For years I've had Burrito Amor on my list of places to hit while in Tulum and finally this time around I made it! Loved it so much came back the next day. They're now in a bigger, better location right across the street from their old one. Very spacious to accommodate their popularity. They also added juices & concentrated elixirs to their menu. These healthy elixirs are perfect after a night of partying in Tulum. Their lattes are also wonderful and fortified with healthy ingredients like ashwaganda and cbd oil. Now for the food. I got the shrimp burrito on the first day and added avocado to it on the second day. Either version is delicious and not too heavy. Loved it. I had a bite of one of their egg burritos and didn't find it as flavorful, but it was still good. The servers are all wonderful. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. I'm so glad I finally made it here. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Tulum. read more

This is a must go to spot if you are in tulum. It is rated very well and for good reason. It is on the corner of the street and a popular tourist attraction. Our tour guide told us they loved it to long ago and quadrupled their size. These have to be the best burritos I've ever eaten. Normally I don't like burritos because they are stuffed so much everything falls out but these are perfect. To drink we order mojitos which were ok but they're know for their burritos so we ordered the smoked pork and pineapple and the rib eye of beef. I personally liked the smoked pork and pineapple better but they were both very good. They bring 4 different sauces to your table which you can choose to add depending on your tolerance for hot sauce. You do not need reservations but it does get busy so I'd try to swing by either just before or after lunch so you won't have to wait too long. Next time I'm in tulum I'm coming back! read more

I am SO happy I found this place when I was surfing the web for best restaurants in Tulum town. I had it on my notes for a place to for sure go to and I ended up going twice! The guac is so fresh and comes with fresh chips and fried corn tortillas and pico. The burritos are all pressed and wrapped in a banana leaf. The vegan burrito has to be the best burrito I ever had in my entire life. It was so fresh and had Mayan spinach and cactus in it! Sometimes locals come along and play live music, please tip them! I traveled here recently and their burritos were delicious! They are on the smaller side but hands down their best menu items are the shrimp burrito and the veggie burrito. I wanted to go here again during my stay, but I wasn't able to make it back. If you're really hungry, just 1 burrito won't fill you up so I'd recommend getting a side or honestly maybe 2 orders of the burrito. Not sure how that really affects the cooking preparation process or if it's gimmick but don't care as it was delicious. The burritos may not look huge if you're from America however they are packed full of ingredients and flavor, very filling! The ingredients are quality and taste fresh. Amongst my group we all loved the SHRIMP. Sharing with a few friends to sample more, I also loved the BEAN & CHEESE and VEGAN (NOPAL option) although we did add PORK. There is a lot of hype about this place. Like, a lot. So of course we decided to stop by here for brunch. The servers were pretty good with English so there was no trouble ordering. While I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, this restaurant is popular for being able to accommodate those with dietary restrictions. I got the al pastor burrito while my friend ordered the beef burrito. Mine wasn't particularly mind blowing, but my friend insisted that his was the BEST burrito he'd ever had. So, maybe I ordered wrong there. The food size was pretty big, despite how it looks. The burritos at this place were really good. I stopped here with my family after enjoying a day at the beach. I had a fresh juice and a vegetarian burrito. It was really flavorful. I was wrapped in a coconut tortilla, which I had never had before but that was also very tasty. The service was good. The staff spoke English. I'm trying to learn Spanish so after I told my server that he spoke to me in Spanish but continued to speak to the rest of my party in English which I really appreciated. We went for the lunch/dinner menu (although they serve breakfast all day and night.) We did take out and the servers were kind, professional and quick. Wow. I wish I found this gem earlier in my trip. This place is amazing. Everything about it is great, the decor, food and service! I first went for my last dinner in Tulum. I order the vegan burrito, the tapioca with toasted coconut and flute of flowers drink. All of it...DELICIOUS! As a new vegan, I sometimes find myself thinking how something would be better if it had meat. Not this burrito. It was insanely flavorful. The aroma from the toasted coconut on the tapioca was inviting but not overwhelming when eaten. I returned the next morning for breakfast and ordered the avocado toast, chia pudding and the cinnamon roll smoothie. The presentation of the Avocado toast was beautiful and tasted just as good. The chia pudding made me say wow out loud because I was amazed by the flavor. Cinnamon roll smoothie...delicious of course. Loved Burrito Amor so much - we visited twice and got 2 burritos for the plane ride home. I ordered my burrito with eye fillet of beef, shrimp, scrambled eggs, grilled purple onions, cheese and avocado. I'm really picky with burritos - the consistency, ratio of ingredients and juiciness has to be just right, but Burrito Amor checked all the boxes for me. Each bite had the perfect ratio of ingredients. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also tried their smoked pork which was delicious as well, but preferred the eye fillet of beef. I like that you can start with their egg burrito and fully customize it to your liking. I also ordered their horchata which had the perfect level of sweetness. I loved their coconut tortilla (and coconut oil sauce!) which added a unique texture and flavor to their burritos. It had just the right amount of coconut flavor without being overwhelming. The texture was chewier and more moist than a typical tortilla. Wish I could find this coconut tortilla locally and order all my burritos with this coconut tortilla. Their sauces are seriously the best. My favorite was the white habanero sauce which had a definite kick but wasn't over the top. They also had a chipotle sauce and green sauce (I believe it had avocado in it) which were tasty as well. They have two locations - both are open air locations and both had friendly service. They also accept card with a fee. I noticed that their website states that a US location is coming soon! I'll be craving their burritos until next time. read more

If you need a bit of guidance then order the SCRAMBLED EGGS with PICÓ DE GALLO (for breakfast ... add smoked pork to knock it out of the park) or AL PASTOR PORK for afternoon fare. The crew that serves you up is awesome and attentive so don't hesitate to customize a bit although the menu is well variated and will satisfy a demanding burrito enthusiast. About 3 years ago we went to the original Burrito Amor just outside of Tulum and were blown away by their incredible shrimp and vegetarian burritos rolled in a coconut tortilla. So when we returned to Tulum this summer we were all so excited to get a burrito at Burrito Amor. When we drove to their new location we noticed that the prices had almost doubled since our last visit. The inside of the restaurant was nice but seemed more like a high end bar than a burrito spot. The service was very friendly and that was truly the highlight of a very disappointing experience. When we eagerly bit into our shrimp burritos we were so disappointed that they were mostly lettuce and tomatoes with very little shrimp. For over $15 a burrito they were truly overpriced lettuce rolls. We can get much better burritos in California for less money. Such a bummer as this used to be one of our favorite spots to eat in Tulum. We will not be back. read more
