Now, this is what I call, a MEGA Macy's. It's huge with four floors (no joke) and a large variety of selections, which sums up why this Macy's stands out. With the size, I found myself walking around here for quite some time taking in what was there and what to offer. Many of the items I've found here are some of the ones I don't find in our local store back home, which can be a hassle for sure. The store was fully staffed, the most I've ever seen, making sense in the area it's located, in the busy Long Island, and the size of the store. Everyone seemed to be doing their job and being responsible to reach out when needed for assistance. I can imagine anyone being impressed by this. It looked organized for the most part, not finding this place to be a big mess. It's been open since 8/22/1956, even before the mall opened, and is still thriving. Make this your stop. read more

My very first credit card was an A&S (no longer in biz) then it merged into A&S/Macys. Decades ago I closed the Macys only account. The idiots they outsourced their credit card division to closed my account - in perfect standing. Once they wrongly closed it nothing could be done to correct it. I wasted a lot of time trying and realized they don't appreciate your biz at Macys. They had filed Chapter 11 and I am surprised they are still in business. I NEVER shopped at MACYS again. Their merchandise has gone downhill and there's quality merchandise to be found elsewhere. Once they offered great quality products and it was my go-to store. I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent cancellation of my order for the cologne I purchased for my husband. I ordered the cologne online because I could not find it in the store, and I was relieved to find out that I could order it and pick it up in the store. However, I was charged $149 for the cologne, and then received a cancellation email. When I called customer service, I was informed that I would not be refunded for seven days, and that I would have to pay another $149 if I wanted the cologne. I am currently not working and have very little money after paying bills and buying gifts for my children. I was able to purchase this cologne for my husband as a Christmas gift, and I am extremely disappointed that I will not be able to give it to him as planned. I don't tend to go to Macy's very often, but this one at Roosevelt Field I like. It's one of the bigger Macy's stores that has the selection of everything you would need. I took a point off because the bathrooms are seriously neglected! They need to have a custodian in there every 30 minutes like clockwork cleaning up those restrooms. Each and every time I've been there they've smelled, lack toilet paper, messes on the floor a disaster. There are usually sales people there on every floor to help you, it's not always completely abandoned and you don't have to look around for too long to actually find someone unlike places like Lord and Taylor where I don't think they even have sales people anymore. I also noticed there's always floor managers walking around and all the sales people are really really nice which unfortunately is a rarity these days. I know they're doing some new construction so they're making some cool and updated changes. If you have to go to Macy's or you want to good deal the Roosevelt field location is prime. read more

Today I visited their shoes department. Lots of fall and winter shoes are on the clearance rack. Some were on the floor, some were on fitting lounge. It is hard to find sizes as expected. Anyway, I settle for the regular priced one . I got gift cards to spend. And I could always use their sample for fitting and order what I liked on-line . Why deny the privilege of using the store as a means for try-on/ returns/pick-up? Roosevelt Field Macy's has a better selection of just about anything than any of the other Macy's. I shop Macy's. I go to all of the local stores and usually hit others I pass by when traveling. I have a Macy's credit card and that makes shopping in their stores very easy. I never have to save receipts because they go directly to my email. When checking out, a small tag is added to the tag on your purchase. That automatically syncs it to your card. When you make a return, they can scan the tag and credit your card immediately. You don't need to find your receipt or your card. And if by some chance they are unable to pull it up, you can find the receipt on your phone. Makes life so easy. And you can't beat Macy's sales. I am an aggressive presenting woman and I went there to look a suits on two different occasions and was never treated with respect. The first time was a couple of years ago when I walked in I started looking at suits, there were plenty of employees around but no one asked me if I needed help even though I was clearly looking through the suits so I asked someone for help. The man seemed hesitant to help me but he did but then said I needed to walk across the entire store to go to the woman's dressing room to try on the suit so I asked if there was someone that could at least go with me to help me with the fitting etc and was given a head shake "no". I have the suit back and walked out. I recently went back to give it a second chance and again no one offered to help at all so I took it upon myself to try on suits in the fitting room, I couldn't find my size but honestly being completely ignored turned me off anyway so I just put everything back and left. A new addition to Roosevelt Field Macy's store: Starbucks! Very cleverly situated at an upstairs entrance to the store. Great place for a pick me up snack between shopping. The servers were kind in helping me select my sugar-free flavored coffee. