Carol is the gal in the BK CAFE tee. Needs to learn basic counter protocol.
    Kimberly-Gretchen B.

How not to win friends and influence people. Two days ago I stopped in. Ordered 2 Whopper Junior w/cheese + small fries. $7.07 I extracted bills from my purse. I laid 5+1+1 on the counter close to me. As I was digging out 7¢, the gal reached clear across the counter to grab the bills. (Excuse me?) I gave her an additional 7¢. Can I get a name for this order? Kimberly A few minutes later, someone comes out from the kitchen asking, Kim? Apparently she took it on her own to change my name to Kim. Two things wrong here: 1. She snatched the bills before I was ready to give them to her. 2. Taking liberties with my name. Is typing Kimberly actually that much more difficult than typing Kim? This is the closest BK to my house, so I'm sure to return. But if the same gal (Carol) is the only one taking orders, I'll walk out.

The fries were so nasty, no where near golden. Just brown, over salted and over cooked

Nate and I were on a quick layover in need of food, so we stopped by this spot and ordered on the kiosk. I got an order of chicken tenders, a drink, and fries to share, and Nate got a cheeseburger. Our food was hot and fresh when they yelled our name, and we grabbed some drink cups that were sitting on the counter. Were we supposed to do that? Who knows. There were no employees anywhere in the area so we couldn't ask. The burger was good. The chicken tenders were just okay. They were tender but pretty greasy. It was a good potion and we could have split just one of the items. The fries were tasty and seasoned pretty well, and the Diet Pepsi was crisp. The tables and walls were in need of a wipe down, but it did the trick for a quick meal before we got on our flight. There are limited food options in this wing. I don't know that I'd come running back, but it was okay.

I got the chicken tenders and was surprised by how many came with the order--great portion size. The fries were a highlight with really good seasoning. My coworker got a burger and said it was pretty decent, and they also really enjoyed the fries. You order at the counter, so the service is quick and efficient, which is perfect when you're traveling. Overall, a good option for airport food. There isn't that many restaurants in this terminal at the Richmond airport but between the 3 options this is the easiest one to get to go on the move.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!

The food won't necessarily blow your socks off-- however it is consistently good, a lot of vegan/gluten free/etc options, lots of cocktail and beer options, and even the pickiest of eaters could find something they enjoy there. Our waiter this last time was outstanding. I noticed on their menu they also have specials including Thursdays where they do a hot chicken sandwich and beer for a cheaper price. They also have a solid happy hour.

So freaking good. Bacon was chopped up, first time I've had it like that on a burger and honestly it's genius. You get bacon with every bite and dont have to worry about pulling a piece completely off your burger when you take a bite. Spicy chicken was super tasty, had a really good favor. But, while you could taste spice, it was definitely on the mild side. Onion rings were crispy. The gals at the counter were super sweet too. Great on the go dinner spot for us on our roadtrip. Recommend!!

So I thought maybe there was a solution. But sometimes it's just not meant to be. My fat friend Sam, as well the maintenance man where I work, had highly recommended Slay Burgers. The maintenance man, Tito, had much more enthusiasm about the establishment. With that being said, he isn't nearly as fat as my fat friend Sam so I was a little skeptical. Once I arrived, I was eager for a beer. If only my fat friend Sam would have warned me this is not the spot to go to right after the DMV. It's not a sit down spot, but my fat friend Sam recently stopped drinking. I often forget that. so now, I decide to shake things up a little, and get two bacon and two doubles cheeseburgers. This way I can try the bacon first and if I like it, I claim it. If I don't, we all split. So naturally, I start eating in the car. As I bite into the bacon cheeseburger, I try to convince myself I like it. But three bites in, I know we're all splitting this lunch. I lie to the family and tell my Dad the Bacon Burger is good. "Let's all split." He plays along with it knowing the bacon cheeseburger is unfortunately, a bad burger. The smash burger, I enjoyed. I will be going back to Slay Burgers. This one is on my Fat friend Sam. Unfortunately, he did not preface me on the ambiance. I look forward to knowing there is a shot clock when I arrive at the window.

We were looking for a place nearby that could accommodate our group of about 35 people, including a team of energetic 9-year-old baseball players, where everyone could cool off, relax, and enjoy lunch. We found Trevor's Grill & Tavern online and weren't quite sure what to expect. We called about 15 minutes ahead to let them know a large group was on the way, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They seated us on the enclosed patio, which was absolutely perfect for our group. The boys were loud, excited, and full of energy, and every member of the staff was incredibly patient, friendly, and helpful. They took everyone's orders quickly, the food came out surprisingly fast, and everything we ordered was delicious. Excellent service, great food, and a welcoming staff made what could have been a hectic lunch with a large youth sports team a fantastic experience. People were up dancing and having a genuinely good time, which made the whole experience even better. My friend ordered the wings and loved them. I had the cod, and it was absolutely delicious. The batter wasn't too heavy and stayed nice and crispy. The cod itself was thick and tasted fresh, like real fish. The fries were A1. My only callout with my dish was the tartar sauce. It had more of a sweet, Miracle Whip-type taste that was a little off-putting for me. It may not be that way for you. My next callout would be the timeframe in which our server got to us. I will say that there had seemed to be some confusion about assigned sections but once he got there, he was a rockstar. Suggestion: switch the lettuce that's underneath the fish with cabbage. It's holds up much better and helps with presentation as well. Their tea and lemonade mix was so good I ended up getting two cups and even took one to go. I will add that I once ordered the firecracker shrimp through DoorDash, and while I could tell it's probably great in the restaurant, it didn't travel well as takeout. Overall, I will definitely visit again.

Yesterday I needed victuals after leaving the nearby Dollar Tree, so I swung around 5G. They looked dead. Then I saw the lit neon sign, and parked my car. A young lady unlocked the front door, stuck her head out and told me they were taking online orders only. I said, "Can I just tell you what I want?" She replied, "Sure, just give me a minute." She went back inside, got a notepad and came back to about six feet from my window. I gave her my order; she returned inside. While I waited, a few other cars pulled up and she delivered the orders to their cars. I waited perhaps a total of 10 minutes, and the same gal -- Alexis, according to my receipt -- brought my order out to me. It was a touch-free transaction. I brought my dinner back to the Hyatt and enjoyed every bite of the burger & fries. Alexis is my hero for the day!
