This is for the Burger King on San Miguel Canyon. June 12, 2026, between 4:30-5:00 pm First, the food was fine. My complaint is about the service: The conversation at the drive through went something like this: -----Can I take your order? "Yes please, I would like a Whopper Jr with cheese" -----Anything else? "Yes please, a small... no, wait..." -----Small fries "No, not fries. A value coke, no ice" -----Anything else? "No, thank you, that's all" ----That will be 10.84 (can't be sure of the exact number because she refused to give me my receipt) At the window -----That's 10.84. "Would you please read my order back to me?" -----No, you tell me what your order is (That's not usually how it's done, but ok) "A Whopper Jr with cheese" -----Yes. "And a value coke, no ice" -----Yes, that's 10.84 "That seems like too much." -----That's what it is Then there was this back and forth, something like -----You rule "But it's too much," several times (not angry, just confused. I make the same order every time and I know it isn't almost $11, but since she had me repeat my order at the window... I was really confused) I handed her my card She gave me my drink and my card I asked for my receipt There were fries on the receipt. (Note: the following isn't exactly what was said, but I wasn't recording it, so it went something like the this:) "Wait, I didn't order fries" -----Yes you did "No. I started to order a small drink, and you said 'small fries,' and I said 'no fries, a value coke with no ice.' -----No, you ordered fries "No, I didn't" -----They come with the meal. "What meal? I didn't order the meal." -----Yes you did. "No, just the Whopper Jr and value coke. And wait, what's this? Why is there a cone on my order? I didn't get a cone" -----You ordered the kid's value meal, but I took off the cone "I didn't order a Meal. Value Coke, not Value Meal" (Maybe she thought I ordered the Cheeseburger Jr. Meal, but can't she tell the difference between that and a Whopper Jr w/Cheese?) Somewhere in all that she told me several times "You rule," which I know is their slogan, but it made no sense in the context of her repeatedly telling me I was just wrong. It was almost like she was trying to get rid of me, but I really have no idea, so I overlooked that. That went on for awhile and she finally refunded me 3.00 cash (for the fries), which brought what I paid down to around 7.80, which was still $1 more than my meal should have cost, but at that point I gave up. Then I asked for my receipt. (This is a very shortened summary of a repetitive back-and-forth discussion) She told me she couldn't give me my receipt I told her I needed it for my statement She told me I would still get my statement I know that, but I told her I needed the receipt to check it against my statement. And she went back to the beginning and told me she couldn't give me my receipt We went around and around about that again. I don't know what she was worried about, but there was no way she was going to give me that receipt I asked to speak with the manager, but she told me that she was the manager. There were now two cars behind me, so I just left. No sense making them wait any longer. How could this have been resolved better? When I told her she got my order wrong, the easiest thing for a manager to do would have been to just void the order and redo it. Or I should have asked for a duplicate receipt, which a manager would know how to do. In fact, I'm surprised now that she didn't just offer that. I know they do it because about 25% of the time they have already printed and tossed my receipt, and when I ask for it, they just print a duplicate. But I did forget to ask that. Now, for a possible explanation (and one that would have easily allowed her to save face): their intercom system doesn't work very well. Maybe it cut out when I said "no, no fries," and if she repeated the order back to me, maybe it cut out while she was doing that so I didn't hear that the order was wrong. Also, either most of the time the display either isn't working at that Burger King (San Miguel Cyn), or they aren't bothering to use it, because if my order had come up on the screen, we could have corrected it then. She was clearly annoyed that I was arguing about the order. Maybe she thought I was calling her a liar, which I was not. But she certainly didn't didn't seem willing to straighten it out. So easy. Just blame it on the intercom, void and redo the order. She saves face and the customer is happy, going away thinking how easily the manager had handled the whole thing. No, I'm not all worked up about a $1 difference. I was frustrated that I wasn't listened to and that she felt that she had to dig in her heels and stand her ground about how wrong the customer was. Bad service. Unfriendly staff with poor attitude. They act like you're interrupting their day if you order food. Friends of the employees cut in line. Some of the employees don't want to return change. Coffee on the menu but they refuse to make it when ordered. The service has gone down for over five years. read more

They rarely open on time in the morning, so don't drive out of your way to work. If you pay the dollar to add cheese to your whopper, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it. What ruined my experience was that when employee Yaneth took my order she walked off to pack some orders for the people that were waiting for their food and never completed the transaction so I could pay. A couple of minutes passed before a drive thru employee cane and charged me. From the moment Yaneth left to the moment I received my food she did not take any more orders and the other people that were waiting did not seem very happy either. Just awful. The manager could careless about quality of the food, accuracy of their delivery and customer service. I ordered the 2 for $5 breakfast and asked for them to be on a biscuit. I received one old biscuit sandwich, which had clearly been sitting under the heat lamps all morning and one on a croissant, which was actually fresh. When I went back the manager was now at the window and said yes you got one and one did you want two? Uh, duh! Don't play me lady. Clearly you were too lazy to make the biscuit. If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would. Each and every time I have come to this Burger King location, They are out of some thing. Whether it be burgers or chicken or now, apparently ice. If it wasn't bad enough that you couldn't have burgers at Burger King, but to add to that my order is wrong each and every time. It doesn't matter how many times I repeat myself or how much the staff repeat the order back to me the correct way it's always still wrong. The staff has a hard time following simple direction. My acquaintance and I arrived to the Burger King here in San Miguel, looking for some late night food, as we are extremely business affairs we were dealing with early. What a confusing mess. The lady at the counter was having a bad day and had to keep getting help for the cash register. First she said she had to get the food from the prior order and then stood there and stared at us...what do you want. Also they STILL do not have restrooms available to customers. One had an out of order sign...the other was locked. When asked for the key they said it is locked...duh..and they recommend the locked outhouse across the way. I waited in line to order for 15 minutes behind two other people; cash register guy kept disappearing for five minutes at a time with no explanation and no apology. He'd just take an order, then walk away; minutes later he'd walk past the register and not even glance at the growing line of customers. Eventually he'd take another order, then disappear again. I worked fast food as a youth so I have sympathy for the difficulty of the job and the unpleasantness of many customers, but this was insane. Tried to stop here on the way to Monterey. Went inside with my son, who really had to use the restroom so we tried to go there first. The staff refused to let us in and said we had to buy our food first, and I guess let it sit on the table while we used the restroom.
