Raw hamburger patty

Old and cold food and when I ask for my food to be off the broiler i get it cold 98% of the time especially if its the manger taking the order i don't know if it's because she doesn't know what that means or just doesn't care only time i get it off the broiler is when there's some young guy taking my order and he makes me park in the front for about 7 minutes that's how I know it's really off the broiler takes 7 minutes to get and it's actually hot wish they would do it for me every time I'd eat there more often it's been like this for a long time ...do the owners not read the reviews for their own restaurants or again do they just not care sad ..(UPDATE) so I went here again thinking it would be better hopefully...and it was worse got a raw patty and a bun covered in thick caked on flour and mold from were I have no idea...I've contacted the manager she don't care I even went on Twitter and expressed my frustrations with this location and they told me they would contact the owner and let them know the issues and I would get a response from them ..maybe ...well it's been months snd still nothing so I guess they don't care either.. can't wait for this location to close and they put something else there (update) so it's been a long time since I wrote this review surely they have improved .... Nope same old horrible food again I went in at 630am and ordered a loaded sausage crossandwich and again got old dried up food this BK is the worst !! (Update) After reporting this location to the health department, a district manager finally reached out to me. We had a conversation about the food quality, and she agreed that what I experienced was not acceptable. She said she would address the issues with her staff and for about a month or two, things actually improved a lot. Unfortunately, that didn't last. Now it's right back to the same problems: cold, old food and inconsistent service. At this point, it feels like there's a serious lack of accountability and follow-through at this location. It's frustrating because the brief improvement showed that they can do better they just don't maintain it. Really disappointing

I don't typically review fast food restaurants because they've all slid so far downhill in quality and customer service that you will most likely end up with a 2 star rating. Well, I don't know if I hit them on a good day or what but they seemed to be banging on all cylinders today. I had a craving for a Texas whopper, so I decided to spin the good ole' fast food wheel of fate with low expectations. I'll be damned if this was NOT the MOST fresh hamburger that I've had in recent memory. It was juicy, tasty and left me satisfied. I won't expect this every time (since it's fast food) but I had to write this review since it's apparently possible to get a fresh burger here without having to ask for a refund, because they got my order wrong. Keep it up and I may come back to this particular location. Like the song says "At BK have it your way" and I definitely got it my way this time, thank you.

The burgers, fries, and onion rings are always a solid choice. I've been here countless times with friends and family, and we even came here for my cousin's bachelor party. It's one of those places that holds a lot of memories, which makes coming back even more special. Definitely a go-to spot in Santa Cruz, with a classic diner feel where you can grab a yummy meal!

The burgers seemed sloppier than usual and just weren't as good as they've been in the past. What really bothered me, though, was the 3.95% credit/debit card service charge. I didn't notice it until after I had already paid because the only explanation was printed at the bottom of the receipt. If you're going to charge customers an extra fee for using a card, that should be made very clear before they order so they have the option to pay cash. Between the food that wasn't up to par and an added processing fee, this visit just wasn't worth it. I don't mind paying for good food but I don't like feeling nickel-and-dimed over an extra charge that wasn't obvious before ordering. Transparency goes a long way.

It's one thing to go into any fast food joint and order a cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, western cheeseburger, or even a smashburger. Plenty of options for those in the fast food market. But chili!? That's a treat, that's a special occasion. Betty Burgers does put beans in their chili, which is normally against protocol. I always prefer a nice chili con carne sans beans when it comes to the burger, hot dog, or fries milieu. But they managed to make it pretty good here with the beans. It really enhanced the item, elevating it to the special treat realm I spoke of. Even the coffee milkshake was a treat because of the real ice cream they use here. The service was great. Everything came out reasonably fast. It did take a bit longer than a chain operation would've, but that just lets you know that start from scratch here and take their time with everything. The ambiance was nice. It was a typical burger joint, except with a lovely outdoor space, a great soundtrack over the speakers, and some awesome decor everywhere. We both dug the atmosphere. In conclusion, Betty Burgers is not to be trifled with. Because her chili will bury you in its deliciousness and the coffee shake will obliterate whatever's left in its real ice cream viciousness.

The fries with the spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce made the dish. It was very savory. My son enjoyed it. The fried calamari was also good. The calamari and jalapeno peppers were crispy and salted well. The sweet and sour sauce that accompanied it was added a slight heat to the dish. We enjoyed our meal here and would return the next time we are in Santa Cruz.

My grandma and I visited around dinner on a Saturday and were seated on the (dog-friendly) patio. They did have propane heaters, but not enough of them, so it was quite chilly. For drinks, we both got hot Green Tea to warm up, which was very standard - served in pre-packed tea bags. For food, we ordered the Okonomiyaki Fries and Maitake Mushroom Flatbread to share. The Okonomiyaki Fries were pretty good and I enjoyed all the toppings, especially the spicy pink mayo. I usually prefer thinner fries, but I liked the crispy texture. However, the Maitake Mushroom Flatbread was a bit disappointing. There just wasn't enough bechamel and mozzarella on top and the flavor somewhat bland. Service was friendly, but I miss their old menu offerings, like the Heirloom Tomato Flatbread. Not a huge fan of the rebrand!

Now, I say "prawns" because apparently there was a little seafood identity crisis happening -- they were actually shrimp! Outside of that little prawn/shrimp confusion, everything was exceptionally good. The roasted chicken was delicious, the black rice was really good, but those black beans were FIIIIRRREEE! They had this amazing smoky flavor that I absolutely loved. Seriously, those beans were ridiculously good. The Linguine Cruise was also excellent, and even though my "prawns" turned out to be shrimp, they were still damn good! The restaurant itself is huge, clean, and has plenty of seating, with a killer bar that I really liked. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly, funny, and genuinely enjoyable to deal with. Overall, I really liked this place. Great food, good portions, cool atmosphere, friendly people, and some seriously fire black beans. I'd absolutely go back!

The exterior doesn't do the restaurant justice. Inside, the dining room and patios are beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's plenty of space for both small and mid-sized groups. The food was fabulous! We started with the calamari, which was honestly some of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also ordered the seasonal Caprese (tomato stack) salad, which was incredibly fresh with a wonderful combination of flavors. Even the complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar stood out. The balsamic was so good I forgot to ask what brand they use so I could buy some for home! Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful. When I ordered the fettuccine with steak, she thoughtfully confirmed whether I wanted the Gorgonzola Alfredo or the traditional Alfredo sauce. I chose the traditional Alfredo, and it was absolutely perfect. I shared it with my daughter, so the photo shows about half of the original portion. Everyone at our table loved their meals. The rotisserie chicken received rave reviews as well, although I forgot to take a photo. If the weather is nice, don't miss the outdoor patios. There's a table for six near the fireplace that looked especially inviting. I wanted to take a picture, but I couldn't get the angle without including other diners in the frame. I also tried the watermelon martini, which was refreshing and delicious, and the wine pours were generous. If you're in Aptos, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.
