Located in the small town of Ipava Illinois (population 440), Potsie's Roadhouse sits alongside US…read moreRoute 136. It is housed in a small(ish) non-descript brick row-building. Parking is street-side. Inside it is divided into two dining areas. There is a dining area just inside the front door that seats about 40. A middle area has tables for about 30 diners. That area also contains a "U" shaped bar, a space for pizza preparation, a pizza oven and I believe what may have been a couple of video gaming machines. To the rear is the kitchen. Yeah, space is at a premium. I ordered the large tenderloin sandwich $8.95 and my SO had the butterfly pork chop sandwich $6.95. Sandwiches came with potato chips but she substituted french fries (at apparently no extra cost). Two fountain drinks rounded out the tab at $20.05. When the food arrived my eyes must have bugged out. My tenderloin was huge. It dwarfed the 6 inch bun and hung over at least 2 inches all around. Even with such a large meal on my plate, I found that I was having extreme sandwich envy after eyeing the wife's order. Her butterfly pork chop sandwich was actually 2 grilled pork chops (flattened and tenderized) on a bun. Her sandwich was just massive and like mine overwhelmed the bun. I managed to (just) finish mine while she brought half of hers home. Both sandwiches were superbly cooked. My tenderloin was deep fried to a crisp golden brown and her's was grilled yet tender and moist. The flavor of each sandwich was spot on. While mine was tasty, her's was REALLY good! Please note that since seating is limited, early arrival is a must. We got there at 5PM on a Wednesday and left at about 6:15 the place was busy the whole time. I'm sure that come Fridays and Saturdays the place turns into a zoo.

He had grown up in the area and stated he remembered it having pretty good food. We arrived just before noon and sat at the bar. It was dark inside, with high top tables and chairs along the far wall and glass stained hanging lights providing light. The service was quick and friendly. I really enjoyed my double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. My side of Cole slaw was good too. Sadly it wasn't time to order a cold draft , ha! They did, however, have several inviting beers available on tap including Amberbock, Sam Adams Cold Snap, and Yuengling to name a few. There's an adjoining room with a pool table. This is not a trendy place nor a flashy place. This is a classic old style bar with good food and good service.

Never been here before so didnt know what to expect, unfortunately cant say it was the best experience. Got x2 Mozzarella sticks which were both slightly burnt and tasted a bit off, but weren't too bad. Also got fries - which were soggy and a bit cold. Then i got a "Medium Rare" burger which is my fault as i didnt know how they cook their burgers there so i cant fully blame them but it was disappointing and straight up disgusting. Spent $11 on a burger i couldnt even eat because it was straight up raw - called and complained in the nicest way i could explaining how it was raw and i didnt even get my side that costed $2. Lady was kind, again. Not her fault at all for anything. she explained to me how medium rare is supposed to be more on the raw side - which yes i get it. But this wasnt medium rare. It was straight raw. The meat tasted gross and smelted very raw. Looks just like straight up raw ground beef, it fell apart when i barely even touched it. But she said they can get me a new burger and the side when i see them again but unfortunately im not from Sheffield so i couldnt get it again as they are closed the next day and its already almost midnight.. Just saying | was quite disappointed for the price I paid since I couldnt even eat it: (wish i could have been given a refund.

Review Date: June 6th, 2016…read more Aside from beer, they have deliciousness on tap. I think I discovered this place while looking at online lists of unique or delicious places to try. I figured Canton isn't a terribly long drive for me if I made it a day to travel and see other things around Billy's Tap. Guess what. That's exactly what my girlfriend and I did. We made plans to check out the Tap and other places in the area. We rolled up on a quiet afternoon. Canton is a small town so I assume most days are quiet around there. We stopped before entering to take some fun photos with the giant log painted on the wall. Well, I posed for some photos. My shy girlfriend isn't one to draw attention to herself... being shy and all. We headed in and were greeted by an excellent pub. The place had this classiness to it that I didn't expect from a small town. I could see how this place was on a few list of 'must try' places. None of that matters if the food is awful though, so we grabbed a seat and go to ordering. BBQ bacon burgers are our usual menu item to order and we were able to order something along those lines at Billy's Tap. Since we still had some driving and exploring to do, we declined to get too much food and be miserable. Just the bacon burgers and we split some french fries. Our waitress was small-town friendly and made some small talk while we sat there, taking in the scenery. I can't express how amazed I was at how nice this place was. I was also amazed at the sight of our food when it came out. Despite getting an order of french fries to split between us, there was a huge pile of them that could've been a meal of it's own. As for the slab of meat between the patties, that just looked fantastic. I was amazed at the interior. I was amazed at how the food looked. Was I amazed at how it tasted. Heck yes, I was. Each bite of the burger was succulent and full of juices and flavor. Each bite was heaven for this carnivorous man. The bacon had that nice crisp to it that I loved while remaining greasy at the same time. It's how I cook my bacon at home. The meat patty was the same. Juicy but not to the point where it would leave juices running down your chin. This thing was easily a Top 10 if not Top 5 burger for me. The only thing it was missing was the BBQ sauce but that's not going to count against it. Just a personal preference. Again, I could see why this place made it on some lists. This place seems somewhat unassuming on the outside but the second you walk in, you know you are in for a treat. Sadly it's just too far away for me to try again but I am glad to have tried it the one time. I wonder what the delivery cost would be to have one brought to me....
