WOW: THIS STORE HAS GONE DOWNHILL SIGNIFICANTLY; ITS ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL NOW! -EVERY SINGLE AISLE WAS LITTERED WITH TRASH (SODA CANS, DUNKIN CUPS, Starbucks cups, etc). OR HAD ITEMS STREWN ABOUT RANDOMLY EVERYWHERE! WHAT A MESS!! -THE CHECKOUT LINE IS SO LONG, ITS NOT WORTH COMING HERE AT ALL- because you need to reserve at least 45 minutes to check out... Honestly not worth shopping here at all anymore because EVERY SINGLE TIME I COME HERE- THE LINE IS CONSISTENTLY 20+ people long! I have left many full carts here due to time constraints and today was no different! I am honestly extremely frustrated with Burlington in JOHNSTON, RI! CORPORATE: HOW ABOUT YOU HIRE SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN TO RUN THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS AT THE JOHNSTON, RI store because they have got to be LOSING THOUSANDS of dollars A DAY! Whether they're losing money in merchandise via LOSS PREVENTION (it definitely appears as though stealing is rampant in this store) because nearly every item I grabbed off the shelves had a sensor of some sort (even $4-$5 items)!!! I had a 2 hour window to shop here today and I knew the line was going to be long so I walked up about 20-25 mins before I had to leave but IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME....so sad... This is not the first time that I have left a full carriage behind, and I'm sure it won't be the last, however; after my frustrations today- I don't think I will ever set foot in this store again. It's a shame because they have AMAZING products at even better price points- but when I tell you the entire STORE IS a disastrous MESS. Not one aisle I walked down was clean- they were all REALLY GROSS. I also can't tell you how much trash is in every single aisle either. Horrible customer service. I come to this location a lot because it's close for me , and because I love Burlingtons prices. I have come here a handful of times and never wrote a review until I knew for sure this location needed my review and this topped it off . Every single time I come to this location the line is out the door, always! I tried to give it a chance thinking different days would be less staffed or whatever the case but this place is just all around incredibly horrible . Let's state facts here . 1. They have 11 registers . 2. They have 3 employees working the registers. 3. There's always 2 other cashiers just playing around trying to " look busy" in the layaway area. Now every time I go to checkout I always sit in line for 10 minutes or more , never less. So on top of being annoyed of understaffed registers , you get to the cashier and they don't great you , don't communicate with you , don't ask for the phone number they're supposed to ask for , for easy returns. They literally ring you out and tell you your total and you're on your way. And what makes me even madder is they hand me my receipt instead of asking if I want it in my bag when they clearly see I have 100 things I'm already holding. I say this company needs to hire more employees , maybe get rid of the ignorant ones they already have , and hire people dying to get jobs. And the only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because I like the prices , but this location is in the negatives. read more

The store looked different when I walked in. Its cleaner, more organized and seemed like all inventory was less than usual. I went for a coat & they did NOT disappoint. I ALWAYS get lucky at Burlington! I walked out with 2 coats for what I was going to pay for 1. Cute, trendy colors, multiple size choice and fit was great. Only Con: couldn't find a mirror to see the coats on so I had to improvise. read more

I have been going to this Burlington Coat Factory location now for the past 2 months and have been satisfied with the low prices and quality clothes .However on Mon .July 11th 2022.I had an extremely bad experience with a cashier named Deborah on register 4 at 4:50PM.When I was in line there was no light lit on register 4 so it made it less conspicuous as all the other available register lights were on and when I arrived at the register and used my debit card to pay for my purchase this cashier rudely stated "Social Security is sending out checks early this month."I simply replied really and left. I always do this instead of talking to management because I found in past dealings with rude cashiers that management are extremely lax on their help and don't take strong actions such as being given a suspension or firing! A simple warning doesn't show them the error of their actions and thus such rude behavior continues! I usually use the self checkout in stores so I won't have such encounters. Unfortunately Burlington doesn't have this option yet. read more

I haven't been in the store in many years cause I don't shop much since I retired. I did, however, have to go to a wedding and I went online to their website because my friend had gotten a dress here that was beautiful. I found a great selection on their website of dresses in all kinds of sizes styles and colors and I was happy to have so many to choose from. I ordered a couple of dresses in a couple of sizes because I hadn't bought clothes in so long and the delivery was very quick. I tried on the dresses at home and made my decision and then went to the store to return what I wasn't going to use. There was a very long line in the store for returns and purchases but they moved quickly and the sales people were very pleasant and helpful. I had paid with pay pal which brought a little bit of confusion but it was quickly cleared up and I was on my way. A friend recently recommended I check out the baby depot at Burlington Coat Factory. I was slightly hesitant since my last experience at this store felt like digging through piles and piles of clothes to find something - exhausting. But, after seeing exactly what I needed right away, I continued down the baby aisles and found a bunch of hidden gems (Christmas outfits, shoes, socks, etc.) and all designer names and very marked down prices. I even found an outfit I was originally going to buy at Macy's for about a third of the price at Burlington. So if you don't mind a little digging (go when you have enough time - my quick errand trip turned into over an hour), check this store out. The cashier was also very friendly. As a side note: Their return policy is a little funny though - a few weeks to return something and the last time I was there I had to get money back from a mailed check the company sent out weeks later. read more

