Drove over an hour to Brenham from Smithville and arrived at 5:00 yesterday only to find the lights off and met at the door by a salesclerk who stated they were closing. I was clearly upset and told her that the website needed to be updated, because it clearly says the store is open until 5:30. The salesclerk argued with me and told me the website said 5:00. Well, Yelp and Facebook both have a 5:30 closing time. Not sure what website she is talking about. read more

About 3 years ago we were driving through and my wife saw the windmills and yard art. We bought the small (8') Lonestar Windmill and I brought it home to assemble. Still looks and operates like new. Thought it cost more than it should, but I see that the quality is definitely why, and worth it. Now would like to get the decorative water tank to go with it, but might have to wait since we don't get by that way very often. We live in Yreka, CA. read more

You can't miss this place on 290 because it looks like a place where yard art threw up a bunch of Texas kitsch. It is intriguing to see, so you stop in, and actually find some pretty cool stuff. They have an outdoor area as well as an inside showroom where you can barely walk because of all of the tables, furniture and tile art. The wooden furniture looks quality and they have so much Texas decor, it is well worth a stop. There are 3 other places we saw along 290 that looked to have similar stuff, but not nearly as much. They are willing to haggle a little, so we wound up getting a rustic wooden and bronze star, a distressed metal lawn sculpture and iron fence for around $250, so not a bad deal! read more

If you're in the mood to drive out to the middle of nowhere and get some interesting stuff for your home, this is the place. I know that a lot of places are selling some of the same things, but these guys have been doing it an awfully long time and are worth checking out. I stopped in on the way to Austin and was impressed with the selection. I bought a wooden window thing and an outdoor decor item for my mom. The guy noticed it was cracked and pointed it out to me, and even sold it to me at a discount without me ever having to ask. Very nice. There's some super expensive stuff there, but even if you don't want to fork over a bunch of cash, this place is worth it for the ideas alone or maybe one or two high impact items. Awesome place if you are a fan of talavera pottery stuff (my mom's a huge fan) and metal yard art. Good for some one-of-a-kind items too, like a keg table! Just bring a truck... read more

So unfortunately I've had to change my review because my experience last time was a 4 star but this particular time was below a one star and I am very disappointed in this place. I put down a deposit on an expensive item of which I had planned on paying out over the year, but due to grave and serious health concerns I was unable to work or even live in this town full time. My life for the past year is been nothing but doctor visits surgical visits and psychiatric visits. Also during this time I experienced a huge personal disconnect with someone who was my life and so I wasn't really in a position to have the ability to pay the rest off. Not to mention the item I was trying to buy was for the person that is no longer and my life. So I came there at least hoping to try and work out some type of reasonable deal where I could be partially refunded or something. I have ridiculous medication and medical bills and I am broke so I was really counting on meeting some human beings who are willing to look at this situation on an individual basis and at least attempt to speak with me and try and work out a solution where everyone could be happy. And the short story is that no I was told flat out it was impossible they couldn't refund a single cent and most likely I would not even get store credit I'm one my deposit had been on other items and I was pretty much out a lock and should just close the account. No attempt to contact a manager or the owner and absolutely no Room for discussion I was shut down and left head hung low pissed off beyond the moon. It is unfortunate because it is a beautiful store with very unique and affordable objects but if you wanna deal with compassionate human beings who aren't heartless robots I would suggest you take your money somewhere else. read more

I purchased a cedar rocking chair from this business yesterday. When I got it home last night I noticed the bottom of the leg was cracked. I contacted the owner and he agreed to switch it out with another rocking chair that was pine. The Pine rocking chair was $25.00 less than the cedar chair. He also agreed to put a gloss sealant on for an additional $40.00, making the chair a little nicer. When I drove back up today from Houston to drop off the cedar chair the owner acknowledged the crack and stated the chair was still structurally sound. He said he was just gonna put it back in the showroom and not fix it or replace the damaged wood. He then stated I owed him $15.00 to make up the difference for the sealant he applied to the pine chair. I stated I felt like we were even since I spent $15.00 in gas just to take the item back up there. He was adamant about the $15.00 so the lesson learned is this: *Watch what you buy up there, it could be damaged! *He doesn't want to fix damaged products he sells. *He doesn't care how inconvenienced the customer is, he's gonna get his. My family just bought a ranch up there and need to furnish the house, we will not be going there ever again! Watch out! read more
