Parking was easy with the lot out front. The receptionist was kind and took me in early. The hygienist that worked with me could tell that I was really nervous and explained everything she was doing. She was super helpful! Wish I could remember her name (she was from Maldova). Then came Dr. Nam whom was a really cool dentist to talk to! Very kind and helpful! They also recommended a night guard since I clinch my teeth sometimes when I'm sleeping. Overall, this was my best dentist experience I've had! I made another appt immediately which is something I've never done!

Naya was the dental hygienist and helped to answer any questions I had and also made my experience a positive one. I had gone on a Friday and Dr. Thai made sure that if I had any issues I would be able to contact him over the weekend which I really appreciated. The customer service was great and if I am ever back in town and need a dentist I know where to go! Highly recommend! For me, this is why I absolutely am very fond of Dr. Dave as my dentist: 1. There's no rush job. I think Dr. Dave is one of the few dentists these days that doesn't buy into the volume business, in-and-out in 15 minutes job. It's nice to know there are dentists that still take the time to understand and explain your dental situation. 2. Less about the office, more about the quality exam/treatment. Dr. Dave's dental office is in a building that more so resembles a community college from the late 80s/early 90s BUT he has the best possible apparatus to make your exam/procedure go very well such as instant dental images, no metal contraption to hold your mouth uncomfortable open and absolutely, positively, no pain when getting numbing medication before getting a filling replaced/tooth worked on. While I've gone to some dental offices where they have a big fancy tv in the waiting room, bottled water, and a hot towel, none really compare to just having a skilled dentist that does care. 3. Bends over backwards a bit. If you're in super dire need, I know Dr. Dave will try to make some arrangement, even when he's supposed to be closed to get patients in. 4. Dr. Dave will refer you out if need be. I needed four wisdom teeth removed per Dr. Dave's recommendation and recommended an oral surgeon to see, even explained the risks and my situation better than the oral surgeon he recommended I see. Although Dr. Dave does admit he can do wisdom teeth, my case was a tough one to which he said I'd be better off seeing someone who was more experienced in this. I appreciate his honesty. 5. Big parking lot and not on a super busy street. Compared to some other places, Dr. Dave's office is in a big parking lot that offers plentiful and free parking that isn't on a busy street so getting there should be easy. So...why wouldn't you see Dr. Dave? 1. You don't like dentists over the age of 40. 2. You will only go to fancy dental offices. 3. You just can't make the drive to Burien. 4. You already have a dentist you're fine with. 5. You don't want to see a dentist. 6. You work on your own teeth. 7. You don't like people named David. That said, if you need a dentist and live or are willing to drive to Burien, I'd go see Dr. Dave.

He concluded that my bite was not right and suggested a new mouth guard to be made without even looking at the TMJ mouth guard I have. I then visited my TMJ dentist to check the bite. It turned out that the bite was not the cause.. The pain and the absess was caused by a crack and infection, determined by a CT scan and an endodontist. I was very disapointed as Dr Hong was recommended to me by a dear friend after a long search for a good dentist.

Let me quickly preface this review with: I couldn't be happier with my result. My smile is BEAUTIFUL! Being an adult with ridiculously high expectations, I was very thorough in my research and wanted to find the appropriate orthodontist when I finally decided that I was serious about getting braces. I had some experience in this, because this wasn't my first time in braces; I had them when I was a teenager, but didn't listen to anybody back then, and I refused to wear my retainers (& subsequently lost them). Over the next twenty years my teeth shifted and I was left with a narrow bite, crowded teeth, a few teeth that stuck out, a crossbite, and a smile that kept me from feeling attractive or confident. What a waste of teenage ridicule and miserable nights without sleep because of frumpy headgear (not to mention the expense, thanks Mom & Dad for footing the bill back then!). I tossed around the idea of "adult braces" for half a decade. Had I known now what I knew then, I wouldn't have wasted those precious years (word to the wise: if you're contemplating treatment, do yourself a favor and stop delaying - get started TODAY; the only regret you'll have is not starting sooner! As I tell my friends today: if you listened to me a few months ago, you could be halfway through treatment already!!). This office is exactly what I was looking for. The first contact you'll have is with Erin, who oversees the office and ensures it runs smoothly/efficiently. The combination of Erin and Dr. Peralta were what made my decision an easy one - - it's rare to find an office where you not only respect the doctor (Dr. Peralta, the orthodontist), but also the one who runs the show (Erin). Erin spent a ridiculous amount of time answering my questions and making me feel comfortable. This office is very thorough in explaining EVERYthing and made me feel at ease, without feeling pressured into a decision whatsoever. My concerns were: 1) duration of treatment (how long would I be a brace-face), 2) effectiveness of treatment (was my narrow/rickety smile fixable??), 3) long-term expectations/result, 4) cost of treatment, 5) pain associated with treatment, 6) every other concern you hadn't even considered being a concern (did I mention my ridiculous expectations? I wasn't kidding). Dr. Peralta studied my smile and then laid out a treatment plan which was aggressive (like me) and would have me out of braces by my 36th birthday (a mere 13 months from the day I started treatment. A year and a month is all????? Um .... SOLD!) From there I viewed an entire catalogue of Dr. Peralta's prior cases (literally hundreds of smiles that he single-handedly made perfectly straight) which built my confidence in this Columbia Graduate's abilities. Erin then presented a financial plan that worked with my budget and allowed for treatment to become a reality. Communication is key - and Orthodontics of Burien clearly communicates every step of the way. I live/work in Seattle and was amazed at how easy the commute to/from Burien for my monthly appointments was. In fact, I actually looked forward to going in for my check-ups/adjustments because of the friendly staff. Who knew ortho could be enjoyable?! The office is clean, bright, modern, spacious, and comfortable, not to mention their great taste in music which helps to further ease any stress associated with dental work. What an incredible experience the last 13 months were. I'm now 36, brace-free and I have a smile that I'm PROUD to show. I feel more confident, I feel more attractive, and my tongue actually fits in my mouth now! Getting braces was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
