I was very excited to have Chris from Shore assembly put my Vidga Ikea track system together…read moreadmittedly he said he never had any experience with them but he said should be easy to figure out I was slightly nervous but I sent him a video to familiarize himself before my apt which was for today at 4 I asked if 415 would work better as i wanted my husband home while meeting a stranger off the internet for the first time in the house and he said he was running an hour behind so that it would work better for him he finally arrived my husband greeted him and showed him the system he said he didn't have his Hack saw when clearly in the video i sent stated you would need one I had a very bad feeling and asked my husband to tell him not to bother if he didnt even have the proper tool to assemble i felt leary letting him figure out how to put the tracks up especially when he said he goes by an hourly rate and in the video it clearly states u will need a hacksaw to cut the tracks i told him sorry and i didn't understand how he didn't have tools when this is what he does for a living??? he replied he couldn't find it which again was a red flag and made me feel like he was a bit unprofessional after telling him we would feel comfortable with someone more competent with this system he sent an invoice for a cancellation fee and than proceeded to threaten me if it goes unpaid it will be sent to collections and would not take any of my 4 phone calls to attempt to speck to him soon after . Not kind and totally not ok to do business like that ! Beware Im very disappointed my drapes are still not up but relieved i listened to my gut god forbid he put holes in my ceiling the last thing I would need is dealing with a person with such little character and standard threatening to put me in collection if a invoice goes unpaid for work he never did he calls it his cancellation fee i have only had txt with response with this person at no point was i sent a contract or anything explaining a cancel fee however us not feel good about an unprepared handy person without the right tools he should of apologized to us instead of sending invoice not a great impression with being over an hour behind and than coming unprepared not cool ! Warning Do not use this company Brother Fix, If you think your job will be done less than 3 hours…read more you should consider other handyman companies. They charge you minimum 3 hour service call including 4% service fees, which is around $540!! No one explain or warn you this before signing the contract. They just said the work would take approx. 3 hours so I have to sign the contract to reserve my spot. In my experience, two men came and done the work within 40mins (did not care about all the boxes and trashes) and left. And the handy man never asked me whether I wanted them to wear a mask during the shift or not. Also Smell badly of cigarettes. I called the company and they said they are not able to get me a refund for other 2 hours. They explained 3 hour minimum service call = team labor + all the traveling charges from Brooklyn to JerseyCity, Even they left earlier than 3 hours. They told me that they were going to brought up this issue and call me back, but no one call me back ! If I could I would like to give them 0 star.
