We were dealing with a melted electrical panel that posed a real fire risk due to overload, and after having multiple electricians come out, none were able--or willing--to properly help us. We were without electricity for 15 days, completely exhausted, and in urgent need of a licensed and certified contractor who could handle the project correctly, with permits and everything up to code. After 14 days, we finally came across SBB Electric --and everything changed. In less than 24 hours, we had the city permit issued, a new 200 amp panel and complete installation. No other company came close to that level of organization and urgency. SBB Electric was the only company that came fully prepared with the proper documentation required for city permits. Other electricians tried to have us sign as owner-builders, which the city clerk specifically advised us against. SBB immediately understood the situation and stepped in when we had nowhere else to turn. They even drove all the way from the Imperial Valley to help us, which speaks volumes about their commitment and professionalism. Despite the distance, SBB Electric showed up and got everything done--installation, connection, city approval, and SDG&E approval--in less than 5 hours. It was incredible. Communication throughout the entire process was clear, responsive, and professional, which made a huge difference during such a stressful time. However, now that we have been customers for years and our sales rep left, it takes multiple calls to even get through to customer service and then multiple follow up calls after since they have to email other departments to get an answer and do not call back. It seems like they are short staffed and for a big company like this should invest in more staff for customer service. That way they can provide the same experience we received in the beginning. It's been almost a month after I initially contacted them and my question still has not been answered. Seems like there is only one customer service rep and she definitely needs help.

My family and I had solar panels installed by SolarMax several years ago. Recently, we noticed…read morewater damage in multiple areas of our home. After inspecting the roof, I discovered a very concerning issue. When SolarMax installed the solar panels, they hired a roofing company to modify the roof beforehand. That roofing work was never properly completed, leaving a large section of the roof without shingles and exposing bare wood. As a result, there are now multiple areas of our home showing signs of water intrusion and possible mold. I immediately contacted SolarMax and informed them that this was an urgent matter requiring prompt attention. More than 24 hours have passed, and I have not received a response. I was told they would reach out to the roofing company they used, but there has been no follow-up. What I do not understand is how SolarMax could proceed with installing the solar panels, mark the job as completed, and leave our home with such a significant roofing defect. I am extremely concerned about the potential extent of the damage to our home, as well as the possible health implications for my family. I have never had allergies in the past, yet I began experiencing them shortly after the panels were installed, which raises serious concerns about mold exposure. I am hopeful that SolarMax will take responsibility for this issue and fully address both the roofing defect and any resulting damage to our home. However, I am very disappointed by the lack of communication and urgency shown so far.