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious. The tables are kept very clean. She has an eye for getting the right fit and ordered it for us when the model she wanted wasn't in the store. My wife loves the coat in it fits her perfectly. A rainy Saturday was a Meh to okay trek for Macy's at Roosevelt Field Mall. Staff are incompetent and visibly disgruntled who function like callous robots. With my party of three, we seek to eventually find a few gems to our specifications. When checking out we purposing inquired if our selected items were on sale, "yes, oh yes" okay! Low and behold the cashier is asleep with no attention to detail span for having peripheral vision of the screen. With six items total and only two automatically rang sale and the balance rung regular price, ergo the cashier's was operating brain dead mode. The Macy's associate did not manually override the price for sale price item. Disgruntled as they visibly sighed loudly for teeth grinding when we were obtaining credit that is rightfully due. I just had to write this because I am so surprised and impressed. I recently went shopping for a cocktail dress to wear to a wedding. I found something I liked but it was slightly tight. I asked the sales girl to look if she had any in my size and she literally searched everywhere and couldn't find one. Then she offered to have one delivered to my house (for free) in my size. I advised her that my event was in 5 days and I couldn't risk the dress not arriving in time. She promised I would have it in 3 days. Well, it arrived today. In 2 days! Experience: This place is a solid three. I came here on a Tuesday night, so it was very dead. I came to return a fluffy cardigan that I got in Manhattan. The lady who did my return was very pleasant. The store was really hot though, even with my jacket off. I went to the cooking section and there were a lot of items on sale. The displays were all very nice. There were some french dutch oven items in various beautiful colors. I want them all! I ended up buying a few new baking trays and a pancake mix that I had on my Amazon wishlist. Might as well finish off the gift card from Macy's since the item is on sale here. The lady who checked me out was very unpleasant. As soon as I stepped on the line, she asked her coworker of the kitchen appliance section registers were closed because she didn't want to check me out. (The line was literally just me and one lady in front of me) She chatted up a storm with her coworkers and then had my friend who came after me throw his item into my bag because she didn't want to bother opening another bag. This was the best Macy's experience I've had out of the 4 I went to this past month. (Manhattan's Herald Square, Valley Stream, Roosevelt Field Mall, and Flushing Roosevelt Ave) The service in the basement floor of Roosevelt Field needs improving, but other than that, the store was very clean and had a TON of more choices than Flushing and Valley Stream and was less busy than Manhattan. We were looking for ideas to possibly upgrade or replace one garment and we happily left with a matching suit jacket and pants of great quality and fantastic fit that was exceptionally priced. 4/30/23 around 12 noon on a Sunday I visited this macys to purchase a singular item off the shelf. I proceeded to the men's checkout counter where there was about 3 people ahead of me but only one older gentleman checking out customers, yet 4 registers were there. No big deal, I will wait it will only be 3 people. Let me tell you, this gentleman had zero sense of urgency. It should not take 20+ minutes to check out 3 people. As soon as it became my turn to approach the register he motions to the woman behind him who was I believe exclusively ringing out just one customer. He asks her to hop on the register he was just using, so that he can go over to the register to the far right which wasn't turned on or booted and took several more minutes to load, all the while he is talking to close acquaintances, completely ignores the line that's been there 10 minutes already, and ignores the fact he could just use the register just behind him which the woman before him was just using, to help clear out the line. Instead he stands to the right register just watching it boot up. I then begin to lose my patience and calmly him if he can ring me up on the register that is already ready to go and he reluctantly agrees. Another woman who i assume is a manager comes over and he then ditches me yet again, and asks her to ring me up because he needs to watch the register that's loading still. ok. I literally just want to pay for this one item and go!!!!! Why is there no self checkout or express checkout?? On a Sunday the busiest shopping day you'd think they'd have more people to like, actually collect the money they're trying to make?? There were many other associates standing by or walking around managers too that could've helped clear the line but just kept walking. Took away half the registers, fired half the staff, I don't see Macy's sticking around much longer as a business when this is its current state. One of the best Macy's In NYC This Macy's has top notch customer service. They actually make you feel welcomed. They greet you with smiles all the time! EVERYTIME I come here at least 3 associates smile and greet me. Makes me feel good ! I usually don't shop for clothes here. I mostly come for housewares and the Cosmetic counters. The store is ALWAYS clean and organized. Everything is easy to find (for me) and if you need help, mostly every associate is ready to assist. The ladies in Mac, super helpful. I would hug them again if I could. They are so patient with you , and never hesistate to help or make sure your okay. Love it. Housewares - sometimes a staff member is nonexistant, but once you get to the register I bet you will have the best customer service ever haha. "The magic of Macy's" is the current slogan that is used and although I am unsure what that magic is exactly, I can tell you this- those poor Macy's sales schlubs were manned and ready at 7am when I ventured in there yesterday morning to do a little Christmas shopping on my way to work. I generally don't go here to shop since it usually packed with customers and you need dodge the store associates that wish to spray you whatever scent they are promoting that day, but I recently bought something online and made arrangements for in store pickup. Their in store pickup when buying online is excellent. I was directed to the lower level where you will see an "in store pickup" sign in the fine china dept. (This is where you pick up ALL orders regardless of the items you ordered). The process could not have been simpler - gave the printout from my email, the associate scanned the barcode then proceeded to retrieve my already bagged item from the back, I signed and done! If you've been to one, you've been to them all. Right? Pretty much. I will say they are a lot more helpful and respectful in engaging with customers than most other Macy's. However, you still have to trample through the racks for items that most customers incorrectly place on different racks. The selection of out of season shoes (boot sales) are better than most. Sorry to say but the best Macy's department stores that I've been to is in the state of Florida. It's like no one buys anything and the selection is extensive.