I like this Burlington over the others I've visited.ive been to the Burlington in east prov and Woonsocket. I'm a big guy and have better luck at this location finding what I need. I prefer coming in there "off hours" so it's not so busy.reason being is cashing out sucks here.long lines and they coral you like cows in a zig zag fashion surrounded by shelving.with long waits in line and a monitor that announces when a window is open I feel like I'm at the registry. I gave 4 stars since it's the only place I can find clothes and cheap prices. read more

I'm only giving this particular Burlington Coat Factory 3 stars because this is the only location that I have the best luck with finding what I'm looking for. I've given up on trying to find clothes here. The racks are always disorganized, items are always in the wrong size bracket, pieces of clothing are on the floor, shoes are mismatched, house wares are broken, etc. After stopping in the N. Attleboro location looking for shoes, I found two pairs that I really adored but of course, they did not have my size. This is why I headed to the Johnston location. I was able to find both pairs of shoes in my size, which made me do a little happy dance. I'd say the only saving grace to the entire Burlington Coat Factory corporation, is the shoe department. I love me some shoes, I love me some inexpensive shoes and I love me some trendy/cute shoes; all of which I can find here. Also, from time to time, I will find a hand bag that I adore or a rockin' pair of dangly, sparkly earrings that I must have. Overall, Burlington Coat Factory isn't a bad place to go shopping, but just be prepared to hold your nose when you get out of your car at the Johnson location; the landfill is very ripe. read more

Yes, there is always a line for the register. Yes, it has a convenient location for me. Yes, the discounted prices are really nice. We have found lots of good stuff, especially on the coat side. If you can manage to navigate through the hip hop / skate board / want to be thug looking cloths, you can find some really good deals. They also have a pretty good selection of home goods. read more

Can't remember if I went to the one in Johnston or Cranston (we were all over providence and the surrounding areas) I think Johnston cause 6a sounds familiar when we were looking for it. Anyway I know it wasn't any of the ones in the midwest. I'm all about service and the staff here was awesome! They actually looked, I mean really searched for that missing right shoe I couldn't find in my size. I wanted it so bad I refused to take off the left one when it didn't turn up lol. Oh well I went up a whole size (ended up selling them cause it was pretty awkward attempting to wear shoes too big lol) But kudos to the staff that happily assisted me and seemed genuinely empathetic when it didn't turn up. One of the young ladies even offered to call when it did. Plus the selection of shoes were great. Annnnd My daughter who is pretty picky about clothes, came out of there with a whole wardrobe to start college in. Outfits, clothes, a coat, 2 jackets and shoes. she was pretty happy. Oh yeah I also learned you guys call yourselves 'Lil Rhodies" I enjoyed my visit to Rhode Island. read more

As anyone who knows me knows I love to shop and love a deal even more. This location is usually clean but maybe got shopped hard today. A restroom is a good barometer of a business and this one was awful. It stunk to high heaven. All the toilet seats were soiled and only one stall had toilet paper. They had a bunch of tables with toys laid out on them and my dad and I tripped a few times because there were so many of them fallen or thrown to the floor. Besides the dirty bathroom and tripping hazard the service was good. The woman working the fitting room was pleasant and helpful. They were moving people along the checkout line quickly which was impressive since it was so busy. The cashier was also friendly and efficient. Prices are great. My dad bought some really great dress shirts for 1499. I got some xmas gifts that will remain unnamed in case any of the recipients are reading ;). In summary it's worth going to check out the cheap deals but make sure you use the bathroom before you get there. ! read more

Last week, as I looked through my coat closet, I found a lined raincoat which was in "like new" condition but was no longer comfortable on me. I had heard about the ad from Burlington Coat Factory accepting coats for those in need and decided to do just that with a reward of a 10% off coupon. It was about 5:15PM when I arrived and I began looking for the location to drop off the coat. To my surprise, there was none. No signs, no one to ask and a line that was quite long. Since I unable to wait due to my time constraints, I returned home with the coat. The poor organization of such a large store certainly leaves a lot to be desired. When one is donating an item, it seems rather unkind to have them wait in a line in which customers have full carriages. I will try again when I am in the area, but certainly hope that perhaps Burlington Coat Factory management would design a more efficient way to collect for those in need. read more

Great selection of men's Big and Tall. Huge clearance selection for men today, not so good in the women's section though. Homegoods dept is nice too. Very busy store. Things are not the most organized. Go there when you have a lot of time to really look through everything. read more

What a dump. Everything is disorganized. I shopped the girls dept and it was a mess, the sizes were mixed up, pants, shirts etc were mixed together. I tried housewares the shelves were empty and what was there was just junk. I went to the baby dept and again the shelves were empty and the tables were just piles of who knows what. The store was empty yet there was clothing and other things on the floor. This place is worse then a thrift store. I won't be back. read more
