I honestly loved this place for years. On feb 18th I got my winter tires put on and upon completing the service I was informed "the next time I come that I should plan on needing breaks"... they gave me a quote and in no way made it sound urgent.
4 days later including the weekend where I didn't drive my care) I drove to My job in Buffalo. All of sudden my car sounded like an airplane when I pressed the breaks. I pulled over scared for my safety and called the shop to ask what they thought it was. I was told to keep driving home so they could look at it "but don't go fast".
I expressed concern over this solution stating I thought it was my breaks and that I know if you let your breaks go too far it can cost double the price.... you know replacing the rotors..... he told me "no it doesn't cost more"... let me repeat that.... a mechanic told me there's no way for a break replacement to cost more.
Thankfully, I know a mechanic in buffalo who met me at his shop.... and can you guess what happened?
My breaks were COMPLETELY metal and I had to replace the rotors, costing double the price of a only new breaks.
This didn't happen in 4 days, this shop handed the car back to me, and sent me and my daughter our way in a unsafe vehicle. It would've been obvious at the time they changed my tires that the breaks were an urgent matter.
I called the shop back during my time at a Buffalo Mechanic and all of a sudden "they had no record of me being there"
I have the receipt, and it's sitting on my kitchen table now as I write this.
I understand you can't control your mechanics and sometimes bad ones get hired, but I have not been offered any solution to make this right.
