I'm sure this place has an energy when full. As for my trip, not so much. It's very possible, I came in, unaware of the lore expecting to find a one off, vintage decor hotspot, but this place offers something else entirely. If you're seeking vibrant decor, western wear, beauty and wellness gifts, or graphic tees with an attitude in multiple sizes, this is your place. That being said, if this sounds like your vibe, the store is pretty sizable, just look for the giant pink car on your way in. It's personally not my aesthetic, but that doesn't mean it's not yours. If you find yourself in Round Top, it's certainly worth visiting atleast once. read more

I have been looking forward to visiting Junk Gypsy for a while now. I certainly loved everything here, but was expecting more of a thrifty kind of vibe and nothing in the place is what I would consider thrifty. Like at all. It is spectacular...don't get me wrong, but their story is of two sisters (or best friends?) who started out refinishing old junk furniture and they've done amazingly well, so well that they have opened this high-end retail store, which is wonderful to go and browse around and look at but you better bring your wallet and while you're at it bring your boyfriend's wallet too. If you're looking for the refinished old junk furniture? I didn't see any of that in here. read more

Woman-owned! This is usually our first stop when visiting Round Top. Shop around for clothing, coats, jewelry, home goods, boots, bedding, incense, candles, gifts... They also have a Kendra Scott "store" inside this Junk Gypsy selling a lot of their recent peices. I've purchased some jewelry sets, a silk scarf for my handbag, incense for the house ... I had my eye on a few Wrangler outfits, but they're pretty pricey. The boutique is set on property where there are food and coffee trucks out front and short-term rentals in the back. They do fashion shows, trunk shows, concerts... a lot going on there, especially during the spring and fall antique shows. read more

Calm and serene on the outside but one heck of a vibrant place on the inside. Unfortunately I don't take any inside photos since I was too busy wandering through. I have been wanting to stop in for YEARS and finally got my chance. Lots of cute things for this inner rowdy cowgirl, whether you are shopping for apparel or home goods. I was also fortunate to catch the after Christmas sale and snagged a few home goods too. The staff was warm and friendly, just as you would expect in lovely Round Top. This place is further down the road from all the other restaurants and shops but worth it. If you are traveling with an SO who is not into shopping, then they can sit outside on the lovely patio. I stopped by here on a day trip out with my parents. I had this place on my radar for a while and knew it would be a great stop on our way to Basdrop. First and foremost, this place is FILLED with treasures all around. Ladies, you will enter this place and just want to start buying everything with printed flowers and anything with a texas theme. While we enjoyed everything so much and had such a fun time looking around, prepare to spend a pretty penny. Don't let Junk Gypsy name fool you. It's definitely not priced as such. However, everything here is very much handmade supporting local vendors. It's not too often that you roll around Texas and find a big personality of a shop in a small Texas town. My amazing sister surprised me to a day trip to Junk Gypsy. We always see the sign when we are traveling to Texas City from Austin on 290 but never have the time to stop. SHE made it happen. If you like a girly, fun and unique shopping experience, then this is the place for you! We came a day before the Antique Shopping Show, which we heard is crazy busy with people. What a beautiful shop! It was better then I imagined. From the details in the building, yard & special touches throughout the store. Then the retail part!!! It's goes from design to shirts, to boots, to hats, earrings & jewelry! My family came in from Albuquerque, NM and this was one of my favorite stops. Soooo in love with this store! If I lived closer, I'd be here every weekend to hang out, be inspired and add unique items to my home. I found the selection quite diverse and with something for all tastes. I love the boho chic look and bought some adorable golden wings I can't wait to hang. Made the drive from CA to see what all the Round Top hype was about. After being unimpressed with the main part of the antique show, we checked out all the smaller shops up and down the road to see if there was anything interesting. The Junk Gypsy store caught our attention from the road and we stopped to browse. Nothing inside was much different than stuff you see at other stores but they had a "barn sale" that was opening the next day so we decided to come back the next day and check that out. While there were some interesting items in the barn, they were pretty huge and it takes just the right customer for those large pieces. The rest of the stuff in the barn was pretty much junk, like most antique stores and hoarder houses. Everything was dusty as if it's been sitting there, not moving, for a while. Lots of broken stuff. Basically a junk cemetery. Then you look at the price tags on this dirty broken stuff and you're like "you gotta be kidding me. That's the 'sale' price?" What a joke. We found a couple items that we kinda liked but considering the condition of these items I wasn't about to pay the price on the tags. I asked a girl at the counter about them and if they could do any better on the price. She didn't know anything so she went and asked another girl....who also didn't know anything and told her to ask this other girl. So we waited. And waited. And waited. And by now the girl we had asked in the first place was chatting it up with some other customers. Maybe she forgot about us? Maybe it's because we weren't wearing the typical boho poncho and the typical boho wide rimmed hat with feathers in it like every.....single....woman in Round Top. Maybe we didn't look rich enough? Whatever the case, we just ended up leaving and taking our money elsewhere. Obviously the Junk Gypsies are using their "fame" to price their items. No joke you look at that barn full of crap and you can tell it's been in there a while. Not priced to sell...stuff sitting there rotting. Not as bad as some of the other little places on that road but still Wish I would've had a better experience! Oh well, it'll still be collecting dust in a few years. Maybe i'll check again read more

