Wow! This place is cool but since I was travelling through on NYE day, I really don't know what the mandate is with ND regarding the 'rona. I mean, there are signs up to wear your masks, staff are wearing their gear but it doesn't really seem if all the customers care or not if a mask is needed or if there is a limit on how many people can be in an establishment. One lady, smelling of stale smokes, out of shape and slightly hacking, was ordering maskless for her NYE whatever. I was standing in line to get out but thought, WTF? Anyway, the frozen selection of soups and brats were nice. Behind the counter, an amazing array of various cuts of meat that looked really good. I ended up with some steaks, Philly Cheese Steak brats and bacon to fill my cooler. Stuff was looking so good I was even feeling my German heritage and was considering getting their lean hamburger for some tartar it looked that tasty & fresh. They also have a very nice selection of seasonings and sauces which I grabbed. About to order some more, a lady walked up to order a fresh made sandwich (again maskless which is what got me in line instead of spending more $). I thought, wow. That is a nice alternative. But, I think this covid stuff needs to be in the rear view mirror before I stop in again which is a shame. read more

Love this store. They have many cuts & selections. But this time I only get the brats & walleyes because it is still COVID19 & there's about 8 customers in there not wearing any mask or glove & they're too close to me. I got scare & ran to the frozen freezers got my walleyes & a package of brats & ran out of there as soon as I can. Lol. I will be back when less crowded & will get their fresh items. I roasted & boiled the brats I got & omg they're well seasoned & delicious. I love them. My bro fried the walleyes with lemon grass & garlic & they're so delicious. Everyone in here are so nice. Just popped in to see what they had for lunch and asked what they had, the guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Which is hard to come by nowadays. I got the Fat boy sandwich and the twice baked potato soup, both were DELICIOUS! Can't wait to go again and try whatever else they have :) Also got some pig ears for my pups which were huge! I love this butcher shop! I don't understand why anyone would buy meat from a grocery store when you can come here and get a awesome cut of meat for less. They have just about every cut of meat you can think of and then some. I buy most of my red meat and pork from here. They have a little area for dry groceries and some frozen foods as well. The staff is always friendly and very efficient. I have never had any issues here. One item I always have to pick up when I come here is the beef sticks,always a good choice or the beef jerky. The smell in the store is this amazing, it's from the smoker. I have not had anything from the deli side but will have to try it out. They have a great selection of deli meats and cheese. You can order sandwiches or deli platters. read more

If your lucky and beat the sell out they have hot sammiches like brisket or hot ham n cheese. This is the basis for which all meat counters should be run. I live 150 miles away and stopping here is definitely on my agenda every time I get to Mandan. First of all, they have an amazing selection of everything. There's frozen fish, spices, meats and snacks. It's a one stop shop for great food. The bacon is delicious, the tied pork loin was tender like it should be and I've never gone wrong with the steaks there. And they have hard to find things. Headcheese and side pork are two treats. It's darn near impossible to find side pork in a retail shop. The prices aren't out of line at all. They're competitive to most box stores. And the quality is worth any extra. When you get something here, it's safe to say that it's fresh like it should be. Customer service is second to none as well. I got pork sausage ( try it, you'll love it )and asked the young man behind the counter for two pounds. He reached in and grabbed a handful and put it on the scale. Hit it at 2 lbs exactly. I said that he was pretty to get it on the nose. He smiled and said that he was picky for getting the right amount. If the help is picky about that, they'll be picky about everything else. Such as handling your meat safely and properly. You can go to a supermarket or box store. And you may save a couple bucks. Or you can go here and pick out the best meats that Bismarck-Mandan has to offer. It's worth it. read more

I had to park about a block away and when I got about 100 ft from the door and I knew this was going to be good. The smoky smell of sausage was warfting out of the door every time the door opened. Upon entering the small store was filled with people standing patiently talking with each other while waiting to be checked out. Along the walls were freezers stocked full of frozen sausages and other things such as cheese buttons various pierogi and other frozen products. The center aisles were a large selection of rubs sauces and spices to make sausage. Then you come to the fresh meat counter full of fresh steaks, sausages, roasts. I will be visiting here often. read more

Great selection, and the lunch sandwiches are a bargain - tons of meat for $3.50! The homemade soups are delicious too.

If Yelp had a zero out of five star rating that's what I would give this place the service is absolutely horrible and it smells like a sewer the second you walk in the door, and everything looks so dirty such as all the shelves the seasonings and canned items are on it's just disgusting I'm surprised the building is condemned yet. They should really learn to actually respect a customer instead of just seeing money walking through the door and just mabey this would be a one out of five star business. read more

THERE IS A GAL WORKING THERE TODAY, 3/12, who needs training. Dont Know her name, but she had a green NDSU bison shirt on. She needs to Learn how to weigh meat. I asked her for half pound each, of a few different cold cuts, and she gave me almost a pound of each. I asked her why, And she Said that it's "hard to estimate". Nobody is expecting 8 ozs. on the nose, but still when i ask for half pound, and i get .93 lbs., something is wrong. In supermarkets, they usually slice little by little, and put the meat on the scale as they go. She cut about 1lb of meat, then expects me to buy more than i have to. I Told her that u could put some back, but she didn't. Look, if i got .60 lb, or even .75, I'd let it go. But EVERY TIME, she is giving me almost 1 lb when i asked for half, and then claims that its hard to estimate is ridiculous. Either retrain these people properly, or I'll go somewhere where they do. Or are they just trained to up-sell that way? Not very good, man. read more
