Oh my gosh this was good! If I could give it 6 stars I would. I recently moved to Texas and I had never heard of Bush's Chicken. However, after today I will be going there regularly. The sweet tea is delicious as advertised! Very sweet, but not too sweet, good southern stuff. The chicken is flakey, tender, and flavorful! I am not a big fan of crinkle fries but these are crispy and salty. Saving the best for last, this country gravy is AMAZING. Plus, the meal is the perfect size for leftovers. I will be going back. Well I know now why this place gets bad reviews - service and food was lacking. The A/C was broke so it was really hot. We ordered a 10 piece meal with coleslaw and mashed potatoes as our sides. We waited over 15 min for them to cook the chicken. They were not busy at all, there were a few drive through orders but mostly the staff was just standing around. When we got home we had coleslaw and big and small containers of gravy - no mashed potatoes. My husband called to complain and they said if he want to drive back they would give him mash potatoes. Well no, we were not driving back to get mashed potatoes. The whole point in getting take out is so when you get home you can eat and not have to go back out. Bush's I'm so sorry I took you for granted till I went to another location very close by and their food is always cold and nasty. I have to send it back every time. You always come through and are very consistent! My food is hot and edible unlike another location I know about. My corn nuggets are always bomb! The food did take a little bit of time to come out, but it was worth it because the the food was fresh and well presented. The prices are moderate and fair for the quality of the chicken. Over the Christmas Break, we had our kiddos that live in San Diego down for a visit. They all love eating Bush's Chicken, so we stopped at Bush's Chicken on West Adams in Temple. We ordered our food and the server brought us our food (not sure if that is normal- we usually order through the takeout line)! When we finished our dinner and free drinks (we forgot to order them, so they comped 6 drinks!) we asked our server if we could buy a hoodie! My stepdaughter Emme, loves Bush's Chicken and wanted a hoodie. She even tried getting one from another location. Our server looked in the back and could not find one her size. He wrote down his name, email, and phone number and told me he could order one her one from corporate. I noticed his name was Corey Bush. I asked him if that was a coincidence and humbly said that his story was on the wall. He was CEO!! I can not say enough about how impressed I was by his demeanor, his heart for service, and his leadership. It was a busy night and he was working right alongside his employees taking orders and serving customers. I did email Corey Bush, and asked for a hoodie and offered Credit Card information to pay for it. I just received an email back from him and he has already sent her a new hoodie, FREE of charge and offered to send whatever else she might want! Tonight i waited in the line for 45 mins as my family wanted a hot meal and requested this after the long could week with the blizzard. I ordered the family picnic. ( this isnt first time ordering this and them screwing it up). When they came back with the food and receipt they double billed me. Billed for the family picnic and then all items in the picnic individually. When i brought it to their attention. The employee said " what you want me to do about it?!" I work nearby and this is a stand-by for most of the office. I was never a Bush's Chicken person before I worked there. But honestly, I have never visited this location without having stellar service and piping hot food. My biggest complaint with take-away is that "they always give less and its cold..." but - I regularly visit this place and can't complain about either.
