YUM! My first meal in the Netherlands was here @ Burger Bar as my friends thought this would be a great option as they knew Enjoyed a nice burger. Walked in and there was almost no seats available for a group of 3 so we just stood around for a few secs and conversed a bit with the guy behind the counter and not even a couple mins later a 4 seater became available. We grabbed the seats and the guy behind the counter was going over their beer options as I was excited to try some real Netherlands based bier. With his recommendation, I went with Zatte which is a Belgian Tripel...very good so I had 2 LOL! Burger options were solid but my boy Neil told me that Wagyu was the way to go...I took his advice! The cool thing about this place is that you can build your own burger so old Amsterdam cheese, onions, lettuce, avocado and truffle mayo was added along with a side of fries. Burger was amazing and as good as most burgers I've had at home in Chicago and fries were very good. Solid space and great service along with delicious food makes this a very cool place. Definitely the best burger I've had since living in The Netherlands. What's crazy is I left Chicago, a city full of great burgers (Kumas, Au Cheval, etc.) that I rarely ate, only to come to a new country and constantly crave burgers. Maybe my expectations are a bit high, but I've often been let down when I've ordered a burger since living here. Womp womp. One day, while walking around Utrecht, I spotted Burger Bar. I took a quick glance at the menu and it seemed promising. I also took a peek at the customer's burgers who were eating there and they looked good! Okay, this place looks legit! And it was. The beef was delicious and not oddly mushy like I've experienced at other local places. The bun was great and not soggy. The fries were crispy and hot and the service was prompt. I was living in Utrecht for six months and everytime I was craving some in and out burgers I would go to two places, meneer smakers and Burger Bar. I would have to say that Burger Bar holds a special place in my heart and is the best burger in town. The burgers here are very similar to the burgers back in California and would definitely hold their own in our burger market. There are a variety of ways you can make your burger and add on different toppings but I like to keep my burger simple, just the classic angus with cheese and occasionally avocado if I'm feeling spendy. Overall, hands down the best burger in Utrecht, definitely recommend anyone to try for a quick burger fix. read more

Excellent quality burgers, three meat options, the two I tried were delicious and perfectly prepared. The staff completes the out-standing experience with a relaxed, kind and professional attitude. We were pleasantly surprised by this place...so far, it's the best burger we've had in the NL (to us, this place beat out the nearby Meneer Smakers). The beef tasted really good, and seemed like there was no filler added (which is all too common here in the NL). We appreciated that there were several topping options, but I have to say that I think they are charging a bit too much for the items. The employees definitely were on the unprofessional side, so I was surprised that they put out such a good burger. We'll definitely return...I would like to try the Wagyu Beef on my next visit, as they were all out tonight. read more

Once you have done that, it becomes easily apparent that the Burger Bar is the spot. Best Bun, (Brioche) Best options (Honey Bacon, avocado), best meat options... IRISH beef, US PRIME and WAYGU.
