Trash pickup recommendation, NOT BURDETTS Ive been using Burdett's for the past 5 years. I was so pleased with their past service. I've been recommending them for years. Even giving them gift cards every Christmas because they were a good reliable company. I called today to ask about trash pickup, because full trash barrels were still sitting on my front lawn. Our usual pickup is Thursday. With Monday being Veterans' Day, I figured pickup would be pushed back to Friday. Just like trash day has been pushed back every holiday I can remember. I never received a call yesterday (Thursday) from Burdett's. (In the past they would call on pickup day and kindly ask if we had any trash to bring out.) No emails, no calls, no contact. Today (Friday) I spoke with "Paul" who said Veterans' Day was not [their] holiday. "Paul" said this week was regular pickup. They went by Thursday,, no trash was out so they left. No phone, No compromise, no oh hey let us make it up, just too bad, so sad. It didn't matter it was a federal holiday on Monday. Paul then rudely hung up on me. As a 22 year disabled combat veteran, you can imagine at this point I was upset. Veterans Day is one of the big holidays to me, and why be rude? So, I called back thinking maybe the line just got disconnected. I mentioned that I was unaware of the 'custom to them holiday list' and he responded with, "Dude it's on our fucking website, fuck you, COCKSUCKER." And hung up on me again. I have included a screenshot of the website. Where do you see info on holidays? Even disregarding my military service, calling a long time customer that has never given them grief a "cocksucker" and "fuck you" is grounds for dismissal of that company. Unresponsive destructive psychopathic children. Agreed to come extra for a large item. i gave careful and repeated instructions for entering the property when i could not be present, as they would not adjust their sched. to sync. with mine. i came home to find locked security gate broken into and left wide open, endangering my dogs; the item to be removed (which i had marked) gone; an outdoor chair i needed to keep also gone; my lounge thrown down the hill with such force that it was in pieces; i am elderly, with intense spinal pain and mobility handicap. They'd been told that many times Carrying the lounge uphill and reassembling it very difficult and dangerous to my medical condition. i called to discuss intending to improve and cement relationship for ongoing weekly trash pickup. They ignored my mssg. just like they ignored the instructions. Usually they do not call back. When i persisted, Paul Burdett himself phoned only to argue shout blame tantrum and quit. read more

I've had nothing but great service from this company. I've had both weekly pickup and a one-time pick-up of moving boxes/large debris (furniture/construction debris). Yes, you should always get paid when there's an agreement for a service. But, I don't just pay bills for random people of Spencer that want their trash picked up. You got your underserved money though, by threatening a person who's never been in trouble in their entire life, with court. A 23 year old girl that doesn't even live in Spencer. This company is fantastic. They're reliable and they're very transparent. Other companies hit you with ridiculous fees but they have a flat rate and if you need something else picked up they will for a small additional charge. Every time I've called they're always super polite and upbeat. I've recommended them to my neighbors. read more

I would give less than one star if I could. i should have known with a Yahoo email address how unprofessional this company is...set up service and immediately was told they had run out of trash containers. Set up to receive Bi Weekly pickup and a month later they haven't picked up once. "oh we forgot" was the excuse I received. What a joke , take your business elsewhere. read more

have had Burdett Trash since they started. I have found them to be the best I've ever used. Putting lids on cans, on windy days bringing them up close to my garage door. Calling me once when I forgot it was trash day, and said they were going around the block and would be back to pick it up. Keeping prices as low as he possibly can. There are however a lot of losers out there that will lie, after they have stiffed the company and then come on and give him a bad review. I've had him and my sister and two brothers use him, and NONE of us can say enough nice things about him, and the professional people he has working for him!! read more

Instantly became a loyal customer. Not just great, reliable service I've received, but one of the best businesses I've dealt with. I have weekly service as well as used them for a large, separate pick up. Why the glowing review? I travel for business, leaving the responsibility to my husband. Unfortunately, he has physical limitations. They actually called me to make sure everything was okay because trash wasn't brought to end of driveway for few weeks. THEN when the owner learned its difficult right now, he said they'd come all the way up our 200ft driveway. In fact, one of the guys had come up already. Talk about customer service!! I changed my trash pickup to Burdetts because my previous company was whacking everyone nearly 35% more on their bill for a *gas surcharge*. I'm saving over $200 a year now but more importantly I couldn't be happier with the service. The owner Paul is hands on when answering the phone and could not be nicer or easier to work with. I would highly recommend Burdett's. I was getting rid of several pieces of furniture, as well as some appliances, and they took everything with no issue. The owner Paul was very nice and easy to work with. I scheduled a bulk pick-up, and he even came out of his area to help me out. He was early, efficient, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Burdett's helped us out a lot. We are moving now, notified him of our move, and he was a great trash guy. We forgot about our trash multiple times and his guys came up our driveway and emptied it. Its great that we don't have to separate the recyclables and that he is understanding if we're a little late on payments sometimes. He's taken things that aren't normally picked up free of charge and he's an overall great guy to deal with. No stress. No complaints. Thank you Burdett's!
