The beautiful modern dining room is spacious, warm, inviting, and modern! We were greeted immediately and we're told that we can sit at any table that we would like to! For our families that was huge, because we have an infant in comfortability is key! The food was hot and delicious and they even were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions! This restaurant is definitely a 10 out of 10 for food, atmosphere and service! I would highly recommend!

Theres plenty of parking and they have a small area for outside seating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.

It was quite with some music. Service was friendly but just a little slow. We ordered a variety of dishes including: Chorizo al Vino Tinto, Spiendini, Patatas con Aioli, Croquettes, Gambas a la Plancha, Gambas al Ajillo, Albondigas, Carne Pizza, and Paella de Carne and the Zeppole for dessert. We loved the Chorizo al Vino Tinto and the Spiendini. Both were delicious and well seasoned. The Gambas a la Plancha had a very good chimichurri sauce and the Albondigas were very flavorful. The Paella came out quickly but it wasn't my favorite. It wasn't like a traditional Paella and there were olives and red onions. Overall still ok, and the Gambas al Ajillo had a sweetness to it. The Carne Pizza was good though. My friend ordered the cocktail Purple Rain and he enjoyed it. We did like most of the items ans would definitely come back to try the other dishes.

Service: Always exceptional. I can't believe I haven't left a review before! We always come here for big occasions because there is so much choice and we love tapas style lunch/dinner: 10/10 Food: What isn't good here!? We always get the charcuterie board, the white pizza, the paella, and other small plates:10/10. Drinks: I've tried quite a few of their cocktails and have to admit the only thing I didn't love was the Bloody Mary but that is down to personal preference. Everyone makes theirs a little different and that's okay. Regardless: 10/10. Overall, a solid 5 stars for Tapa Rio. I'll keep coming back here for sure!

As you walked, the restaurant is clean, cozy and vibrant. There were 3 items ordered: 1) Avocado Toast 2) Cuban Sandwich 3) Apple French Toast. Let's start with the avocado toast, as it was presented on a platter with two grain toasted topped with smashed avocado and your choice of eggs which in this case was medium over easy and it comes with your selected sides - masala's with balsamic. Everything was delicious but I prefer my eggs to have a slight crust around the whites. The next item was the Cuban sandwich which didn't come in your typical Cuban style pressed sandwich. This was more a settle and healthy approach using 2 slice sourdough, pork, ham, honey mustard and pickles. The flavor was there as a Cuban version but kinda of a unique way of presenting it. For dessert, I wanted to try the apple stuffed French toast but only order half which comes with 2 pieces instead of 4. On the menu, it stated it was stuffed but I only found 2 pieces of apple chunks so I wasn't able to taste the full effect. It was also garnished with fresh blueberries and a bottle of warm syrup. Our server Kaya was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't mind making another visit to try other items on their menu.

We ordered the Perfect Platter: 2 eggs, 2 sausages, and two slices of French toast (one person had plain French toast, the other ordered it blueberry-stuffed). We also ordered a side of whole wheat toast and home fries. Washed it down with plain coffee. The best tasting item on the table was the toast. There wasn't much flavor in anything else. The French toast was mediocre. The home fries were also flavorless. The coffee was bitter. We ate at a cheap, popular national breakfast chain yesterday and found that to be more flavorful than this place. I wish this place well, but the next time I'm in VA, I'll be heading back to the cheap national breakfast chain.

For food, we chose to try the pimento toast as a small starter which was a great opening bite. I opted for the fried chicken sandwich which was a huge portion and perfectly crispy. We enjoyed our lunch visit to Foode, both for the cozy ambience and the food!…read more I got the Grilled Burrata Cheese Sandwich with Old Bay fries as my side. The sandwich definitely hit all the notes for comfort food: buttery sourdough bread, gooey cheese, and some added flavor from the onions. Given how milky burrata is, I think more onions or some added herbs could have punched up the flavor a bit, but overall I liked the sandwich a lot. The fries were very good as well, but again, could have used a bit more of the seasoning for which they were named. My lunch companion got the Chinese Chicken Salad, which he like as well, though he commented that it was a little on the dry side and could have used more dressing. (Perhaps the kitchen staff working our lunch had a light hand in general?) My small critiques are just that, though: small. It was a very nice meal in a charming space, and I suspect we'll make a point to eat there again on our next visit to the area.
