To all potential customers, I strongly suggest reading this and other lower reviews first about the common themes of dishonest, deceptive, and questionable business practices. I wish I would have read them before coming here. Pros: The spa is clean and nicely decorated. I was offered complimentary add-ons such as microcurrent, some red light therapy, and 10 units of Botox (but their Botox pricing is on the higher end at $13 per unit). I was also gifted a collagen serum and face wash that, while inexpensive, was a nice gesture. Cons: Unfortunately, the business operations appeared disorganized and unprofessional. Payment via cash or Zelle was encouraged, with a 6% fee for credit card use. I was never able to reach anyone by phone, and all booking and communication occurred via text message. The address listed on Groupon also differed from the actual spa location. Five days after my appointment, I received an invoice with a payment button indicating an amount due. When I contacted the business, I was told it was only a receipt, which I found misleading and concerning. I originally booked an appointment for HIFU because it is marketed as non-invasive. During the visit, I was encouraged to add Botox to my jawline and neck for faster and more dramatic results. The HIFU (they do not offer Ultherapy) portion of the appointment lasted approximately 10 minutes and felt rushed compared to my expectations. After the appointment, despite following post-care instructions which consisted of blurry screenshots, I began experiencing significa neck weakness, difficulty lifting my head from a lying position, and trouble swallowing food and saliva. These potential side effects were not clearly discussed with me beforehand. I sought medical advice from my primary care provider, who advised contacting the MD of the practice, visiting the ER, and seeking legal counsel, as these are rare and serious side effects. I attempted multiple times to speak with someone by phone regarding my concerns, but communication continued only via text message. The only advice given was to use a straw and that the symptoms are normal and temporary. The injector's demeanor and appearance felt very casual, which did not inspire confidence coming from a med spa . She mentioned that the business was understaffed and that she manages many responsibilities herself. When I asked to see before-and-after photos for certain procedures, I was told to just look to their Instagram account which was a representation of the business: again, disorganized and unprofessional. 1 Star - Thirst Trap Hidden Agendas I had a recent very disappointing experience with Burhani Laser Med Spa and would not recommend them. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment after being explicitly told I could receive the same price advertised on Groupon while using my CareCredit account. I was also required to pay a $35 deposit upfront to secure the appointment. When I arrived, I was immediately discouraged from purchasing the service package I originally called about and was instead upsold on other services. Once it was time to pay using CareCredit--as previously discussed--I was then told there would be an additional transaction fee that they "had no control over." I was pressured to use debit card or Zelle instead to avoid the fee, which was never disclosed during scheduling. Because of this unexpected fee and change in terms, I chose not to proceed. I received zero services, yet the business refused to refund my deposit. This experience felt like bait-and-switch advertising, aggressive upselling, and passing hidden transaction fees onto customers after the fact. Had PDO string lift. She did not pull the strings. No bruising and no redness and zero lift. At first I wrote a good review. But once swelling went down I had zero lift. Have had this done 8 different times over the years. ## I doubt I need to comment any further about this poor experience. She lied to Groupon so I cannot get my money back. I purchased Groupon to try microneedling. Spoke to Umi to make the appt. After I informed her I am new to this and would like more info on the process, she didn't provide much info and kept pushing upgrades, to look at their site and to check out Francine queen of threads, and confirmed it will improve my skin reducing appearance of pores with upgrades. After agreeing on a time for July 23, she texted back and changed it for 22nd@ 12:30. I showed up on time and again I inquired what to expect from this process and what it entails. She did not provide a full detail of what the process, she asked if I looked at their site and looked at Francine site. I was expecting her to proactively provide a full on explanation of what the process will be like during the treatment and what to expect after including down-time/recovery time but I never received this so I felt very insecure already. I had to keep inquirying to get answers. She straight up asked me what my budget was, I wasn't expecting to spend more than what I purchased. She was upselling the spicule peel and for me to upgrade the microneedling procedure. She asked to see my email for the Groupon purchase so she can apply the amount I paid to the upgraded procedure. On the phone, she told me $499 but now she's telling me $599. I don't understand why she would apply the amount I paid versus what the treatment is actually worth to the upgrade. It didn't make any sense to me. I could not trust her with discrepancy on the $, by upselling