I was extremely hungry, so I also ordered the Chicken Club Burger, crispy instead of grilled. She asked me if there was anything else I needed and I jokingly said a side of heat. She checked with the other patrons inside to see if they were cold along with Jenn who was working and they concurred as well. Within minutes she was on the phone with the owner who quickly addressed the issue by cutting on the heat. A few moments and I could tell things were warming up. Now onto the food. Everything was hot. The burger was delicious, but nothing was too special. The fries were seasoned well and had a spicy sauce to go with them. The Fried Chicken club was AMAZING! I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw.
