My experience was that reserving a spot, paying for it, getting there early and checking in didn't actually mean getting into the class. Earlier this week I reserved a spot and paid for it. Today I got to the class early. I filled out the legal form and got shoes. I waited for them to take me to a bike. But the bike was taken. Apparently someone had grabbed it or they had given it away. They hunted for more spots. A few more people walked in and got bikes. By the time they got to me, there were no more spots, I didn't get in, and my time and money are now being squandered. They gave me some free classes and the women working at the desk were apologetic and friendly. They said this has never happened before. They suspect someone sneaked in without paying. Maybe so, but this isn't what I wanted at all. It bums me out because I was meeting up with a friend and looking forward to it, had rearranged my day to be at the class, drove a ways to get here, hunted around for parking, paid for parking, and going to the class meant I had to leave an event early with my nieces and find someone to watch them for me. As a busy person, it really frustrates me when my time and money get wasted like this. It's possible I'll try going back and I may also ask for a refund. Will update this review if that happens, and the lesson I learned is this is a place where you might have to be pushy to get what you paid for. That said, the place was popular and it seemed like people were enjoying the class. But this was definitely a terrible way to be introduced to Burn Cycle.

Never in my life would I have guessed that the best studio I've visited is in HAPPY VALLEY (no offense to people who live here, but it's just unexpected). So, lucky for all of you Happy Valley residents to get to have this GEM in your backyard!! For others, it's worth the drive Gyms have taken a huge hit through Covid closures. This studio is super prepared and ready to welcome you back - definitely consider this work out spot an excellent venue to turn your 2022 health goals to action. P.s. For anyone who hasn't tried it, Spinning is seriously an amazing, calorie-crushing, FUN workout - and you don't be afraid to start it at ANY age, whether you're in shape or not!! It's great to see riders of all ages in the room too. Spinning can change your life!!! Clearly, I'm impressed. Great first time experience here today. Hope this helps spread the word

It reminded me of rowing where you have to pay a lot of attention to form and figuring it out before you get the hang of it. Though I don't think you'll really injure yourself here like you can with your back in rowing. I do Pilates at least once a week, walk daily, lift and do yoga, but need to find a little extra cardio I actually enjoy, so as a class pass junkie I signed up for this. It's close to my house but less walkable unless you have a lot of time. I'm always surprised there aren't any fitness studios besides Barry's at the waterfront . The highlight of this studio was the staff. From the front desk really being welcoming, having your locker already ready, and quickly able to instruct you on how to use the machine, it was really helpful. The class instructor was also very helpful after class when I explained what was not working well and he had a solutions focused mindset as well as letting me know that it took him 3 to 5 classes to kind of figure out what he liked. I was putting my weight in the front of my foot the entire time-- it seemed intuitive to me because the front of your foot is what's locked into the step -- but I knew something was wrong because my feet were numb the entire time I felt like I was walking in heels on a bike. Then when I sat down, my butt was sore, but I'm sure you would adjust to that eventually. He had a good explanation of where to put your weight in where you should feel the muscle that I will use next time. It was definitely a good workout, I actually sweat which I never do in most classes. Major tips: - if you're large chested in the strength class you'll need a strong sports bra like you would for soccer. You're welcome - Don't start with a strength class. As much as I love the weight piece you get a better feel of the bike, taking the centered class. - if it's your first class come 10 mins early or so + time to park. I came w 5 and cut it close trying to learn the bike and get locked in--literally. - Highly rec if you're in between shoe sizes go up a size. - Push from the back of your legs with your weight on your heels not the ball of your foot. Areas of improvement: - additional mic speakers or better distribution between the mic and music It was hard to hear the instructions sometimes - I wish you'd be able to opt in to receiving your "metrics" I feel like anybody showing up for a workout class has a win--most people don't go. There's so much competition in the corporate world and everywhere outside of work, just knowing your own stats, less so compared to others would maybe be more beneficial. I will definitely be back to try one of the centered classes that seems to be less competitive and more on the bike vs standing while I warm up my skills. Thanks all!

Best spin studio around! Go, now!…read more 2 ex Barre3 instructors started this and I am addicted!!! I go about 2-3 times a week and love the results and the overall energy. The bikes are good quality and not SUPER close together. There are only 22 bikes I think total. Not 50! The room keeps cool and the instructors are amazing and motivation. Eryn's playlist is the best (if you like gangster rap like me) You more or less dance on the bike to the beat of the music. You don't even know you are working out. Best 45 mins ever! Its hard to do anything else that's an hour now because after this 45 mins you are dripping sweat and feel amazing. And it's a total body workout, lots of arms and jumps/tapbacks. Erica used to work at Nordstrom too so she has a good eye for the Starcycle clothing, all of their clothes are super cute. They even have some cute jewelry for sale. They do have child care as well which is nice for the moms. They are hiring more instructors and offering more times so it will be even better with more of a variety of instructors and more flexible with class times. Few cons: no showers and can't reserve your bike online. They do have the necessities needed in the bathrooms (hair ties, spray deodorant, etc.) and a changing room. I have tried all the others in the area and even Soulcycle and this is the best around here and Portland area! You may need to go a few times to get the hang of it and get over the sore bum but it is worth it!! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Beware though, its very addicting!

I like the instructors and facility was clean. Would have given 5 stars but I brought 2 of my LA friends here over the weekend. They're in town for our best friend's birthday. When we all checked in together the front desk told us, since they're not local they'd have to pay for the class. Fine, no problem at all. On the way out we were all talking with instructor Jessica and giving feedback etc, the front desk told us since we paid for the class today they'd comp them the next class. So my two friends signed up for the next day which I was also signed up for. When you're new to cyclebar it's pretty common for them to text and call you. My friends got texts the AM on day 2 class asking us how day 1 went and looking forward to seeing us that AM. We showed up and were informed all our spots were cancelled because we're from LA and there wouldn't be a free class. First, I paid for all my classes, a pack of 3 and a single so very odd that I would be cancelled. Second, if we're receiving text confirmations about our class 45mins before arriving, please don't cancel them on us when we actually arrive. Lastly, it's not about the money, we all paid and were happy to, but don't promise something and then change the tune when we show up. The whole encounter that day felt VERY bait and switch and made us feel unwelcome. As a result wouldn't go back to this location.