me and not providing me with enough information on the treatment. When I asked if there was any side effects, her response was "why are you so negative?" I've been scammed before and I would like full info so I didn't think I was being negative. I've kept asking for detail info on the procedures and received very vague answers. At one point, she showed me a after picture of a woman's neck but no before picture. I feel the primary focus is only trying to get me to upgrade for other procedures and for me to pay more but not focusing on providing me with information on the treatments. I settled on not upgrading and to do the treatment I purchased. She finally informed me the downtime includes me not going out in the sun for 2 days which I'm unable to because I have to walk my dog as there's no one else. She's okay with rescheduling but will need to redeem Groupon now or I'd have to pay $29 consultation fee without treatment. If she had given full information on what to expect for the procedure, we wouldn't have to reschedule or a need for a consult. And nowhere on their site or on the Groupon indicates a fee without treatment. I walked away without paying and feeling very insecure on the whole meeting with her and decided I want to return my Groupon. Well, it hadn't even been an hour and she had already redeemed my voucher! I provided the correspondence texts from Umi to Groupon as proof she didn't provide service. Groupon support said she's redeemed it and there's nothing we can do which was very disappointing. Umi claimed it was a whole misunderstanding and she's working with Groupon to get my credit but since I purchased it over 2 weeks ago and requested refund it's more difficult. This is all a lie!! First, I bought the Groupon less than 2 weeks ago and I've been corresponding with Groupon every day so obviously they are aware of my dispute and not any correspondence from her. I am just expecting credit back. I disputed this charge with my credit card company and received my money back. So, after spending lots of money over several months I had a very bad experience. I had an event to go to and wanted to reschedule because I would not be able to wear makeup after the treatment. I was told it would be okay to wear makeup the next day, which contradicts everything I was told before. I left with claw-like marks on my cheek that lasted for days. No makeup would cover it. There are a lot of hidden fees, the pricing isn't standard, and the spa doesn't take credit cards without charging you a 3% fee for using a card. They only use cashapp or Zelle. That was not told to me up front. I was also told to not use my Groupon as they take 40% of their profit. I didn't but in the end I still got overcharged by a lot. The pricing is nowhere on the brochure. The brochure wasn't given to me until after I paid while I was walking out the door. I was charged $30 per thread but then when I said I couldn't afford anymore it was changed to $5 per thread after just charging me $30 per thread. That is extremely deceptive. I was told growth factors provided was $25. I was charged $50. The actual facial took less than 20 minutes for $598. We specifically talked about using a credit card it was never mentioned the 3% charge until it was time to pay, after my services. I am not happy with the services provided. The facial provided was not what was explained to me whatsoever. The threads didn't change anything. Businesses do not typically only take cashapp or zelle and if they do, it's said upfront. I don't have either of those options to pay and would not have come if I was told that. The therapist had just taken THC and was hungover. I should have walked out then. I trusted this business with my face. I was given samples in opened medicine cups from a drawer (pictured). Nothing was clean. I explained several times I had used tretnoin before but like other things I mentioned, I wasn't listened to. The entire visit was extremely unprofessional. I had purchased a Groupon for a European facial massage. I called several times to book an appointment and end up playing phone tag with Umi, the owner. They had an email address listed on the Groupon but I was not able to actually confirm the appointment via email. Not sure why. In response to the comment below, I was neither rude or unresponsive but tried several times to make an appointment. Umi did let me know that she was running the business out of her house since the Sugarland office was currently under construction. When I arrived I wasn't sure if I should just ring the house doorbell or wait or call so I texted Umi and called but there was no response so I decide to just ring the bell. A man answered and asked me to see if his wife's car was out in the driveway, it was. He then told me to wait and went to check on his wife (who I'm assuming was Umi). Umi came down stating she had been sleeping (apparently she forget she had an appointment, as I was right on time). I almost got the feeling I was not welcome. I was not early for my appointment but right on time. I was not offered any water or even asked if I wanted to use the restroom. I told her she can continue her nap and I can wait, since she looked exhausted. The whole process of paperwork, facial and reviewing paperwork was odd and anything but relaxing. There is relaxing music playing in the sitting room she is using as the treatment room. There was ZERO massage involved even though it was called a 'European facial massage.' No where does