Recently I stopped by the Junk Gypsy which was lovely because it wasn't during the ROUND TOP SHOPPING WEEKENDS; it wasn't busy and we were able to walk around without bumping into a zillion folks. I felt safe shopping there because everyone was wearing a mask. Here's the part that I feel in love with; the Hat Bar! OMG I have never worn a hat but now I'm the biggest fan. I purchased a $100 hat with some feathers and recently rocked an outfit that I put together. I had also purchased a DOLLY PARTON t-shirt so I was able to tie it all together and my mother-in-law thought I had just returned from Santa Fe. The lady with the pink hair was very helpful except she forgot to put my receipt in my bag which was disappointing because one of the items I bought was going to be a gift and I wanted to have that in case the items were too small or too large. Oh well. I would definitely return when in that area. Parking was easy and the front yard of the venue was super fun! read more

Gahhh!!! I got so excited when I came to the Round Top Antique Fair and found this gem! The store is absolutely ADORABLE! I wanted to literally buy two of everything, unfortunately it was pretty over priced so I settled for a t-shirt...for now! The people who work here kind of made me laugh, they were a little snooty. Didn't match the vibe of the store at all..come on ladies get your attitudes in check...God don't like ugly LOL. There is a lovely yard in front of the store with live music and food/drink trailers. Over commercialized and disappointing. The Round Top. Antique Show is one of the biggest fairs in the country. Junk Gypsy became famous to us on HGTV. The ladies we're not there to greet the largest crowd of fans they have. The merchandise is something you can order on line. The employees are friendly, the building is cute but we literally walked out and would never go back. This store is located roughly half an hour from where I live. I've stopped in quite a few times over the past couple of years and always enjoy my visits with one exception. The customer service is lacking big time. Not once have I been greeted or thanked for stopping by. It feels like they just don't care that you are there. You can find some awesome and unique stuff though. Home decor, accessories, bedding, handbags (including Consuela), an amazing variety of boots, even soaps. I will continue to drop by occasionally, but will continue to be irritated every time I leave, I suppose. Placed an online order months ago. I only received two of the items. I had to contact the store several times just to learn that the third item was back ordered. I've had to follow up for the last 4 weeks on the status and keep getting the same response. The communication from this store is severely lacking. Nice boutique but not what I expected! Thought there would be more junk but I guess I was thinking the store would be more like what the girls did on HGTV last year. They have a few pricy items of furniture and cement statues but it is mostly "gypsy" style boutique clothing and jewelry. That being said .....I do like that style! I flew in from Seattle and drove 2 hours from San Antonio.... only to find that they aren't open today although the hours they have posted at yelp say they are. Ok people you need to give these girls a break. Yes they may have different hours than posted in Yelp. Yelp is not ran by them. You should of called or checked their own site. They are small town girls in a very small town. Population 90! Small town stores always have different hours. You never know what could happen. I work and live in a small town and the same goes here. Someone may have been sick, the girls could have been getting ready for Roundtop antique show, could of been out of town etc.. Small businesses don't just have a plethora of employees like big businesses. Do your research before you go! I love these girls! I took a Saturday mini-road trip to the Junk Gypsy store to get out of Austin for the day and it was fun! The shop is super cute. However, this is not a junk shop, at least not anymore. You'll find lots of great Texas-style gifts, such as jewelry, leather goods, pillows, and t-shirts, but be ready to shell out the money. A long-sleeve Junk Gypsy t-shirt costs $45. They also have cowboy boots, around $300 a pair. If you're looking for junk, check out any of the road-side garages in the area for antiques and vintage junk. read more

My wife and I love the Junk Gypsy Company and the ladies who run the place. It's a great place to go for design ideas that have a combination of Texas country, rustic, and shabby chic, stuff you definitely won't find in any big-box store. We've had a place in Washington County for years, and this is our favorite spot in Round Top. My wife has to make a shopping expedition there at least three or four times a year to check out their new clothing. My favorite thing at JG is Junkapalooza, where they let the public browse their massive junk warehouse and buy design items (i.e. junk) at pretty reasonable prices. We've done about half of our country house with items purchased from these guys. And the best part is that they recently opened the Wander Inn, which is a bed-and-breakfast located on the back part of their spread. It's a great place to stay for a night if you want a little getaway or if you don't feel like driving back home after an outing. read more
