The space is big and clean, which meant it didn't feel too loud, even though there were lots of people. The service is friendly and quick and the sweet flour chips with whipped cream at the end made for a pleasant treat. It's worth noting that the burritos and enchiladas are a bit different than other places I've been; nothing but the meat I chose was inside the flour tortilla and the other stuff, including rice and beans, was on the plate outside. We came in to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday. At first, everything was great. We ordered food and drinks, got our chips and salsa, and were having a really good time. There ended up being a mix-up with one of the margaritas. My friend ordered a regular margarita but had meant to order the one that comes with two Coronaritas. Since they were served in the same size glass, it wasn't obvious at first. I told the staff to just put the mistakenly ordered regular margarita on my tab and bring my friend the correct one with the two Coronaritas. When I went to pay, I was shocked to see I had been charged $39.99 for each of those drinks. That price wasn't clearly advertised on the menu. I went back in to confirm because I've genuinely never paid that much for a single drink. If a family-style Mexican restaurant is going to have a $39.99 margarita, that needs to be clearly stated upfront. I left feeling blindsided and honestly a bit conned. The food, the service and the ambience were spectacular! We sat in a bar Lester was our bartender. He was the best ! we had Cadillac margaritas ,better than any Margarita I've ever had. We tried thejalapeño poppers that were homemade . They were mild jalapeños with crispy bacon on the outside. I should've taken pictures. They were excellent. This used to be a 5 star for me, but since the days of Covid, it just hasn't been the same. I understand staffing changes and shortage's, but the service has gone downhill. The quality of the food is still solid. The prices are still in line with the average cost of everything else having increased around us. Although I do enjoy the food here immensely, the lack of attention to service usually has me going other places first. "It didn't completely suck," would be the best thing I could say about the dinners my son and I brought home a few days ago. The service was standard--we called, they told us it would be 10-15 minutes, we showed up 15 minutes later and left 20 minutes after the initial call. The prices were fair. To be honest, I've paid more for worse. The little cup of salsa that each of us received was the best part of my meal. The shredded beef chimichanga could have been any generic Mexican item from an old TV dinner. If I hadn't been EXPECTING beef, I wouldn't have KNOWN it was beef--this was how bland it was. Bland is not what I expect when I eat Mexican food. The guacamole was tasty--the refried beans and rice another appearance of that TV dinner. Such high hopes. read more

Came here based on highest rating in this category for Pocatello. Initial feel is a "chain" and Americanized. Salsa, with a bean dip, was very good so off to a positive start. Service was fast, but server never smiled once. Noisy environment but tolerable. Went with #13 lunch special - the Fajita Burrito. Veggies were cooked in way too much oil making the burrito quite greasy-like with more veggies than "steak." Without the added salsa this would have been a fair selection and I felt the positive beginning went downhill. To be frank, too Americanized for my taste and over-rated. read more

I got carne asada, pork and fish. So freaking good. All of the food was amazing. The molcajete is more line a fajita stew and has great flavor! Huge portion. Could share it with 4 people. What a pleasant surprise. I found myself in Pocatello for a weekend and didn't really have much hope for good ethnic food, but decided to give this place a try on the basis of a few good reviews from Californians (yes, I realize California isn't Mexico, but how many Yelpers from Mexico are reviewing places in Pocatello?) Anyhoo ... immediate good vibes as I sat down and noted the number of families around me speaking Spanish -- that's the way I tend to judge Asian restaurants so why not Mexican? They brought out a big basket of tortilla chips with refried beans and salsa almost immediately, and the salsa had enough spice to wake up my taste buds, but not so much as to blow them out (so yeah, if you're one to eat habaneros whole you'll think it is bland, or too hot if you've had a lifetime of beige food). They also had Negra Modelo on draft, which my server Ana brought out promptly. I'm the sort of person that has a hard time committing to just one thing, so I tried the 3 chiles plate -- red chile with beef, a chile relleno, and green chile with pork. An enormous amount of food came out -- the three chiles as mentioned, rice, beans, and tortillas (I got corn, though can choose flour if that's your thing). I was pleased to see that the relleno was in the traditional airy yet crispy egg batter, not the breading you so often see in flyover country. It was also a poblano, so larger than I was expecting. Of the other 2 chiles, the red was the better ... the pork in the green chile was dry, so I'm thinking it was either too lean or was over-cooked before being put in the chile to stew. Rice and beans were passable. Ana was a great server -- attentive enough, but never hurrying me. If I ever find myself back in Pocatello, I would happily come back for another chile relleno. read more

The food was good. Service slow. Like just about all eatery now a days it's hard to find employees. All are under staffed. Not because the fault of the restaurant but because Biden's policies have made it impossible for places to hire enough help.
