Visited the bar/restaurant in the Montcalm Royal House London called Burdock and found it a friendly and quiet place for a drink and bit to eat. No reservations was needed, and unless you need help as this is a self-seating restaurant.
The menu is fairly standard bar limited choices, but with some upscale items. Started the meal with the Mac and Cheese bites, which were lightly fried with very nice crunchy coating, but the contents could have been a bit more cheesy to add richness. Main entrée was a double cheeseburger and fries, which was delicious. Two juicy burgers on a warm soft brioche, with melt cheese and caramelize onions, a very good burger. The French fries were freshly fried and hot and crisp.
Overall the service is slow, but the meal was very good and definitely would visit again.
Hints for your visit: The primary bar and restaurant are divided, so if you want a quieter atmosphere eat in the dining room. And if you want it to go, they don't have traditional to-go, but are fine if you want to take the plate and condiments to your room. read more
