Since my last visit years ago, I forgot about the religious, whimsical decor. The signage on the exterior provided ample warning. Several minutes after I was inside, the decor was easily ignored. I ordered the Chorizo & Eggs and opted for corn tortillas. Since I would eat the tortillas by themselves, corn was preferably to flour. The scrambled eggs dish, sliced potatoes and the four medium tortillas was ample for breakfast. I was able to finish everything without being too stuffed. The salsa provided additional flavor without being spicy. Although I did not mind, the amount of diced cheese may be overwhelming. The coffee was amazing. I finished my first cup before the waitress had a chance to take my order. By the time my meal was served, I needed a second refill. Although I would have declined, I was not offered a refill in a takeout cup.

The place was pretty busy with other seniors and they all were happily enjoying the 50's flair. Yelper husband had a beautiful club sandwich with a side of onion rings. It was very tasty and filling I'm pretty finicky about clean and well kept. I gave a "just ok" on that part of this review. Service was prompt and pithy. On to our lunch, we each got one of the tuesday specials, I got chicken fried chicken and hubby got fried chicken. Both were good, but a few of the sides really shined, namely the cabbage!! - it had little bits of pork in it too. and the fried okra, lordy - YUM! Highly recommend this place, service was great too.

The red sauce (gojichang I think?) was yummy, similar to sriracha if I had to compare. We mixed the sauce with ketchup to dip our fries in and it was bomb! Restaraunt was clean and well stocked. May be five if all the vehicles were parked inches apart. Many vehicles parked behind the restaurant on gravel and grass. I chose the BBQ Pork Ribs Plate which came with four ribs. Once I got my meat, everything else was self-service. For sides, I chose the smoked beans and potato salad. Before leaving the area, I made sure to grab a dinner roll. The Point of Sale requesting a tip annoyed me due to the amount of self-service. The ribs were okay. There was not as much meat as I would have liked. Of the two sides, the smoked beans were my favorite. Its sauce provided plenty of flavor. The potato salad had a distinct dill aftertaste. The interior of the dinner roll was slightly warm, so it may have sat on the serving tray for a while. As with other barbecue spots, they offered free soft serve (vanilla). Frugal diners should forego the non-complimentary desserts. Unfortunately, the ice cream was softer than my preference. It's consistency similar to a very thick milkshake.