it say 'basic facial' as the comment below states. She put a steamer on my face, a scrub, cleansing toner and moisturizer. Very standard and nothing special. I never complained about wrinkles as the comment below states (ummm I'm under 35, why would I complain about wrinkles...?). I purchased a Groupon like the others that posted reviews. I did go to the appt at Umi's home. She has an inviting room that was very comfortable and set up like a regular office. She began asking me a few questions and proceeded with the facial. I had never had a facial before so she walked me through the steps before she did anything. I had a great experience and will definitely go back! She gave me a facial scrub and moisturizer to use in the next few weeks too that I absolutely loved. Customer BEWARE!!! According to their "new policy in 2019," they charged $35 for numbing gel for microneedling! If you don't have money to pay for numbing gel, that's all you get. I purchased the deal through groupon for 2 sessions of microneedling. The first session went fine, with no charge of numbing gel in November. The Lady Umi said then i can schedule another session 1.5 month apart which i should have enough healing time for my face. Then when i showed up for 2nd session which is 1.5months later, she said oh your face looks much better from last time, without any pictures to compare to, or she must have incredible memory! But after finding out that is my 2nd session from groupon, she said my face needs more healing time, instead recommend nano-needling or microdermabrasion which i did not agree too. She said fine then recommended a bunch of nutrient mask/lift, among of which i only choose to go with the perfection serum) for $25. Then right before I lie on the bed, she said, "oh i forgot to mention there's $35 charge for numbing gel. This is 2019 policy." (And shows innocent face). I said fine, i'll pay for the numbing gel. After the numbing gel was applied, she started the procedure after 5mins, i told her the forehead has not numbed yet, and she was like, "oh it takes 2 hours for the forehead to numb," and keep working. It's like she was dealing with a kid. The topical anesthesia would have gone out of effect maximum 40mins. She had no idea i'm a doctor and i know how it works. I was nice enough not to confront for all the unethical unprofessional services they offered, but I want everyone else to be aware of what they will be dealing with before the appointment! Going over all the bad reviews so far, it was from all groupon purchases, and definitely there was a difference how they treat customers based on the money they get! I purchased a Groupon for microdermabrasion and peel facial, I read the reviews on groupon which were outstanding, so I did not bother to read any more reviews on yelp. While I normally get a microdermabrasion every 2 months or so, this was my second time ever getting a peel. Umi was prompt in responding to my call and message and was accommodating to work around my schedule. She is very thorough, knowledgeable and takes her time in explaining the process and what to do in the days after the facial, she gave me free samples to use for my skin after the peel. My experience was worst. I purchased a Groupon, then tried to make an appointment by calling the bumber provided. It's not a business phone number but a personal cell number. After leaving numerous voice mails and texts, a very rude lady finally called and said that the cypress location was closed and now she works from home. I felt very uncomfortable going to someone's house to get the service done. However, I made an appointment. The night before the appointment I texted to confirm and got a really rude reply that Umi or someone was cancelling the appointment. She does not feel comfortable working on me and that I should get a refund on the Groupon. I am extremely disappointed and upset at this person but glad that I didn't go to her. I purchased a Groupon for the facial massage on 4/4/16 even though I read all the bad reviews. I figured maybe all the bad reviews were just isolated experiences but I was completely wrong. I called on 4/4 and got a voicemail (the message said I reached a google voice #. this was a big red flag). I did not leave a message on my first call since I was still giving them the benefit of the doubt and perhaps they were real busy. I called back on 4/5, got the voicemail again, and I did leave a message with my name, number, and reason for calling. Today, 4/6, I called again, got the voicemail and I did leave a message saying I wanted to schedule an appointment, have been attempting, and that if I did not get a call back in the next 24 hours I would cancel my Groupon. I also went to their facebook and posted a simple question, "Why is it so hard to get an appointment?"I left my desk to attend a work meeting and I come back to my desk to a voicemail from Umi stating that she had talked to me and told me she was busy with another client. Complete lie! She never spoke to me. Maybe she confused me with someone else? She also stated that I should cancel my Groupon because none of her technicians wanted to work on me. Then I checked my cell phone and noticed she sent a text as well saying the same thing as her voicemail. I did cancel my Groupon immediately and I also called her back to clarify the situation. Of course I got the voicemail and I simply stated that I cancelled the Groupon because the level of service they have given so far is very poor.
