This was my first time out in Round Top for their bi-annual event during their Winter event (January time) to do some shopping with the BFF. Our visit at Blue Hills at Round Top was our 2nd stop after our time at the Big Red Barn browsing/buying just a mile away from this location. Right off the bat the biggest perk about Blue Hills is the FREE entry coupled with free parking lot (no valet, just park yourself) and space for a ton of people to be here at this venue all at once. The lot is mostly rocks and field and if it is rainy it might be muddy. Anyone who has mobility issues or wheelchair bound will have a difficult time navigating in the parking lot and in and out of the container/warehouse spots. Even the restroom is questionable on whether or not it will be accessible or comfortable. We noticed there was a map located in one of the back parking lot areas but it was hard to figure out what or where vendors were located. Nothing was really labeled besides restroom and bar/food areas. We noticed signs that said "European Art" and "Mid-Century Art" banners and sizes but not all vendors were that same type of art/antiques. It is best to check each vendor our despite what signs or areas you see labeled with those banners. The bar was friendly! I think a local hotel hosts the bar that has wine, beer, water, sodas, and cocktails to-go. Prices were very decent on cocktails and all used local liquors and beers. It is pricy here for all of the offerings by vendors. I found a combo vintage glassware and record seller in one of the spots. Record prices were slightly inflated for what they were selling but I did get a decent $10 Bob Dylan 1964 album in a sea of over 150 records. I noticed the folks that came here dressed to impress. I saw so many couples and folks just dressed to the nine in posh cowboy chic and lots of large hats can be seen here. I even noticed very fancy and high-end cars like Tesla, Range Rovers, Porche, etc. It is a whole vibe and type of dress if you come here especially during the biannual event in Round Top for antique shopping. read more

As a first time visitor to the Round Top Antique Fair, I didn't know where to start. We weren't able to make it for the Big Red Barn dates (the fact that that venue charges a fee was a turn-off as well). On opening day, we decided to head to Blue Hills first, since it was the biggest venue. That was a good decision since we were able to snag a great parking spot. In just an hour, the place was full of cars trying to find parking. Luckily, we were in and out. SO GO EARLY. I repeat, GO EARLY. We were only in Round Top for one day so I'd have been really upset to spend most of it at this venue. Personally, I found Blue Hills disappointing. This is based strictly on what I prefer in terms of my antiquing experience. I like the more traditional antique store experience -- a variety of art, decor, trinkets, etc. all at different price points. I like finding weird dolls and clowns (that I won't necessarily buy) and finding little treasures that won't cost a fortune. I didn't see many vendors like that here (I had better luck at The Venue and Zapp Hall). I saw a lot of larger items -- furniture (some of it very expensive) and expensive European art and rugs, etc. Some yard decorations. The best vendor was probably the one selling antique maps. Ultimately, this venue didn't have what I was looking for. Overall, I'm glad we came early and were able to quickly see that Blue Hills wasn't for us. There are so many other venues to check out -- it's tough for first timers to know where to go. read more

Lots of great vendors. Clean and easily accessible bathrooms. Prices on the high side, except one vendor that I can't remember the name.

I came to Round Top to experience the bi annual antique fair. I have never seen so many antiques in one place before! I think the people walking on the side of the road through town were going faster than the cars trying to drive from one spot to the next. Blue Hills was one of the free parking locations, and everyone talked about the Methodist Men's BBQ. I love how the space was set up with lots of great iron sculptures and succulents throughout. There are also real bathrooms vs. portables. The antiques were pricier here than at other spots, and focused on larger furniture items. We didn't see anything that caught our eye. The BBQ was also mediocre. The best item was the frito pie. The other BBQ options were not that great. Basically just flavorless pieces of greasy meat. read more

Love coming to Round Top during the antique shows. Always can count on Blue Hills for a great selection of French items. I loved the old maps vendor they had last year. Also - Best restrooms, very clean. read more

Enjoyed the shopping experience at Blue Hill. They never seem to disappoint. They have everything from American Indian turquoise jewelry to every imaginable antique. We come back every year and start shopping here. read more

Unless you're looking for large pieces of antique furniture of home decorations, skip this headache all together. All of these giant tents and barns are filled with big furniture pieces and other home decorations goods to include carpets, dressers, armoires etc. Honestly, if you're looking for antiques, I'd give this place a miss because, as previously stated, it mostly contains larger pieces or furniture. There was one vendor that was there for the big show and he and his wife sold old pieces of arts (maps, wildlife, city views etc.) out of old books, atlases, etc. That was kind of neat. If you do go during the area's semi-annual Antiques event, go early because the entire route in is a parking lot from around 12-1PM and it'll take you 2-3 hours of sitting in traffic. read more

Have been coming to Blue Hills for years. It is one of the most consistent and nicer quality fields in Round Top. Great mix of casual country pieces and more elegant refined furniture, lighting and accessories. Always a must stop! read more

Blue Hills does not have ONLY large pieces of furniture..this field at the Round Top Antique Market has a lot of everything. Thousands of art pieces in one booth, artistic craftsman displaying unique one of a kind repurposed art and furniture, country antiques, modern mid century, beautiful lighting, folkart, several European dealers, BBQ, and a full service coffee express bar..the bathrooms alone are worth the trip..true story read more

This used to be one of my favorite venues. It seems over the last several years they have lost many of my favorite vendors to the newer places that have become more popular. They now are filling in with foreign merchandise and one booth that was merely Michaels/hobby lobby knock off quality. On a positive note they do have a great selection of Mexican low quality yard art if that is on your must have list. Note. There is no handicap parking (when we asked the officer laughed and the bathrooms are not accessible unless you have someone to assist you as they are not in compliance). Have fun! read more

I live in Round Top and have had the opportunity to shop all of the venues during the antique fairs and my favorite by far is Blue Hills. It has great antiques, a great looking venue with plenty of free parking and food that is delicious. One of the best features is the ability to drive right up to the dealer's shop and move your purchase right onto your truck. Not only do they have great antiques but you get great ideas by the way they are displayed and how the antiques are re-purposed and refreshed with current fabrics and colors. My kind of shopping! Do yourself a favor and visit my favorite antique venue---just don't get in my way when I am doing some serious shopping!! read more

Blue Hills at Round Top is a great place to find historical treasures. There is a massive array of fantastic antique goods at this semi-annual event. I particularly enjoyed the vendors who run Maps and Art, in Barn A, as they are full of interesting stories that they will readily share with you. They also have wonderful collections of antique art, and I can't wait to get my hands on more. As an avid collector of antique artwork, I can say with confidence that this is one of my favorite events. Will be returning! read more
