This review is honestly less about McDonald's itself and more about what I got, because listen…read more.. the Grinch Meal?! So cute.
McDonald's partnered with The Grinch this holiday season, and I had to try it. I was genuinely excited. You get the option of nuggets or a Big Mac, fries, and the fun part--your fries come with this dill pickle shaker. And let me tell you, that shaker was EVERYTHING. It gave the fries this really good, almost parmesan-style flavor, and I loved it way more than I expected.
The nuggets were crispy and good, no complaints there. The box itself was festive and fun, and the Happy Meal "toy" was Grinch socks, which honestly felt like a little adult Happy Meal moment--and I was here for it. The socks were a cute bonus, but overall the meal itself was just fun and festive. It felt like a holiday moment.
Now, about this McDonald's location in general--I come here all the time with my son after school (what kid doesn't love McDonald's?). The atmosphere is pretty chill. The music is always bumping--lots of reggaeton since you're right near Spanish Harlem--which honestly adds to the vibe.
That said, it could be cleaner, and there isn't a lot of seating. Tables fill up fast, so you're either sharing space or waiting for someone to leave. Usually, it works out because it's very much a neighborhood spot--you see families, friends, middle school kids, all of that.
Service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's a little slow, sometimes it's on point. But if you're a regular and they recognize you, things definitely move faster.
Overall, the Grinch Meal was a win--cute, fun, and tasty. It gave me exactly what I wanted: a little holiday joy, good fries, crispy nuggets, and some Grinch socks to take home.
