After a long day digging for fossils and hiking (mostly skipping lunch and only eating snacks), we were famished driving into Prineville. We ended up just stopping at the first interesting looking place on the road into town going west, Wild Ride Brewing. Burger Love is one of four food carts parked outside this brewery, and considering we were just listening to a podcast about burgers, I couldn't resist getting one here. I'm not sure if they're normally very slow or if it was just especially busy that night, but the burger took over 25 minutes to come out. At First Sight, Single ($16) - This includes a decent size 6oz patty, cooked all the way though, with the center only being the very slightest bit cooked over pink, remaining tender. The burger is otherwise still very moist, no dryness to be found inside. This means that there isn't any particular char though. The patty is settled on a buttered and toasted bun with plenty of veggies on the bottom, including pickles, tomato, lettuce, and red onion. There's a great balance between the different textures and each bite has plenty of moisture so nothing gets dried out. And of course on top of the patty, there's gooey American cheese that glues on some bacon to give a salty and meaty punch. The burger as a whole is not messy to eat at all due to stellar construction; nothing falls out while biting through. (4/5) The fries, which come with the meal, are fried well done, which makes them extra crispy. The fry interior isn't that fluffy due to the hard fry, but it's pretty good in texture overall. They aren't very generous with the amount of fries the meal comes with. Burger Love also provides a fry sauce which seems to be a commercial mayochup mixture. Nothing special. (4/5) Is Prineville just an expensive place to live? $16 is kind of on the expensive side especially for a place that I assume would be lower cost of living vs. Seattle. There's not really anything technically wrong with the burger, so other than the price and wait time, this food cart isn't a bad visit. The food is certainly better than the current 2/5 rating on Yelp indicates. read more

Came in sunday and was told immediately there would be a 30 min wait. Gladly said thats ok as my party was planning on on being at wild ride for awhile. Waited 30 mins and got the wrong burger. Went up and told them it was wrong and they said it get fixed. Waited another 30 mins and was given a wrong burger again. So fed up we just left but based on not being able to just get a burger with only cheese correct is kinda crazy. Not recommending this place even if its the only option. I asked for ketchup mutiple times and was given random condiments each time. read more

The service was lacking. The wait time was over 40 minutes but the burger would've been good if it was what we ordered. We ordered Love at first sight 2 burgers one no cheese. They both had cheese and neither one had bacon. Sucks that we waited so long and then I couldn't eat it. read more

Wild Ride is a great brewery in Prineville with good people and outside and inside seating. Burger Love is one of four food trucks at this location. I ordered the First Date (cheeseburger and tater tot's) for dinner. A small amount of cold tater tots was included with my meal. Far less than previously had at this location. Service was mediocre though I provided a 20% tip prior to receiving my meal. The beeper went off at 18 minutes after my order. Napkins were included along with a box that made it look like there was more inside than there was. All the food was cold. When this place opened it was epic. I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I used to be a regular but the one gal summer can't cook a burger, last few burgers I got were under cooked and she has a terrible attitude

The food was definitely subpar - one burger was undercooked and the other lukewarm. We also found a hair in one of the burgers between the bun and the condiments. Not to mention the service was horrendous. The woman we ordered from was very rude. I said thank you twice before she even acknowledged me and my sister said thank you only to receive an eye-roll and a slamming of the order window. I'm not sure if the woman was having an off day or what but it was enough to make it so we will not be giving our service to this food cart again. If we could have taken back our tips we would have. Best burger in central Oregon! Great flavors and always kind people. We drive 30 minutes to have these burgers.
