DANGEROUS & PREDATORY - Felt like roadside extortion, not towing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. On December 3, 2025, I crashed on icy I-94 near Monticello after a semi caused my rented Jeep to spin out (accident report #25603944). Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Alex Tokar #40 arrived and called Burda's Towing since my roadside assistance wasn't answering. The TTD was unable to free my vehicle from the guardrail and had to call MNDOT to cut the line. After that, the TTD declared it "driveable" despite obvious damage and dangerously low tire pressure--I begged him not to make me drive it. He quoted $250, then refused every normal form of payment (cash, credit card, Apple Pay). Instead, he demanded I hand over my purse. I refused, citing confidential client information. He then scanned my vehicle for personal belongings, narrowing in on my carry-on bag--including life-saving prescription medication and luxury items worth over $10,000--as "collateral" so I wouldn't "drive off without paying." When I turned to the trooper for help and asked if this was legal, he literally shrugged and said, "It's kind of a safety issue. That's just kinda how things work around here." Alone, freezing, 3 a.m., on a dark interstate as a solo female traveler--I was bullied into a ridiculous choice. Minutes later, trying to follow his truck in the unsafe vehicle, I lost control and crashed a second time. The Burda's driver admitted he had no idea that I crashed the second time and said "I looked back and you were just gone.". He kept going with my property and didn't stop to help, and only returned later to bully me into driving again. Once off the highway, he suddenly demanded $500--doubled the price--with no explanation, no itemization, no invoice, no receipt--and threatened to keep my belongings if I didn't pay immediately. He then photographed my driver's license and credit card on his personal phone. The trooper watched parts of this, never intervened, and at the second crash site stayed in his vehicle the entire time. This wasn't towing service--this was coercion, intimidation, and endangerment. I was temporarily deprived of life-critical medication, forced to drive an unsafe vehicle causing a second crash, and left traumatized. I have full video, photos, call logs, and the accident report proving everything. Formal complaints filed with the Minnesota Attorney General Consumer Protection Division and Minnesota State Patrol Internal Affairs. read more

THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE!!! They told me they would air up my rear tire, which probably went flat after they towed it, and the battery was down to 0V. He jumped it with a quick charger, and it would not stay running, even though my alternator was indeed charging. I tried to explain to him that it needs at least 10V to run the ECU's required to keep the vehicle running. He kept telling me, "You have another problem!! I am a mechanic!!!" All I needed was a jump from another car for about 5 mins, and it would've be fine. I had it towed from there, to my home. I did exactly that. I jumped it from my friend's car, and left the cables on for 5 mins, and it stayed running!!! I also aired up the tire, and it hasn't lost any air yet. The truck has been starting and running flawlessly, since I did that. I am disputing their charges with Wells Fargo, because that is just HORRIBLE service, and absolutely no respect!!! The man was flat out refusing to help me!!! And they closed at 4:30pm, so I had almost no time to get it towed out of there by another service. This man even had another battery sitting there on a shelf, just like mine. I begged him to sell me the battery, and he said, "Do you have your own tools? My mechanics don't loan out tools." I needed a 10mm and a 12mm. That's all. Could've done it in less than 5 mins, but he wouldn't even sell me the battery anyway. UNBELIEVABLE!!! NEGATIVE STARS!!!! read more

Not a good experience from Burdas. Poor service max charge! Dispatcher lied about having a driver available. Left an elderly man out in the heat for hours while they tried to reach a driver who told them he was unavailable. read more

Corey did a great job! It was near 90 degrees today and my classic car had the front axle broken so the wheels were pointing in opposite directions. Corey easily determined how to block up one of the wheels to get my car onto the flatbed without damaging anything. He delivered it to the shop for me, unloaded it, and even helped the shop manager get it into a service bay. He went totally above and beyond what was expected of him. they were to pickup a sweeper for me & put on truck, said it would cost 200.00, charged 212.00 then charges me 138.00 so i got double charged w/no explantion, trcuk got broke down and i called as soon as i could , i should not have been charged like that, they even did not load it, was stupid, had to prepay to boot as they said they had problem not getting paid , i can see why , because they double charge people read more

I have dealt with Burda's twice now. I had a second tow done last night on my daughter's car. The service is really on point. The guys are easy to deal with, answer the phone, and get right on it. They don't care if your vehicle is registered as stolen. They will rack up the bill by not notifying you they found your vehicle. They have no sympathy if they have your stolen vehicle even if you bring a police report, they just want money. read more
