While this store carries a better and larger selection for everything, the set up is chaotic, unorganized, and inaccessible to those handicap. The racks are pushed so close together for alot of sections that you can barely push your cart through. There's so many items tossed on the floor, you have to be careful that you don't trip. The bathrooms are atrocious. Gas station bathrooms are cleaner. The last 3 visits, the lines have been so long, it avgs between an hour to an hour and thirty minutes. I waited an 1 hr 26mins on a Wednesday morning. Trip before that was also a weekday morning and it took 1hr 15mins. Time before that the line was so long, a pregnant woman collapsed, and it took forever to get staff over to help, thankfully other customers around her helped her, before a manager came over with a folding chair. When buying things you really have to inspect that sets are complete, shoe sizes match, and that there aren't tears/rips and staining in the clothing and fabrics. It happens alot, in this particular location. I have never had those issues at the green acres and Massapequa locations. I feel like prior to their huge renovation, it was better organized and run. read more

I shop here often for home goods, electronics and clothing. If you're having an event or need a unique gift they have a large selection. It's rare that I walk out of here empty handed. Today I needed string photo lights and a decorative light box for my daughter's upcoming slumber party to make it whimsical. For $7 they delivered with brands from the Limited Too store to The Sharper Image. This store can be pretty messy but on a good day, you can find some affordable diamonds in the rough. I scored a low cut pair of limited edition converses today for myself and a pair of Air Force Ones previously for my daughter under $40. Living in New York is expensive. If you can find a good deal to budget yourself, then it's worth it. The lines often look like a Beyoncé concert but it's totally worth it. read more

So I was here on 12/24. I epected chaos and long lines, but this was way more than expected. I had to return something and decided to browse a bit before enduring the long line. Unfortunately the racks were more empty than full and remaining items were not hanging in their proper sections. I nixed the shopping and headed straight to the long line. The crowd on line was rowdy and noisy and the line moved very slowly. 53 minutes later I reached a cashier. Perfectly pleasant considering how busy they'd been. Burlington, you let me down! This place used to have everything! My most recently visit, the shelves were bare, the lights were dim, and everything looked a tad less-shiny. This place could use some tidying up. I brought my boyfriend here to look for a New Year's Eve outfit and there was not much to choose from. There weren't many ties/bow-ties/ shoes to choose from. Additionally, there was no one to take care of the dressing room. Only a lady who walked in an out to take products back to their original shelf. The changing room was a mess. This whole store needs to be cleaned up though. A positive is that this location has plenty of parking. There were enough staff members for check-out for the lines to move smoothly. Hope this store works it's way back up to how it used to be. If you want a newer Burlington Coat Factory location, go to the Green Acres Mall location. read more

Been to this particular location twice. First time was a few months ago, walked in, found the clothes I wanted, saw the checkout line of about 100+ people, put everything down and left. Just came back for the second time at 10pm, the line was disgustingly long, we decided to shop around and hope it'd go down a bit, which it somewhat did by the time we got all we needed. We still proceeded to wait over a HOUR! on line while 2 registers were open. For a store to decide to choose staying open, rather than closing early to prioritize cleaning the pigsty this entire store is, you'd think the checkout would go quick and painlessly, yet ironically my back and feet were in agonizing pain of mindlessly standing in line as 2 registers slowly checked dozens and dozens of people out. Besides this embarrassment of a checkout line, which should have self kiosks available by now for faster checkout, the store did have clothes I liked and wanted. But the disorganized is just laughable for a well established brand name to have. If only a district manager bothered to walk into this store they'd think they walked into a jungle. Baby shoes in the mens size 11 section, shirts and pants just scattered all over the floor in the isles, size smalls in the large, just a laughable mess to have a store like this. My suggestion as a customer who had to sit through this horrible experience, hire more staff to manage such a large store (only saw 4 employees in the entire store including the checkout people), get self checkout kiosks, and close earlier to dedicate cleaning and organization like a normal functioning store like Walmart or Costco. 2/5 stars ONLY because I found clothes I like. And please do not reply to this review telling me you will 'look into this', like you have with the other reviews from months ago, it's apparent that nothing was done and that was just a lie to hold a public image of doing something. Just found out that management doesn't want to give more hours and only hires part time, good job guys you really did a good job. read more

What a show. The place is disgusting. Everything is in the wrong spot or just thrown on the floor. You'd think the people who work there would pick it up, but no, they just look at the pile of clothes or whatever merch is on the floor, roll their eyes and walk away. I'm not saying one employee did this, I'm saying multiple. Then when I finally found what I needed, the line to check out was ridiculously long and the cashiers were painfully slow. I was on line for over half an hour. The line was long, but any other store, the wait would be half as long. Why? Because at most other places, the cashiers see the long line and don't stop to talk with other cashiers or, and I can't believe it happened, they called the next person on line and walked away before the customer got there. I am the Director of a Christian non-profit in Freeport, NY. Myself and my son were shopping at the Garden City Burlington location today for backpacks for our upcoming Back to School event where we give out 1000 free backpacks to our local community children. At around 1:15pm Saturday May 27, 2023, we waited on thr line for over 30 minutes, finally got to the register and presented our IRS tax exemption papers in order to get our purchase tax-free. We had backpacks totaling about $700 in our carts. The manager Lou is called to the front to process the transaction. We have shopped at this very location many times before with no problems and our tax exemption was applied. Lou the manager we interacted today refused to look us up in the system or give us the exemption claiming he needed the original form. That's not how this works. The form provided by the IRS is printed on regular paper. All that is needed is the Tax ID number and other identifying info. Plus some retailers ask to keep the copy for their records (hence why we carry copies around). I am very disgusted with this manager and the lack of professionalism and prejudice exhibited by him. He refused to help us with no valid explanation as to why. Do not shop here. read more

