. You could just see she was upset with something, So after what I would think would embarrass someone, she wanted to play the 100 question game asked me too many questions, she must have finally got the hint after question 50, because I was giving short responses. The entire time I was there I just felt very uncomfortable. I've done business here for years I usually don't go to the store itself, I know the owner(s) and ex owners decently well, so I will continue to do business here but I'll continue sending someone else to pick up for me. First time there, absolutely fantastic experience. Product-10, Service-10, Recomendation-10. Purchased two cuts of custom cut beef steak that proved to be the best beef I've eaten in years. Their cheese and meat display looked as if someone had just tossed the items in. Not organized at all. I mentioned that it was difficult to see what they had because they were piled on top of each other the employee on duty blamed another employee and said I was welcome to take it up with her. I asked if the Fred Meyer cheese bar had cut into their business and they indicated that I was free to go to Fred Meyer if I was unpleased with their selection. This store is rude pedantic and short with their customers I wouldn't spend a dime here. read more

I like the selection from Del Monte meats your selection and the atmosphere there is nice and the customer service is great as well I bought some beef short ribs and baby back ribs there and I had questions and the Staff was able to answer my questions I will definitely be going back to Del Monte meats I don't understand why the butcher block is still open read more

We made a special trip to the Butcher Block to purchase the promised fresh halibut. When we arrived, we were only given 2 pounds of fresh and supplemented with 2 pounds of frozen, for a total of $70, with a $23 discount since our order had to be supplemented with frozen, not fresh, fish. Apparently all of the fresh had been either reserved or bought by the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. We placed it in the refrigerator upon arriving home, but on Wednesday we noticed an extremely bad smell in the refrigerator. We unwrapped all of the fish. The package of the fresh fish smelled fine. The two frozen filets smelled disgusting and looked partially degraded. I estimate they had been frozen for months, perhaps thawed and unthawed, and essentially had begun to rot. As I write, we are burning candles, trying to air out the home. We are also planning our strategy to supplement our Thanksgiving pescatarian meal through whatever seafood Fred Meyer has on offer tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day. With another family joining us for Thanksgiving meal, we are anxious to ensure that we can salvage the protein portion of Thanksgiving. I'm shocked that such a store that sells rotten fish can survive in this town. DO NOT buy into a deal that smells fishy - it will be! read more

I asked the UNMASKED woman behind the counter for veal and duck. The only thing they had was skinless duck breast (no veal or whole duck). When I asked why they had removed the skin on the duck breast, she replied that "if you didn't like it, you can go and kill your own" !!??!! This is no way to treat customers if you ever hope to see them again; not respectful in action or word. Don't waste your time with this higher priced option.
