I' ll be honest here, I like Taco Bell much more. What burrito does right to me is relatively cheap prices for the amount of food you receive as well as very fast, efficient, and good service. What was disappointing was the food though. It was rather tasteless, beans salty and stale, rice flavorless, and the meat was pretty dry and tasteless. This is my favorite place to get a "huge" Americanized burrito! Their prices are very good, and everything is always fresh. The staff are very friendly and the line (while sometimes very long) moves very quickly, so don't leave because the line is long. There's also additional parking behind the business, and their outdoor patio is very nice. read more

This is probably what middle America thinks Mexican food tastes like. I don't do burritos so I opted for a taco, and it wasn't bad, it's just not really what I'd consider "authentic" Mexican food. The tacos are either chicken, beef, or pork. I opted for pork, and received a giant taco, filled with meat, rice, beans, cabbage, sour cream, avocado, and tomatoes. It was about ten times the amount of food you get from a taquarilla. The chips were good, but extra salty. And their hot salsa was decent, but the mild had a very distinct oregano, pasta sauce flavor. Also, as a warning, the decor is really f'ing loud. There are about 100 types of hot sauce for your use and they have these weird ceramic cat statues with hot peppers instead of whiskers. read more

This is not the best burrito in Redding (La Cabana has that), but it is a good option for those of us conducting business on Airport Road. You get a decent size burrito or burrito bowl for about $8. My only problem with this place is some of the burrito artists try to go too fast, especially if there's a line, and they tend to screw up. For example, last time I went I asked for a steak burrito with rice, black beans, cheese, pico, and onions....yet the kid dumped a load of sour creme on it. Reset. Start again. My other issue is the one kid who opens the Jarritos bottles with the ring on his finger. Please don't put your sweaty, greasy hand all over the bottle I'm about to put in my mouth. The girls use regular bottle openers, but this one guy uses his ring. Please stop that. Not cool. You know who you are. read more

Despite the poor reviews from the other members, there's a reason why Burrito Bandito has long lines... they make a very good burrito. I avoided them for years because I thought it was going to be a "white man's" burrito joint, but they actually make delicious burritos. They give you the choice of refried or black beans and they use shredded cabbage instead of wilted iceburg lettuce. I highly recommend the chile verde burrito! Yum, I am craving it, just thinking about it. We go to the Airport Road one, but have been to the Anderson & Placer Rd locations. I like the Airport Rd one the best. The burritos are huge (which is why we usually go there for lunch, eat half, and have the other half for dinner or lunch the next day.) OR, you can opt for a burrito bowl, which is also really good. It is worth the drive. Our out of town relatives ALWAYS want to go here when they come to Redding... I am wondering what they put it in that is so addicting :) read more

For someone like me who constantly say I am not a fan of Mexican food this is something for me to give a 4 star. First off, the restaurant itself looks very interesting, there are walls and walls of variety of chili sauce on sale with different brand names. It is so colourful! It felt almost like a souvenior shop in its own right! The decor was pleasant and it feels very cool inside too. They have a patio with tables and seats with umbrella but that day was was quite hot so we decided to sit in under the ceiling fan. I felt like I was in a foreign country on vacation! Well, it was at the end of my work day on a business trip in Redding with lovely weather and sunshine outside so well, it's almost like a bit of a vacation for me anyway. The service was fast and furious and very friendly. The long queue goes quickly as you approach the counter you ordered what you want and as you go along you pay at the cashier. There are plenty of seating in the restaurant and most people are getting take out too. I ordered the pork burrito which is huge! I jokingly told my coworkers that I am going to finish the whole thing in one go! My server was a friendly dude with a great smile who heard me and asked if I would like him to cut it in half and put half in a to go bag. HA! Yes, please :) The burrito was tasty and the condiment were fresh and cool, they put them in an ice-pool so it stays cool and refreshing when we consume it. How nice. We had a quick dinner at this location last night. We shared the steak quesadilla and chicken tacos. Both were delicious. I was extremely impressed with the customer service. Every single employee was friendly and efficient. As a previous poster stated, they have gone down hill. I was in recently, I ordered a "Burrito in a Bowl" and a taco, both to go. The Burrito in a bowl was made, but no taco, the woman looked pretty clueless so I just left it at that, and did not bother reminding her I'd also ordered a taco. I am surprised the Health Department has not instructed the Management that the servers hair should be up and out of the faces of the food preparers, I was really shocked to see the food preparers with loose, long, hair hanging all over the place. I've been here several times now. There's no other place so quick and cheap to feed your kid. Or yourself for that matter. $4.04 out the door for a massive bean, rice and cheese burrito. Though I won't eat here anymore since I always feel ill after. There's also not another place so surrounded by dust--the tiers of ancient fake foliage are so covered with dust they are a faded grey. Not unlike a woman, you must first find the type you are interested in drooling over time and time again. I have chosen the chicken burrito as my mistress. Others enjoy the spicy shredded steak.