Absolutely disgusting. I wish I could give zero stars or even negative 5 stars because that's how bad this place is. When you turn the corner for the restroom, you can already smell the stench. The lights in bathroom are so dim, almost every stall is either out of order or stuffed up. The only handicap stall doesn't even have a DAMN seat! DISGUSTING!! I looked around a bit. The fitting room looked a little skeevy but I went in because my mom was with me. The woman who was folding clothes in there was nice and even let me take one item over the six(since that's all I had). I went into a fitting room and was disgusted by what I saw. The door had sheetrock exposed with nails coming out. I didn't even want to put my jeans that I had on on the floor(I handed them to my mom). I started to put the first item on, but just got completely grossed out. I needed to get the eff out of there as soon as humanely possible. The woman said that it was quick and I thought to myself 'yeah and I am not staying here one moment longer'. I couldn't get out of the store quickly enough. I felt so disgusting, I felt like I needed to take 10 showers and I still wouldn't be clean. Needless to say I will NOT be back and will make sure no one that I know ever comes to this Burlington. read more

There is no store like Burlington. I see all the poor reviews this store received but I love the bargains and good quality it has. This is my second review I'm writing for Burlington. There opening more in the states which is great. I'm glad to see it doing very well. An employee lady at the door said hello when I walked in and the same when I walked out and I purchased a few things there when I went. Every time I go I always purchase something because they always get wonderful items in. It's not as messy as TJ Maxx and Marshalls. They don't have much of a selection as Burlington and there more expensive. Burlington is 60% off other retailers every day! What's better than that! I've been a regular customer of Burlington for years. Before now, it was known as Burlington Coat Factory. My mom would take us there as children, to do some shopping. The selections were great back then, now, not so much...depending on where you go. I went there yesterday to return a red Calvin Klein dress that I bought a couple of days ago. I bought it for my husband's Christmas Party. The dress didn't fit me well at all. I wear dresses anywhere between a size 2-4. Depending on the cut, it can range from a 0-6. The dress that I bought was a size 4. When my sister saw it on me, she said it made me look older and my husband asked me if I lost weight, which for me isn't good, because I'm trying to gain weight lol. So needless to say, the dress had to go back, it was doing nothing for my figure. I was indeed a walking hanger. The thing was just hanging off of me. It was a form fitting dress, but it refused to hug anything on me. It was just all wrong for me. The location that I bought it at, didn't have a wide selection on the type of dress that I was looking for, so I decided to drive a bit further to another location to return the dress. This location had a much smaller selection, but the store was BIGGER! Lol, smh. I was very disappointed to say the least. I did find some cute socks for my girls though and my daughter got her first toy guitar, but my shopping experience was futile. While you're bound to find something that suits your fancy, my dress search was a complete fail. I've had success buying regular clothing though (Jean's, shirts, shoes, etc.), but no dresses. I ended up putting together an outfit, from my closet and wore that to my husband's work Christmas Party. It came together nicely. Wow, where do I start with this location? I was looking for some granny boots in my size that I couldn't find at my local BCF so visited this one thinking they might have my size. When I walked in it looked like any typical BCF until I actually arrived at the shoe department. It had to be around 12 noon in the afternoon and I was shocked with the messy, unorganized and chaotic shoe area. There were shoes all over the floor like a staff person hadn't cleaned the area in days. I quickly browsed and moved on to the home department. The home area was worst than the shoe area. The floors were filthy and there was merchandise all over. It kinda reminded me of a thrift store. I went to check out some of candies and picked up two bags of chocolates that I love and went to wait on the long line which I'm not complaining about because most stores have long lines, lol. While waiting I happened to look at the expiration dates on the bags and they both said, expires in June 2015. I put those bags down and ran out that store. Never again! When I got home I wrote an email to BCF corporate office informing them of the deplorable conditions I saw in the shoe and home dept. The extra yelp star is for the clothes and coat dept that looked fairly decent and maintained. read more

