Drove to location and sat in parking lot for at least 20 minutes(while my groceries were thawing in my trunk). When I went inside I was told that my pizza has not even been started and it would be another 30 minutes. There was only one employee in the store and she was swamped. Need to hire more people or schedule employees efficiently. Would have been nice to contact the store when ordering and to have been given a proper wait time. Pizza was mediocre. Just above a frozen. I pulled into the large, EMPTY parking lot and parked in a spot directly in front of the store, the spot that's right in front of a huge hole in the lot, and as I walked in and was greeted by a very sweet little boy, couldn't have been a day over 2-3 years old, who was trying his best to make me take his fortune cookie.. but the sweet and innocent interaction was interrupted by an employee that loudly exclaimed, "you whipped that thing on up in here! Clearly you don't care about civilians!" and then disappeared into the kitchen. I'm not entirely sure how anyone could "whip" their car into said spot, especially after just braking and driving through the previously mentioned hole, but I'm mainly curious about the "civilians" she mentioned because like I said, the entire lot was EMPTY. Maybe she's a medium and sees the dead, who knows. If that's the case, it may do her some good to keep that tidbit of information in mind so she doesn't come off as rude or "crazy"... Also - I'm not a complete fool and it irks me enough to continue typing this review, but the blind accusation that I'm a careless person that has no regard for anything or anything but myself once I'm behind the wheel of a car seems pretty wild... especially if she's paid enough attention to actually notice that I was in the middle of a very sweet and innocent interaction with a child, that she interrupted and loudly exclaimed this nonsense in front of the mother of said child, who was trying to check out with another employee and the third employee was attempting to take a phone order... but the fact that she felt the need to say anything at all but then immediately disappeared to the kitchen when she really should've been the person to help me since the other two ladies were busy... but vanished... just added to her negative score she had going.. but I digress.. ‍ I realize this isn't a huge deal but it got under my skin just enough to write this stupid review. If this was my small business, I'd want to be aware of things like this. I do not want anyone to be disciplined but I do think a quick, private chat about customer service and customer etiquette may not be the worst idea out there. Everyone does things different in life but this establishments set up is pretty quick and easy - so the interactions should be pretty minimal and to the point, I'd like to think - empty introductions and end with a general appreciative line or two onto whatever is next. ...I realize that I'm just one random person that took time to type this thing but who knows how many other people would simply never return or simply bring awareness to leadership. ‍ Again - hopefully a random "glitch" and highly recommend this place. I checked my receipt and saw the additional charge was for a different amount. I called them the next day and explained the situation only to be told they can't do anything about it or reverse the charge on my card. This is your first sign that something is amiss. You're hungry so you overlook the fact that the chips are from a bag and the salsa tastes just like Pace Picante salsa. (note: neither are made in the restaurant.) You look at the menu and all the choices. You choose something basic like say... a beef enchilada and beef hard taco. The meal shows up quick enough but it doesn't look very appetizing. You then notice, there's no hot sauce (Cholula or Tapatio) at the table. Weird but you move on. You take your first bite of the beans & rice and think, this is good beans/rice. Then... you take your first bite of the taco OR enchilada and the wheels come off the wagon. Once again, store bought. Every single thing on your plate is from a can or from a store bought package. The taco shells are from El Paso or even Taco Bell. The corn tortilla on the enchilada is NOT even warmed up... it is raw and from the store. The meat is this bizarre mash of ground beef(?) that seems to common in Alabama Mexican restaurants. Just gross and tasteless. Once again seemingly right from Taco Bell. When the waiter stated (rather than asked), "everything was good" we looked at him in disbelief and the Mrs says "no, everything was not good. Everything was store bought. Not one thing on that plate was made by hand here in the restaurant. I know, I am Mexican and this is NOT Mexican food." The waiter stood there is disbelief giving us a sideways glance but he never denied it. He just said thank you for coming in and left with our plates. Now you regret coming to Las Fuentas Mexican Restaurant because you could have gotten better food from Taco Bell for about the same price. Go somewhere else.
