Most of this review is just for this location and in no way reflects how other Bush's Chicken locations operate. OK, now that I got that out of the way, the chicken at Bush's Chicken is pretty much flavorless compared to other more popular fried chicken chains. On our first visit to a Bush's Chicken, which happened to be this location, I ordered a 4 piece tender meal, which came with gravy, a side a large drink. My wife ordered the 2 piece mix individual meal, which came with a roll, side and large drink. First, the fried chicken was very light colored, which I guess is how it is at any Bush's Chicken. Second, the skin and meat were almost flavorless, compared to more popular restaurants like KFC, Popeyes, Raising Canes. In addition, the white gravy that came with the tender meal wasn't good either and I barely used any of it after the first few bites. For my side, I got the mac & cheese and that was just OK. It was a very runny mac & cheese, but it also needed more flavor as well. My wife got the corn nuggets for her side and that was probably the best part of our meal. As for the location, it was very quiet when we came in and there were only a handful of customers at the most. All of the employees were also teenagers, but they didn't give us any issues and did their jobs. The restaurant seemed clean enough and I didn't notice any issues either. Pull up at 8, and they closed at 9 and won't service us. Just a bunch of lazy kids working wanting to close an hour early.

So I can see how some people don't like this location bc of the younger kids working there but we didn't have any problem when we stopped by. Now the food.... The chicken could use a little more seasoning but if your smart you have extra of those chicken express seasoning kits and Goto town! Or you just salt and pepper ur dipping sauce and call it good. Bothe times we have been there we have gotten decently crispy chicken so it hasn't sat too long which is what makes it the best. Their gravy is out of this world! Reminds me the old high school stick to your bones gravy... not the runny stuff. The wife said the fried okra was pretty decent and their corn nuggets are pretty decent as well. They always top it off with a honey butter roll and omg.... don't forget to grab some butter for that thing! Dammmmmmmmn good! 4 strips is easily shared between two adults unless you are hungry then 4 will fill you up for sure! read more

Service is speedy, friendly, and accurate every single time. The menu is also really good. A wide variety of options at a good price. And the food itself is delicious. I think a big family could eat great here for a very inexpensive price. I highly recommend this chicken place. read more

Stopped by on the way from Houston to Dallas. We ordered a mixed chicken order and a tender order. I got a sweet tea as my drink, it was absolutely amazing, one of the best teas I ever had. The cashier was very polite and they brought us our food and refills with no issues. We had fries and corn fritters as the sides. The fries were really good and I liked the corn fritters. The chicken was pretty good, my first time trying it but I'd definitely get it again. The tenders were really good to. I also liked that the restroom was so clean since we were traveling. read more

Shout out to Selina at Bush's. On a trip to Houston this week, I stupidly walked out and left my purse there. It was over an hour before I noticed it. When I called, Selina answered. Luckily she was the one who had found it. She told me she had it secure in the manager's office. Sure enough when I came back through on Sunday, it was there with over $200 and lots of credit cards intact. I tried to give her a reward and she refused. Very disappointing. Chicken was cooked properly with nice batter but it needed seasoning. Mashed potatoes- instant and no seasoning Gravy - instant and no seasoning Baked Beans - open can, heat, serve - no seasoning Staff was friendly but very, very slow - even with nobody in line. Dining room was FILLED with flies - dozens and dozens, buzzing around windows. Dining room was picked up and free of trash but still really felt dirty with lots of dust and crumbs on things. Place is awful customer service awful. It's just a bunch of kids up there, they were throwing paper everywhere, manager was just letting them do crazy things. They were yelling and playing around not paying attention to their job. when we walked in the guy looked like he hated his job maybe one word came out and it was "hi". Love me some fried chicken, and Bush's Chicken is great, BUT I have just given them the last chance they are going to get for my business. FIVE out of the last FIVE visits, at least part of my order is wrong! Today I received livers instead of gizzars even though the order was repeated back to me and confirmed to be correct. I seldom receive a spoon, which makes it incredibly hard to eat mashed potatoes. Management indicates lots of turnover with staff....for 10 months now???? Time for a new training program. In the meantime, I will drive a bit further to Corsicana to Bills Fried Chicken. I am officially done! read more

This place was awful...from food to service! Chicken was old & cold, mashed potatoes...let's just say, there's not enough gravy that could cover it to make them better. Service.....no smile, they forgot one of our drinks so we went back to get it & they acted like we were dumb for doing that. We tipped the guy who helped us & the manager acted like we were supposed to give it to him! Very rude! I will not eat here again! read more

I was hesitant because of other reviews, but this was the delicious chicken, rolls, mashed potatoes, and gravy I used to eat in Waco. I prefer the pieces to the tenders, because I think they are juicier and have a little more flavor, but it's all good. Be careful when adding the Serendipity seasoning--sometimes it comes out too quickly, but it is so good. The manager took our order and was professional, and was so nice, she even gave our kids a little treat! Also, they serve Blue Bell ice cream and brownies. A lot of people love their tea, and they have good ice for their drinks, similar to Sonic. read more