3 stars because if you actually are patient and have time then you could walk out here with some good things for less. However, this actual store is a huge mess. Overloaded and unorganized racks. LONG lines with tortoise-paced cashiers -- that's if they even put more like 4-5 cashiers at registers. If you have allergies then you might wanna pop a Claritin before entering, the amount of dust in here will have you with puffy eyes & sneezing your way through the aisles. There are hangers all over the floor constantly getting stuck under the carts. Clothes everywhere.. Just honestly a mess. I pray they get it together. They just need help. Help with the scheduling. Or maybe a bigger budget. Because they need way more employees. All in all, despite all the flaws, the discounts you can get on clothes and sometimes shoes is worth the hassle. Many people think Burlington Coat Factory and automatically assume they only sell coats. Those people would be wrong. Burlington has a ton of clothes, accessories, shoes, etc. to offer. This location is huge and has a section for everyone. I also like the major discounts you can get here. Most of the items they sell have been knocked down in price. The reason I had to deduct two stars is because 1) the store can become very messy and disorganized (especially later in the day) and 2) the dim lighting makes it look and feel depressing. I don't think I can fault the staff because I think they're probably short staffed to clean up after people, but it goes to show how difficult it is for some people to put something back from where they got it from. The worst retail experience around. While all departments are packed with merchandiser, only a few have anything even remotely current. The carpeting is stained and filthy looking. Only two registers open with cashiers so sure that they could almost be moving backwards. The manager was completely oblivious to the huge line building up. After 20 minutes and her passing by several times, I asked for another cashier. About five minutes later, over the PA, she asked a cashier to come to his register. Fifteen minutes later as I was exciting with my purchase, the guy still hadn't shown up and the manager was just wandering around. Had a friend who used to work there; worked retail elsewhere for over 30 years. He quit because it's such a sh#$ show. read more

I love good deals and Burlington has them. This is the Burlington Coat Factory I frequent the most. To me, all Burlington's are the same: Huge store, a whole bunch of items from clothing/shoes/accessories to household and beauty items, toys, luggage, and more!; Organized but still messy; Great deals but hit or miss; and long checkout lines. I'm always exhausted after shopping at Burlington. There's sooooo much to look through and I don't want to miss a thing! I like shopping at this location because I usually find exactly what I'm looking for; and/or cute, up to date, trendy clothing at very reasonable prices. The shoe and bag section is usually a little dry though. I very rarely get lucky in those departments. People grab the good stuff quickly! read more

This place is great!! Its in a complex so there's plenty of parking. Employees are pretty cool, but not that helpful. I think it because they always seem to be cleaning up a mess! This store gets crazy looking after a busy Saturday afternoon, but what can you expect, they get a lot of traffic. Not sure if some of them speak English. Restrooms pass the clean test and are always well stocked. Okay so the selection is fabulous, home stuff, men's, woman and baby clothing department, pets department and a baby depot upstairs....and a hole lotta nik naks in between like designer sunglasses, jewelry, and perfume. Lots of name brands. My fave dept you ask??? SHOES!! They have carlos Santana, bebe, Jessica simpson, jlo, coach, guess, and even Kenneth cole. I have found some really good "finds" in this shoe dept, some that I will never forget! My second fave department is pets! I have found some really cute stuff for my doggie baby Gia here, at lower prices then walmart! They have a nice selection of designer shades and hand bags also. Pretty cool jewelry department, expect its kind of small, be still has some good stuff. Price is absolutely reasonable. Every now and then they give you a 20% off coupon at check out.....which is a lovely surprise! Visited on Aug 5, 2021...I should have stayed home. The remodel made the store smaller and the separate departments are a joke. The store is a mess. What lil avail was all over the place. A couple of racks for each dept. Most of them were empty. No really nice clothes like they used to have. Small shoe dept...The home decor section is small, untidy and an overall joke. I cannot get over how scaled down the depts are. It used to be a destination shopping place for me....not anymore...I seriously doubt if I will return...seriously. With so much space, you would believe a store could work wonders setting up great floor visuals and a fun atmosphere, but this Burlington lacks the cohesiveness other large retail stores string up so well. The department signs are so small you have to walk up to them to read them when they should be directing you from far away. I absolutely love coming to Burlington to get good deals on designer fashionable clothing. They have a huge stock of clothes, shoes, bags- at low prices. Your getting the best deal here. It's like a huge warehouse and has an excellent selection of everything you need/want. Cons: It's unorganized and sometines difficult to find the size your looking for in a particular style. I worked at this Burlington for a few months. When I started I had to told management that Mondays and Wednesdays I can only work either 9 to 3 or 6 to closing because my husband has school those two days and I need to get my kids from the bus. Every other day during the week I can work anytime. I also told them my husband is in the Army and has drill one weekend a month and I would need those days off as well. They said no problem but since my first week they messed up my schedule every week. Then they act like you were wrong. Eugene is always too busy to help anyone. I told them one weekend my husband has drill and they said OK but were calling me Saturday to see why I was not at work. Umm, I told you he has drill this weekend. They were like ohh but are you coming in Monday? Well duh! The management are morons and can not get a simple schedule correct. I had to leave due to my husband deploying, they said I could stay and only work when I could but I'm sure they would have messed that up as well. Most of the cashiers they hire are also horrible. There is also a roach and rat problem in the employee's break room. I was on break and saw a rat come out from the vending machine. Never sat in there again. read more
