I took my dog to the groomer and figured I'd check out the new Burger Boy located at 7560 N. I-35, close to Walzem Road. I opted for the "Working Man" burger with cheese, a small order of fries, and a Strawberry Cheesecake shake. Everything was fantastic! Kudos to the excellent staff.

Great experience for an opening day location. The drive-thru line was long, but it went pretty quickly, thanks to the helpful employees taking orders there. The burger was really tasty. I ordered a Working Man & added cheese & grilled onions. Unfortunately, the onions were not grilled. The fries were super crispy! However, just a little under seasoned, in my opinion. I also ordered a Big Red Shake. AMAZING!!! If you love Big Red like I do, then you will love this shake. Also, since it was opening day, they had an employee handing out swag once you picked up your food at the window. Some stickers & AirPod cases that read "Burger Boy". Overall, a great experience! I will be back. I will most likely dine in next time. They have a great looking building, which looked clean & inviting. Also, the retro rotating sign is very cool.

Only giving 4 stars because they are so new; it's apparent they are still trying to work out the kinks. I've visited various locations throughout the city. I think Burger Boy offers some of the best burgers and fries around San Antonio. Burgers are consistent with prep and flavor throughout the locations. Staff is always friendly and very patient since most locations are usually pretty busy. The decor is consistent with all the other locations with the exception to the original spot on St Mary's. With this being closer and convenient; I'll be visiting Burger Boy regularly

    Love the holiday cheer

Kenny was absolutely a delight to speak with in a season that can be busy with outside noise and stress. He attentively took our order while taking time to connect and ensure we knew the various options. The burgers are always a delight with so much flavor. The vibrant orange and blue make me happy and set the tone for a delightful family meal.

The second time, I saw the reviews with 'skimpy meat' so ordered extra meat. They have chips, garden salad, mac salad, potato salad, etc. We were pleased. They put "dressing" (oil & vinegar m) on the sandwiches, which made them hard to eat, even in the car, so waited until we got home. Service was friendly. Did not eat in but used restroom.

Yes I stopped to get a meal and was denied the military discount because I was not in uniform.. Not to many military bases are near this place to even be able to take advantage of this Military Uniform discount. So much for SATX being a Military City. There was not a single person in military uniform there. This place should just be upfront & say No Military Discount Vice oh You Have to be in Uniform for a discount. Also it's very loud, it was very hard to communicate while placing my order & asking about the Military Discount.. I had to raise my voice & repeat the order numerous times. Vice oh you have to be in uniform. So Military Brethren's beware of their Military Discount clause. Also my order/number was overlooked by 5-6 numbers after me. To the point where I standing in front to pick up my order & was asked what do I want. I replied you completed five order after me & im waiting for my order. 2 of the 3 sandwiches I order were placed & ready at that counter for a good while before I stood at that counter.

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.
