Beautifully made and exactly what I was looking for.

My daughter and son in law bought this for me. I love it so much. Thanks Burt's Birdhouses!

I stoped to take a look at the bird houses. I was greeted by Burt and his hospitality was over the top. Ended up sitting with him for 45min and sharing stories. He gave me water and just enjoyed his stories. His work erea is a dram come true to anyone that loves wood work. Including roosters and chickens making there self at home. Bought a house and Burt was so passionate on giving you instructions on everything to do. If I can do it... anyone can

In our recent drives between Leander and Conroe, we would always pass Burt's Birdhouses and always said we would stop. We finally did and found ourselves some awesome birdhouses. I will post the new birdhouses as we are enjoying them very much.

Friendly guys selling awesome handcrafted birdhouses.

This was my first time out in Round Top for their bi-annual event during their Winter event…read more(January time) to do some shopping with the BFF. Our visit at Blue Hills at Round Top was our 2nd stop after our time at the Big Red Barn browsing/buying just a mile away from this location. Right off the bat the biggest perk about Blue Hills is the FREE entry coupled with free parking lot (no valet, just park yourself) and space for a ton of people to be here at this venue all at once. The lot is mostly rocks and field and if it is rainy it might be muddy. Anyone who has mobility issues or wheelchair bound will have a difficult time navigating in the parking lot and in and out of the container/warehouse spots. Even the restroom is questionable on whether or not it will be accessible or comfortable. We noticed there was a map located in one of the back parking lot areas but it was hard to figure out what or where vendors were located. Nothing was really labeled besides restroom and bar/food areas. We noticed signs that said "European Art" and "Mid-Century Art" banners and sizes but not all vendors were that same type of art/antiques. It is best to check each vendor our despite what signs or areas you see labeled with those banners. The bar was friendly! I think a local hotel hosts the bar that has wine, beer, water, sodas, and cocktails to-go. Prices were very decent on cocktails and all used local liquors and beers. It is pricy here for all of the offerings by vendors. I found a combo vintage glassware and record seller in one of the spots. Record prices were slightly inflated for what they were selling but I did get a decent $10 Bob Dylan 1964 album in a sea of over 150 records. I noticed the folks that came here dressed to impress. I saw so many couples and folks just dressed to the nine in posh cowboy chic and lots of large hats can be seen here. I even noticed very fancy and high-end cars like Tesla, Range Rovers, Porche, etc. It is a whole vibe and type of dress if you come here especially during the biannual event in Round Top for antique shopping.

We weren't…read moreable to make it for the Big Red Barn dates (the fact that that venue charges a fee was a turn-off as well). On opening day, we decided to head to Blue Hills first, since it was the biggest venue. That was a good decision since we were able to snag a great parking spot. In just an hour, the place was full of cars trying to find parking. Luckily, we were in and out. SO GO EARLY. I repeat, GO EARLY. We were only in Round Top for one day so I'd have been really upset to spend most of it at this venue. Personally, I found Blue Hills disappointing. This is based strictly on what I prefer in terms of my antiquing experience. I like the more traditional antique store experience -- a variety of art, decor, trinkets, etc. all at different price points. I like finding weird dolls and clowns (that I won't necessarily buy) and finding little treasures that won't cost a fortune. I didn't see many vendors like that here (I had better luck at The Venue and Zapp Hall). I saw a lot of larger items -- furniture (some of it very expensive) and expensive European art and rugs, etc. Some yard decorations. The best vendor was probably the one selling antique maps. Ultimately, this venue didn't have what I was looking for. Overall, I'm glad we came early and were able to quickly see that Blue Hills wasn't for us. There are so many other venues to check out -- it's tough for first timers to know where to go.

The most popular venues are the Big Red Barn and Blue Hills but I heard those charge entry fees so we went to one of the free spots. Lots of cute finds and a variety of different antique booths. The shop owners were very friendly and even though antiquing doesn't usually seem toddler-mom-appropriate, everyone was very sweet to our son! We didn't end up buying anything but there were several cute items I wanted. Would love to check it out again. I give it 4 stars because the only restrooms were port-a-potties but they were very clean and well taken after.

If you're not familiar with the "famous" Round Top Antique Fair you may be under the impression like I was that a ticket is needed for the entire experience. But such is not the case. This is one of the first stops as you enter the teeny tiny town of Round Top and if you want to come into the barn and another building not far away you can buy a ticket either online or at the door. Cash or card accepted. Sadly, the ladies at the door are not the most welcoming or friendly. Despite my lack of welcome I was not going to let the sour pusses ruin my adventure. I had been waiting eight years to get here and I can't believe it took me this long! Oh, and don't forget to wear your best Aspen, Santa Fe style boho cowgirl outfit so you'll fit right in. Go down the street to the newly open Kimo Sabe to get your branded feathered hat. The Barn is only an hour and 40 minutes from The Woodlands the drive was not bad and there's a Bucee's on the way for a rest. I had no idea Round Top was this close! Perfect day tripping! Anyway, after walking in you'll see an array of booths displaying all kinds of antiques and jewelry and lots of furniture. The welcome from these establishments was underwhelming. Lots of grumpy buzzards. And most of the stuff could be found at Goodwill or local antique stores for much less. Warning! Only porta-potty bathrooms here! The sticker shock on the items was ...shocking too. I did buy a little trinket from the one and only sweet vendor with reasonable prices but I have to say, the best thing about the Barn? Was leaving! We drove down the road and found lots of friendly vendors and needed no ticket it was free!! We found more shopping and a great restaurant at the town square too. Bottom line...I'll be back to Round Top just not here and BtW I had a better time at Bucees!

My mother purchased a beautiful wooden kitchen island with a marble top and leather woven stools for her home. She came home one day to find the marble countertop side trim pieces shattered on the floor. This kitchen island is now dangerous with sharp edges exposing that the marble countertop is less than a 1/2 inch thick. The owner was unwilling to give her any accommodation or good will gesture to rectify this defective piece. I was told to sand the sharp edges to prevent injury to my mother's aged thin skin. I guess you get what you pay for as this was a reasonably priced solution for her kitchen and now it's dangerous and unsightly.
